Yeah, it's not quite the complete rock/metal pack we've all been waiting for (but not expecting), but it's a step in the right direction! It means Apple knows that we want stuff like this.
Always enjoy your videos, haven't seen any in ages as for some reason I don't get notifications for them! A highlight of mine still is when you played one of my songs on your show (and you said you really liked it - Jason Cordingley - Smother), so thank you and keep doing what you do!
Pete, thanks for the heads-up on this refreshing and surprising new soundpack. Wanted to offer up a suggestion involving GB loops that might be fun for a future show, or perhaps series of shows: a contest for fun where a particular loop is chosen from the latest soundpack and your subscribers take that loop and create a jam adding other instruments, no more than a minute (or two) in length. I think it would a cool little contest for creativity and to see the differences and ideas folks come up with using the same loop. 🤔
Not going to lie….never heard of him before 🤔 but downloaded and will have a play …I always do look in the loops to add a little spice to my songs 👍🏻🎸🎶
😱okaaay, it’s loops but…they are some great sounds and styles from all genres. If you can hack and slash ‘em into something new, then these are great inspiration. 🤘🎸
Hi Pete🙋♀️Happy time-away! Here's a question from someone who hasn't used any Apple loops yet: can you change the chords on these loops to match your song? Would you bring it into a "new song" and change the pitch then export as a WAV for each pitch change ..or open the loop and move notes around? 🤔
So, the loops are in their own native key, but can indeed be transposed up and down pretty easily. They won't ever sound AS good as in their native key as there's always some artifacts when you change sounds. More info here - ruclips.net/video/j0JOgXNUuK0/видео.htmlsi=zOn3xmoAgu14_qMy
So Mr. Pete, did I read right that these “Producer” Packs are PERSONAL Use only? Meaning I couldn’t use them for my own music? Thanks for your time, Greatly helpful vids, & enjoy your Holiday wknd! 🕺🏻
I don’t believe so? I think only the likes of the Katy Perry and Dua Lipa remix packs are not available for commercial use? Everything else should be all good like all Apple Loops. ruclips.net/video/MfAWx368-P4/видео.htmlsi=KsYwbgH93aTNrUQw
Im pretty disappointed by this soundpack. I expected a way more chugging riffs. It’s not that I need them as I can play all the metal riffs I’d ever need myself but from the lead guitarist of Animals as Leaders I really expected more Metalriffs. It’s more ambient music music to me. Not that the content is bad but c‘mon, for everyone who knows Abasi it’s somewhat disappointing.
I also appreciate the free sound packs but I would really appreciate it if they added the new sounds as virtual instruments.
On a similar note, I was hoping for new guitar amp sounds
@marcelm5681 Even if they charged a reasonable one time payment for new sound packs, I would 100% pay for them.
Yeah. We are all hoping that a new guitar virtual instrument is in the works. Guitar Session Player for Logic? We can dream!!
Couldn't agree more. I want to play the 'instrument'. Thanks for the update, Pete! 🙏
Very cool Pete, thanks for sharing 🎸✨🙏
Thanks Barry.
@ Cheers Pete. 🤗
Thanks Pete. This would have to be the best sound pack ever!!!
It’s pretty fun! Not an 808 in sight. 😎
Cool to see a new guitar pack in GB!! It’s about time. 🤘
Right?!?!
I like how gritty the riffs were. It’s nice to be able to sample something that’s close to what I listen to
Right!? It's like perfect imperfection... or something like that! 😃
@ lol something like that, I’m all down for it
It's about damn time! Not a fan too much of Tos8n but whatevs. I was hoping for some metal drums and metal bass, and metal amps. Maybe metal keys?

Always good to see some guitar loops. 🎸👍
Right?!?! 😎🙏

Awesome! 🙌. And you’re welcome to share your music on YML again my friend. studiolivetoday.com/yml
@ I would but I’m not using GarageBand on an iPad anymore, I use Logic on a MacBook. Does that matter?
Thanks for the info Pete!
My pleausre! If I'm going to take some time out from a holiday, it better be for a new GarageBand sound pack!!

Totally! We’ve done this sort of thing before with the “8 bar challenge” might be time to do something like this again?
16 or 32 bars cos it’s Prog?
Not going to lie….never heard of him before 🤔 but downloaded and will have a play …I always do look in the loops to add a little spice to my songs 👍🏻🎸🎶
Yup. Same and same Kev!
Tosin guitarist of Animal As Leaders
Really cool progressive metal
Yeah. Just discovering them now. Very cool stuff!!!

100%! For “just loops” it’s pretty darn epic!
Thank ya, Boss
Very welcome. 🙏😎
The base level GarageBand guitars and fx are dire and sound like mating animals, anything that puts some cool crunch into the mix is a step up.
😎🙏
That would be a good New pack 😮
It's pretty fun!
Thanks, Pete!
You're welcome. See you on YML in a couple of days!
About 2 minutes in,
“Jeez I wonder why Pete isn’t using the visible cursor he normally has..”
2:44
👍
Haha! Yeah… probably should have opened with that right? 😄
Guitar packs are always welcomed in GarageBand for me. No complaints here - it's free!
Right ?! 🙏

@PeteJohnsMusic Thanks...that was a helpful video👍Good idea about putting in a piano track to check key signatures..😀
Thanks for this Pete , sadly still no metal drummer pack :(
It’s a start though… his band , Animals as Leaders is an acquired taste ….. even for me ;)
Yeah. Just put Logan on at 200bpm and see what happens. 😄

Yeah. I know how hard it is to create a “balanced” selection of sounds. It’s a step in the right direction but not perfect. 👌
@ Well said. Thanks for your review.
