@@LouiseNobleMusic for me your personality in this video is very notice-able . love your knowledge on Kawai Pianos . and your Big Personality of course.
Interesting speculation but, of course, it’s all a (very)educated guess. Given pandemic supply chain issues, I don’t see how Kawai can avoid some kind of price increase. The question is, where do these models sit in regard to overall sales numbers per model. For instance, the GL-10 is at the low end of the Kawai baby grand product range but its a juggernaut in regard to volume of sales. If the 401 and 501 are similarly high volume sellers than the price increases will skew to the smaller side. Beyond that, I believe that you’re right regarding the overall trend to trickle down some of the upgrades seen in the 701 and 901. The important questions for Kawai as a manufacturer, then, are (1)what is the cost per upgrade to ultimately have a model fit within a given price point, and (2)how to best differentiate between the models going up and down the CA x01 product line. You don’t want one model to compete too much for sales with another model. Finally, I think that the addition of Bluetooth and the inclusion of the top sampling/rendering pianos should be a slam dunk, as they make Kawai more competitive with the digital pianos produced by other companies at similar price points. Personally, my dream pianos if money was no object LOL are the Kawai K500 Aures 2 (and, perhaps, after that the Novus NV5S). Even if and when the digital components become outdated and/or fail, you would still have an acoustic K500!
Thanks for your comment--I think you bring up some interesting points about Kawai's product line! My dream piano currently is a GL10ATX4, but I have neither money or space for one lol
@@BayAreaPianoMasters Maybe someday when your music career explodes. I remember many years ago reading about an up and coming local area musician in the Taylor Guitar newsletter. I had never heard of this woman and hers was one profile among several others also presented. Her name was Taylor Swift.
Hi! Now that the CA401 has been released, when are you expecting to be able to do a comparison? I’m currently looking at getting at whether to get a great priced CA49 of the remaining stock, or upgrade to CA401, or CN301. Thanks
The CA401 has not been released in North America yet--only in the EU, UK, and Australia (from what I can see online, at least). As I mentioned in the video, I'm expecting the CA401 to be released in North America in April. As soon as we get the piano, I will start filming and working on the video!
well,in europe the 49 was 1799 euros in major retailer shop ,nowhere to be found anymore as it naturaly sold out, has gone to 2369euros for the 401,and the 59 still available for 2369euros has gone to 3069 euros for the 501.I think the rest of the 59stock will run out soon. The increase in price is dramatic i would say,and i think it will seriously damage the price advantage that KAwAi had compared to Yamaha.
Wow Luis What a big personality you got. Damm..
Hoping this is a joke cause my personality comes across as so dry in this video 😅🤣

Any rumors about a new MBII SE stage piano? like an MP12?
I haven't heard anything yet, but I think it would be a smart move on Kawai's part to release a new version of the MP11SE!
