the one thing i expect tins to do is to make cards accessible to more of the playerbase. going off the majority of peoples luck with the tins, they failed to do that. multiple cards released as secret being reprinted again as secret, and with the secret slot being so bloated, it’s extremely hard to justify buying a tin. s:p at 42 euro, thrust is at 25, chaos angel is at 15, ty-phons at 12, imsety’s at 14. sure they’re cheaper than they were, but there’s no reason the tins shouldn’t be making these cards below 10 euro.
Your pulls in this actually do a good job of showcasing that yeah, they're not AWFUL if you buy a CASE. Most average players are buying maybe 1-2 tins max and considering how infrequently you got a good card, you can imagine how often people are opening their single tin and getting the duds you were able to move right past. Not gonna start claiming Konami Shill like some comments but it warrants pointing out how mediocre these are for people *not* dropping 180-odd on cases
Even if you are buying a case- the pull odds are just so awful that it isn't going to do a very good job of driving prices down for the in demand cards, which is what these tins are supposed to do. SP is probably going to stay around 40-50 dollars which is too damn high for a card thats that much of a staple. I definitely understand why people don't like this set. Personally, I'm not too bothered by it. I like buying sealed for the fun of opening them and seeing what I get! I also enjoy trying to build something with my pulls and seeing what I can do with it. My favourite part of locals is doing the sealed events for set releases
“They don’t feel that bad” sir you have exposed yourself to cases worth of openings and have averaged out your pulls. Most people only buy 1 or 2 and you pogged for MAYBE 4 of these in total.
Its actually criminal how bad this years tins are. The main issue I have with them is how much is wasted on the common cardpool. Tins are supposed to lower the price of staples and powerful cards that have been out for a while, these tins have everything locked behind a QCR or PSR both of which have an absurd number of cards to pull from. You then look at the Ultras and commons and see that there is nothing of value, and more importantly nothing that has been made more accessible. Im not saying all the power cards should be commons, but there should be a balance of SOME cards like S:P/Thrust/Chaos Angel being made a low rarity. Every common that was printed in this set was a waste of cardstock that is going to sit in bulk never being used. This is a slap in the face to their players, especially coming off of an absolute AMAZING reprint set of Rarity Collection last year. Not every set should be rarity collection, but no set should be THIS.
I open up packs because I enjoy the process, the exposure to new cards/archetypes, and having an assortment of cards that vary wildly in power levels. I buy singles when I want to build a deck, and don’t have play sets. I only get to that point when I’m looking at what I’ve pulled and realize I have enough to almost make a deck. I’m not a professional player, so I really do not care how meta-compliance cards are. The people I play with carry the same mindset. That said, they could’ve handled things better. I’ll buy some tins, but I’m not gonna go like super crazy over it.
I've had a nice combination lately of buying for profit, collecting, and, just for fun. The tins are so cool on paper. Ratios and clumping are a problem. 😅 in a realistic world I would've loved to see 2 secrets per pack to make up for the 100 total. Also the tokens and some qcrs should've been promos.
I think the problem with this tin is that it's stretching itself too thin. There are a ton of competitive cards in secret, and a ton of nostalgia cards in QCR, but it only gives each one slot in each pack. That combined with how huge both of those pools are make it so you can't get anything specific in either slot, making it feel like you have to open a huge quantity of tins to get anything you want. They should've given each pack a more even distribution of rarities, like take out a common slot for a secret slot
When I buy a sealed product I'm usually looking for 3 things: A new archetype that I'm interested in playing and many of the cards were released in the same set (i.e. branded support in CYAC or Fiendsmiths in INFO), nice staples for main/side deck building (like DUDE, DUOV, RA01) or trade bait to get cards that I need/want for my collection or my deck, and are already old and/or expensive.
If I'm pulling a product I generally just want to get the value back on the item or at least have the possibility to. A bad set is when it isn't even possible to get the value back even if you pulled the best possible cards, (hidden arsenal Ch1 / duelist from the deep) Also for me a big issue with this year's tins is just waisted potential. No promos, tokens in the secret pool, ots supers getting rarity bumped, redundant commons that have and will never see play, massive set size, and double down on secret rares for some of the pricest cards. On their own none of these are too bad, but when it all comes together it can leave a sour taste. Not to take away that the tins are always an incredibly fun open around launch week because everyone wants something so there's a lot of trading and packs flying. This year's tins aren't a horrible product but they could be better and that's sort of the state modern product is in. And the predatory core set structure and downright evil side set structure throughout the rest of the year don't help the situation. With all this criticism I'd like to offer a potential solution for the tins. Make a promo pack that includes 3 cards (1 of the 2 tokens, 1 of the 3 world premiers, 1 of the QCRs that surround the tin's artwork). Of the 100 secrets, make 25 of those ultras instead. Completely ditch the commons. Make the packs 6 ultras, 3 secrets, 1 QCR
i usually buy sealed stuff if my friends and i all need a mass amount of stuff from it and then we usually work together to try and get everything everyone needs
When I buy product is mostly for the tins and for fun. A good designed tins literally makes it or break it for me since I dont really rely on pulling anything I want, Because I NEVER get a single thing I want 😅 lol
5:26 the only deck you can make in concept is VASM Centur-ion Horus and snake-eyes. Like 6 VS cards, 1 memento card, no vaalmonica, no Nouvelles, and even then they are all ultra and above
Seeing Chaos Angel in this set makes me a little happy. I managed to pull it once when I got a Cyberstorm Access pack from my locals, right after someone else got a pack and didn't pull anything good. A week later, I bought another pack. I didn't expect anything at all, cause I had just pulled Chaos Angel the week before. But would you believe it if I told you there was another Chaos Angel in this pack too? I couldn't believe my luck. Now, when ever I see someone pull a Chaos Angel, no matter what, my heart smiles a little bit as I remember the one time my luck was with me when opening packs.
Getting back into the TCG, I found the nostalgia of opening packs and using my old cards mixed into current decks, love seeing SR/UR shine. Secretly to flex to friends.
usually i just buy boxes that i can get decks from so when i bought POTE for example i was getting the melffy stuff, some spright and tear stuff i wanted, same as synchro storm i got speedroids and lyrilusc
To be honest in the case of this new tin Im buying the Tin for the Design the tin looks really nice and I Really just want one of the tins for my collection
As someone who rarely buys sealed product I’m usually looking for new archetypes that I don’t have. If I can pull some cards worth value great but usually I’m opening product to get some random common id like to play with lol
I genuinely buy boxes to make decks and sort of collect I guess. And maybe that's where the problem is; as we just seen through all openings (this one included). Konami just keeps on getting worse at designing these products. Need more set products like DUDE; no promos again (25 years), 0 structure decks this year.....really? Going for singles from now on. Gotta unsupport these practices.
so i actually got a case then when the set list dropped i sold it to my friends and just kept 2 tins myself for me i like the deck cores in my eyes the whole idea behind these was to give everyone a chance to play some of the past decks from last year. ie vanquish soul, chimera,Horus, centurion to me the tins are a chance of you getting these card together when there not silly money and in fairness their not currently everything is reasonably priced however. buying the set is so massive its impossible to get things you want and in the end when i put everything in a basket i want it was only another 50 quid then what i spent on the case so its pointless too me out the whole case we pulled good but thing i actually wanted 15% thats it
Out of all the openings I’ve seen you pulled a lot of ultras and a few secrets I haven’t seen? Out of the 20+ case openings I’ve seen you also pulled the least amount of duplicate QCR’s. I’d say be not a bad case overall. Congrats!🥳
I mostly buy sealed product if there is solid trade bait + cards I want for a deck in some sizable quantity, my own frustration with the tin comes from feeling like the commons don’t contribute to decks, having cards that rarely have a home or are a 1 of. Love that they printed 25th RDA and BWD! Almost all the signer dragons are out!
I only buy products to have fun with opening products and having the feeling of "uhh maybe this one got the banger". Opening products for new fun stragedies or jank cards is what gets me the most excited. In extention, my biggest gripe with this years tin is that Secrets got reprinted as secrets and commons as commons, but hey i stille got 5 tins waiting for me, and I'll be wishing for that cypher dragon to bling out my GE deck :D
I collect cards so I like to buy sealed products that are fun to open! I really like the rarity collections because they always have something good even in the “bad” packs. I also loved the hidden arsenal boxes for the familiar cards and the shatter foils!
I open sealed product for fun, if I'm looking to build something I always buy singles but cracking packs is like crack. Also, if you weren't aware, Harpie's Feather Duster is getting two QC printings as pre-order bonuses for the Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days collection physical copies on Switch.
I don't like playing the lottery or gambling and opening yugioh product is comparable to gambling but a lot of the cards I want aren't that good, I strictly play rogue so I open a product and sell anything that's high value (I pulled a Thrust out of a blister of Maze of Millenia lmao) so I just open product for fun and if I get something of value then cool
I mostly open sealed products just to see what I can find, and what I can throw into a deck to mess with my friends. I also will pick up a few packs if theres a card I'm looking for in the pack, because I think having that chance to get something to make my deck better is more fun than just buying it as a single
I have OCD when it comes to card quality. There's been tons of times I've bought sealed solely to not have to deal with sellers packing cards improperly. I bought 10 packs of INFO the past week just to pull Broomy. 😭
I buy sealed product for a few reasons. I usually only buy things that have cards I need or want, but beyond that I buy products that feel fun to open. I usually buy at least one tin per year, but my luck is bad and I tend to get all sorts of garbage, and that's not fun. I can't afford to buy them in large enough numbers to counteract that. I'll occasionally buy boxes if the sets are fun. Last one I bought was Rarity Collection 1, and that one was so much fun, but I recognize that it's unrealistic standards to have.
It's funny, because when I began YuGiOh, the tins were the most amazing product, because they gave me a way to catchup with the sets I've missed. Now that I'm buying a box whenever it comes out, they feel way funnier to open because I don't feel the need to buy them because I have most of what's in it, so no i just buy them for the pure fun of opening and the "what ifs".
What made more sense, here in the states they were selling all50 QCs for 150 which inevitably turned to 180 price for the set. Lot of doll hairs but you for sure have the set for little more than price of a case
Honestly when I open/buy a product I'm going for a few things. First, support my local game store if I buy there. Second, looking to have some fun. Third, looking to plus on my value or close to it/break even. My biggest issue with the tins is simple. Too big of a secret card pool for 1 each (Move some of the secrets to ultra and/or drop some of the low value cards that didn't need a reprint or rarity upgrade from the set). Last year had 70 but with 2 per. This year has 100 but with 1 per (nearly 3 times worse odds of pulling a given secret). I honestly like the QRCs, the card pool is nice and plenty of good choices. Also, the overall set didn't leave much out that should be in there. On a base level though reprint sets should make expensive cards affordable, and for thrust, little knight, bonfire, and imsety this set did not do that. Definitely does not deserve the level of hate it is getting, but also might just be build up from a few years of poor preforming tins.
I always have the attitude that if you want a specific card, you're better off buying it, so I mostly just open packs for the fun of opening packs. From there, if I pull something good, it's just a pleasant surprise.
I usually target sealed when I want to open it to hit pulls I need, so I need to want/need a volume of the contents to be worth buying a lot of it rather than isolated packs for fun and leave things to singles
I open product just for the exitement of opening packs. If i would go in for profit, the risk of failing is there. Not when you just open packs for fun.
Awesome pulls! I buy tins mainly just for rarity upgrades. Boxes it's just from playing in local tourneys or just to support my LGS. Usually I just buy singles because it makes more sense financially to me.
I always buy my sealed products at locals when i am bored. Also loved your RDA-Deck show hope there will be one for Blue-Eyes too where you try to pull Master Magia :)
Whenever I buy product it's to get my hands on the cards and read them to myself. From there I start thinking about how or if any of the cards I pulled can be any of them be used in a deck I'm either building or built. If nothing seems to fit I just trade the contents and haggle my way to the cards I need.
Gotta applaud the commenter from the beginning (ctusia? something barely legible.) it takes a lot of courage to let others know your parents didn't love you growing up
I don’t really play competitive Yugioh, I more-so just play with co-workers for fun, so I don’t really do boosters/sets, mostly singles (that are affordable anyway). I do typically like to grab a few of the tins at release since they are a bit of a better way to get the prior sets, but I have found it better to just wait for the packs to be sold without the tins a few months down the road . The fact that the tins themselves have even less inherent value because they have no promos, honestly looking forward to grabbing a 24 or 36 pack lot of loose packs early next year. There is some good stuff, but I do agree with the people who say the set is just way too big.
when it comes to buying sealed product i do it just for the experience. gotta feed the dopamine tickle some how lol. Also would love that QCR Archfiend tyrant
I just opened 3 tins from my locals, and what I am about to say is not towards my locals but for Konami instead. This set is supposed to have a guaranteed PRISMATIC Secret Rare, but my tins got SECRET Rares only. That is just the next level bad. I am from NA, by the way.
I mostly buy them for fun and to just collect cards. I get most of my product from the Barnes & Noble i work at, so it is always fun, me and my friend at my old store i worked at used to buy a tin/a few packs and just see who would get the better pulls

A bad set is when it isn't even possible to get the value back even if you pulled the best possible cards, (hidden arsenal Ch1 / duelist from the deep)
Also for me a big issue with this year's tins is just waisted potential.
I open packs and Tina just for the joy of it. I remember pulling my first Ghost rare while surrounded by friends probably one of my favorite memories.
i usually buy sealed stuff if my friends and i all need a mass amount of stuff from it and then we usually work together to try and get everything everyone needs
When opening its really just for the hell of it. The best part is when I stumble on a neat deck tech from the random stuff I pull.
To be honest in the case of this new tin Im buying the Tin for the Design the tin looks really nice and I Really just want one of the tins for my collection
Personally i really just open sealed products for fun and if i happen to pull one of the good cards thats just a plus
As someone who rarely buys sealed product I’m usually looking for new archetypes that I don’t have. If I can pull some cards worth value great but usually I’m opening product to get some random common id like to play with lol
I open tins because I like opening product and the mystery but I also like giving back to my local store.
I mostly open product just for the thrill of it, but I mainly get 1 pack of the newest core set and a tin or two for storage.
I open packs/tins to prove that I'm luckier than my friends. No other reason. 😂
so i actually got a case then when the set list dropped i sold it to my friends and just kept 2 tins myself for me i like the deck cores in my eyes the whole idea behind these was to give everyone a chance to play some of the past decks from last year. ie vanquish soul, chimera,Horus, centurion to me the tins are a chance of you getting these card together when there not silly money and in fairness their not currently everything is reasonably priced however. buying the set is so massive its impossible to get things you want and in the end when i put everything in a basket i want it was only another 50 quid then what i spent on the case so its pointless too me out the whole case we pulled good but thing i actually wanted 15% thats it
I'll buy sealed products just for fun. I like ripping booster packs open and just "swoosh" through the cards. It has a nostalgic feeling to me haha
Out of all the openings I’ve seen you pulled a lot of ultras and a few secrets I haven’t seen? Out of the 20+ case openings I’ve seen you also pulled the least amount of duplicate QCR’s. I’d say be not a bad case overall. Congrats!🥳
I only really buy sealed product to support my local OTS, other than that I am ordering singles
I usually buy products for 1 trade bait and 2 random commons so I can customise them lol
The card with the anime reference that you were confused about was from arcv and it’s yuzu and her dimension counterparts bracelets and arms
I always buy sealed products for fun, not expecting anything 😂
i dont get the tins like what are those cards??? i understand retro cards but couldnt they do a better job with that too?
Hey Revs! I’ve been collecting QCRs as well, at the moment I just hit 197 total lol!
Honestly I only really buy structures as sealed products anymore. If I need something specific I’ll buy or trade for it
I open sealed product for fun, if I'm looking to build something I always buy singles but cracking packs is like crack.
Also, if you weren't aware, Harpie's Feather Duster is getting two QC printings as pre-order bonuses for the Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days collection physical copies on Switch.
I open almost every pack for fun, if I ever need a specific card it’s usually straight to eBay instead of trying to pull it.
Respect
I mostly open sealed products just to see what I can find, and what I can throw into a deck to mess with my friends. I also will pick up a few packs if theres a card I'm looking for in the pack, because I think having that chance to get something to make my deck better is more fun than just buying it as a single
when I open sealed products it's mostly for fun, but i do try open for staples
i just got back into opening packs thanks to the retro reprints and I just love the feeling of opening something cool like when I was a kid!
I open sealed product just for fun at this stage of my life lol
I buy product that isn't high risk, or with known cards. That's why I love the speed duels boxes
these tins gave me my snake eyes engine for my fire kings.
Thanks for uploading this man, I just did a trade for a bystial lubellion, my branded deck is stronger than ever now💪
buy a vault x extra large binder. holds 624 cards, or you can go with the large binder that holds 480 cards
I’m happy out, I just wanted the QCRs so I can get the singles for cheap now!
The excitement of opening packs is fun especially trying to get a particular card
I normally always open a box if I’m not losing a mad amount of money for a bit of fun
Dude your case was op. I saw so many Cases with only 1 hit :D
400 cards set, there are 2 cards above the price of the box
That’s a good thing it’s a reprint set meant to make cards more available
@@logandelaharpe6362 what cards, the ultras were all widely available, it's two huge gambles per pack and trash
The qcrs or the high hitters. I had a good case opening. Just no sp. 😢
I usually target sealed when I want to open it to hit pulls I need, so I need to want/need a volume of the contents to be worth buying a lot of it rather than isolated packs for fun and leave things to singles
Just for fun and have a good time pulling packs from UwU
I always buy products for the thrill of opening packs.
Nothing beats that.
When i buy product i buy product with cards that i actually need and i also find it fun to open packs
I open product just for the exitement of opening packs. If i would go in for profit, the risk of failing is there. Not when you just open packs for fun.
I stopped buying sealed product, apart from the structure decks.
Tins are the most fun to open because the card pool is huge you’ll never know what you’ll get
Awesome pulls!
I’m looking forward to see the QCR binder complete!
I open packs for the shiny addiction, just like filling a binder with pretty cards
I think the best thing In this set are the misprint secrets if you can pull one I wouldn't mind a misprint secret DMG alt art 😁
I simply buy the product because its nostalgia of me buying tins when i was younger
I buy products because I like opening products
and supporting local game stores.
I love buying boxes and pressing my luck. I want to buy a case of tins but am so hesitant
Gotta applaud the commenter from the beginning (ctusia? something barely legible.) it takes a lot of courage to let others know your parents didn't love you growing up
I buy products because I am a gambling addict
I open product for the thrill of opening packs tbh
when it comes to buying sealed product i do it just for the experience. gotta feed the dopamine tickle some how lol. Also would love that QCR Archfiend tyrant
Bro your pulls are crazy
When I buy product ofcourse I always try to pull the best card in the set it’s more for fun just to open them
I just opened 3 tins from my locals, and what I am about to say is not towards my locals but for Konami instead. This set is supposed to have a guaranteed PRISMATIC Secret Rare, but my tins got SECRET Rares only. That is just the next level bad. I am from NA, by the way.
Congrats your secrets are worth more then the prismatics
@@logandelaharpe6362 You are right! I thought I got screwed but it turns out that misprints hold more value. Haha
Buy from my local 1 box when there is a good set but it's mostly to support my local
Kahyoreigetsu's effect and art are an Arc V reference, Yuzu, Ruri, Rin and Serena use thos specific monster types and it's their arms in the art.
when i buy product its partly just to crack packs and partly for potential value so ill normally try to open sets with good value cards in
How did you get obelisk the tormentor costume
I mostly buy them for fun and to just collect cards. I get most of my product from the Barnes & Noble i work at, so it is always fun, me and my friend at my old store i worked at used to buy a tin/a few packs and just see who would get the better pulls
