Hey! Love this:) I work for admissions at Northeastern as a tour guide, and we like to describe co-op a as full-time entry-level position for 6 months (admissions doesn't like us saying internship) lol. Also, many majors you don't have to decide which co-op cycle you're on during your freshman year, and are able to move your cycle around (this was my experience, originally as a spring cycle but switching to fall cycle right before). I'll also just clarify that you are able to go on co-op if you are undeclared! Overall, great comprehensive overview of co-op!!
Hello, looking for some clarity. Hoping you could help. Do co-ops apply to Graduate students too? How feasible is it for a 2-year Graduate student in robotics?
Can international students do this Co-Op program too ? Because as far as I know all International students need some kind of permission / sponsorship to do paid interships
the co-op classes the semester before seem like they prepare you for apps and job searching/applications in general and that's so useful as a college student
Hi! Thank you so much for posting this video, you explained everything so well and I feel like all of my questions/concerns were answered:) Maybe I'll see you someday! I'll be a freshman this fall c:
Would I be possible to do a video with students and their Co-op experiences in different majors. For example I’m interested in Journalism and Political Science and Journalism isn’t as popular of major so what is that experience like upon applying for Co-op.
Hello Tiffany. Just want to comment for the Undecideds that enter NEU. I entered Northeastern as an Undecided in the mid 1990’s. I had up to Fall of Sophomore year to decide what major I was going to be in. I took a recommended/required class that helped me decide what my major would be Spring Quarter (yes, the university ran on a quarter system back then.) of my Freshman year. It helped a lot. Not too sure if that is still the case now for the Undecideds. Just thought to let you know that might be an option for those who have no idea what their major would be; yet still want to apply to Northeastern. Great video and good luck in your future endeavors.
Thanks for sharing it! I love this video. I am an international student who want to apply for the neu, and my queation about co-op is: Do I need to pay tuition to the neu while doing the co-op?
Hey! I am from India. I am currently an IB DP2 student . I am falling in love with Northeastern more and more every day, learning new things about it. The Co-Op looks like a great opportunity and I am definately appyling to Northeastern. Though, there is one question I have in mind. What about the fee schedule during the years when students do Co-Op. Are we suppose to pay full tution during the Co-Op years as well or does it get reduced by half?
Yay, congratulations! I met a neu grad student on co-op this past semester and ik grad students are allowed to do 1 co-op! I found this link that might be able to help!: coe.northeastern.edu/academics-experiential-learning/co-op-experiential-learning/co-op/graduate-co-op/graduate-co-op-eligibility-and-requirements/
yes! you can do a co-op and a study abroad, or you can do a co-op abroad if you're interested in that! semester at sea sounds like so much fun but I'm not sure how neu accommodates for students who participate, unfortunately I don't know anyone who has done the program before
Thanks for the video, it was really informative :) I have a question regarding income: do you know approximately how much you’ll be making before you sign off on taking the co-op, or do you have to negotiate after you’ve taken your position?
Glad you found the video helpful! Usually when you get the offer, your employer will send you an offer letter with all the details of your employment (stuff like how much you'll get paid, your start date, etc.) and if something doesn't resonate with you, you can negotiate some of the terms then! hope this helps ☺️
Hello...I have an admit for fall 2020 in NEU Boston for MS in CS...Due to pandemic may be forced to defer my classes....how would it matter regarding co op/ internship as compared to fall / spring semester
Thank you so much for this video!! I’m in the middle between choosing Northeastern or a state school and I want to see if it’s worth the money to go to Northeastern. I have a question though. Do I have to pay for tuition if I do co op? So during the fall of sophomore year would I have to pay the tuition for that semester and then when I do co op in the spring do I also need to pay? Or do I not pay tuition during co op and only pay for housing?
Hii, Northeastern student here. When you are on co-op you don’t have to pay for tuition, you only pay for housing. Another cheaper option is to go off-campus during your co-op!
Hi! I haven't seen this question and I'm so sorry if I'm repeating it, but is participating in the co-op required? I just got in so I'm trying to figure out the necessary information!!! Thank you :)
I don't believe a co-op is required, however you will have to do some form of experiential learning, which can come in different ways I think such as lab research. But if you are a business/engineering/CS major, there is no reason at all to not do co-op.
Hey! So I'm interested in going to northeastern. But I also plan on doing dci during my college years (max age is 22). Dci typically leaves in June and returns in August. I'd be touring the country. Is there a way to do co-op and a program like that? I plan on going to the engineering college for mechanical engineering and design :)
I'm not sure how this would work, but it's probably possible! Maybe you could do this program right after your freshman year (when the spring semester ends in April and fall semester won't start until September) or you could try to find a 4 month co-op but I don't think those are common for engineering students
Nope, but if you are an International student you will need Toefl, resume, 2 letters of recommendation, transcript of records and to pay for the application fee :)

Why are you so cute@@TiffanyElizabeth

This is the best video to clarify the co-op aspect of NEU. The charts were super helpful. Thank you.
I’m excited and look forward to it. I start in the fall of 2024. I’m starting the CS align program.
just got accepted today, this video was incredibly helpful. pretty excited about thisnopportunity now, thank you 🙏
I just finished my first year at Northeastern! super excited for co-op :)
Hi! Thank you so much for posting this video, you explained everything so well and I feel like all of my questions/concerns were answered:) Maybe I'll see you someday! I'll be a freshman this fall c:
thank you! i'm so glad you found the info useful and feel free to say hi!
I’m think of applying to Northeastern and this really helped thank you
great! Glad I could help😊
I’m going to northeastern next year for accounting! So excited!
proud of you tiff

I really want to do this! I've been trying to think of some friends who might be interested, so I will try my best!

Hey Tiffany , can you make a video explaining how to build a strong resumé in order for you to get to work with good companies during the coop ..
Thanks, Tiffany.
I have been selected by Purdue Uni and this has helped me a lot.
Do you need to take summer classes if you are doing co op?
Extremely well made video, thanks!
Thanks for sharing it! I love this video. I am an international student who want to apply for the neu, and my queation about co-op is: Do I need to pay tuition to the neu while doing the co-op?
Good luck with your application and nope, you don't have to pay tuition while on co-op!
Hi! I just got into NEU for MIS too! May I ask how the double majoring works? I want to double major in finance. Is the work load a lot?
Hey! I am from India. I am currently an IB DP2 student . I am falling in love with Northeastern more and more every day, learning new things about it. you do not pay tuition while you are on co-op unless you are working and taking classes at the same time!
Going to Northeastern this fall to start grad school! Is it typical for grad students to do co-op?
Yay, congratulations! I met a neu grad student on co-op this past semester and ik grad students are allowed to do 1 co-op! I found this link that might be able to help!:

How was you experience? I start in the fall of 2024.
Hi Tiffany! I just wanted to ask. If we do spring co ops, do we need to take summer classes ?
Thank you!!!! really helped me a lot!!!
Amazing video!! Thank you so much :)
My dream is to study at NEU and work in Boston 😊
Sand
Same!!
Can you do a coop if you are doing a part time masters program and have a job already?
can you do co-op and study abroad? also does neu allow students to do semester at sea?
yes! you can do a co-op and a study abroad, or you can do a co-op abroad if you're interested in that! semester at sea sounds like so much fun but I'm not sure how neu accommodates for students who participate, unfortunately I don't know anyone who has done the program before
Does income tax take away from that 18-25k that you make from co-op?
Thanks for the video, it was really informative :) I have a question regarding income: do you know approximately how much you’ll be making before you sign off on taking the co-op, or do you have to negotiate after you’ve taken your position?

Tiffany Elizabeth sure did! ty! ❤️
Hello...I have an admit for fall 2020 in NEU Boston for MS in CS...Due to pandemic may be forced to defer my classes....how would it matter regarding co op/ internship as compared to fall / spring semester
I'm not sure I understand your question, but I think if you defer your classes, your co-op cycle can also be deferred by a semester, hope this helps!
Hey, is it possible to do 3 Co-Ops as well as replace one of those semesters of classes with studying abroad? (for 5 year program)
Thank you so much for this video!! I’m in the middle between choosing Northeastern or a state school and I want to see if it’s worth the money to go to Northeastern. I have a question though. Do you need to pay for the housing on your own? Thanks a lot
Yes I believe so! I've heard of very few co-ops that provide housing/ a housing stipend
do you think the global scholars program is worth it with 0 aid
Can you do a 5 year program with 2 co ops + study abroad? Not NUin to clarify.
yes
yup! I've also seen people do it in 4 years!
What percentage of Graduate NEU MIS students get Coop
Thanks
Are GRE scores required for admission for ms in northeastern
Nope, but if you are an International student you will need Toefl, resume, 2 letters of recommendation, transcript of records and to pay for the application fee :)
This was a great video! Thank you! Do you pay tuition when you are in coop?
Nope! You only have to pay tuition when you're in classes
I just found this school and admissions are closed now so I can’t apply 😔
The deadline for fall'21 isn't over yet! The dead is for international applicants is 15th May!
Hello, looking for some clarity. Hoping you could help. Do co-ops apply to Graduate students too? How feasible is it for a 2-year Graduate student in robotics?
I. did not like that sound at the beginning
