Surprised the title doesn't say something like Peter ebdon Vs Marco Fu as they always seem to get it wrong.

Without the height advantage of our players, they would already have taken over completely. 50 million people play snooker regularly in China, 300 snooker clubs in Beijing! My local league is down to eight clubs from about thirty when I started playing. Teams are like nomads now, moving from club to club as they shut down!

Grats to the winner, but this is the difference between ranking tournaments and not. And still a mental breakdown on both players' part! As with all technically great players, they must also become great match players and rid too much psychology from their game. It's good that a telling Snooker made the difference (albeit from a technical miss), because that is also the difference between Snooker and other stick-ball games. :)

Anyone who beats Shaun Murphy (other than Dominic Dale) is either champion or finalist. That guy is so unlucky that if his opponent playing in God mode he beats Shaun and every other player after that, mark my words...

I'm so disappointed in Si. After he beat Judd yesterday playing that magnificent snooker everything was in his hands. Lack of stability and self-confidence are his two big problems. He really needs to do something about it if he wants to start winning in the near future. Congratulations for Xiao, of course. He played reliably today, focused on this win. Winning his first title at 35 years old is no doubts a big result for him.

Did the exact same last month after beating Ronnie. Played unreal there aswel then his performance fell off a cliff against Williams in the next round.

😧 Why didn't Si let the winner pot the last 3 balls. Unbelievable! They would have been the most enjoyable pots of his life.. He ruined the moment for Xiao and everybody watching 🙄

Si should have at least waited until Xiao got on the black before shaking his hand. Snooker is meant to be a gentleman's game.

      does it really matter? lol
It's like in chess, most players resign rather than waiting for their opponent to checkmate them. If the outcome is certain, may as well shake hands

@Matthew-bu7fg I have to agree with the OP.. It's similar to a victory lap in running.. a chance to enjoy the moment

@@Matthew-bu7fg It is an unwritten rule of snooker etiquette that you don't concede on your opponent's shot. It's like not chalking your cue while your opponent is playing and not commenting on his good or bad luck. If that stuff doesn't matter, then watch nine ball pool!

The English players still hold a dominant position in snooker, but because of less grass roots snooker clubs, you can the Chinese players coming wave after wave. Well done Xiao, long time coming. Enjoy it.
