Poodles are such beautiful intelligent animals. They are my favorite breed. I think no other dog is as versatile. They can hunt, race, do tricks and they are now being used for the handicapped. They are great family dogs. They are hypo-allergenic. The only promblem is they need to be groomed quite often.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this vid :) I have my very first show coming up with my baby puppy red Standard.Chaska :). I have no access to learning a show groom due to my isolated position and was so pleased to find this. Your explanation in scissoring for what points of the confirmation and how to show your dog were very clear and extremely helpful. :) This has certainly given me %100 more confidence in grooming my girl for show. I will let you know how I go. Kindest regards, Birgy. I do realise the clip will not be the same for her but the Tail set, face, feet and confirmation shaping are a huge benefit.
Great video! Kudos to the cameraman, this was some of the best camera work I've seen showing a dog a being groomed. I was surprised by how you did the top knot. I can understand the back band section but the front ban I would've put in just a little differently to get the poof. I've done Yorkies for 40 years and just got my first poodle. I think I would use curved shears, I use to only use straight shears but now t use my curve and finishing shears more than straight shears. Can't wait to try this cut on my little girl.
This poodle knows he is beautiful and he enjoys grooming.. i remember when my poodle Bingo was groomed just like this! Everyone admired him and trust me ,he knew it! He was so proud! People took pic of him while we were walking and he walked and behavied like he is on a dog show.. poodls are really very special breed😀 i just love and adore them!😘😘😘😘
My toy poodle had his first experience with the groomers today, starter with a slight trim and tidy up and a bath. I want him to slowly get into it, although he did allow her to shave his face so I'm very proud of him :)
Who ever did the camera work needs more practice at working the camera they shake to much & didn't really focus on the feet or other area's they followed your hands instead of just staying put.
I've seen some comments saying "poor dog" but actually most poodles LOVES to get groomed. I hold my poodle in different ways than she does but I don't need to hold my dogs head up, I just need to say look up and he looks up. You have to keep the skin stretched or else the dog can get hurt by the trimmer. My poodle loves when i trim him and he's not a show dog. They just know that they are beautiful! (Sorry if my english isn't correct)
Isabell Aidehag I wish my poodle knows she's beautiful! mine wriggles around like a worm and each time i cut one side she turns to look at what I'm doing to her. and she can't wait to get off and run like crazy. HAHA
How old is this pup? Even though the pup is obviously used to being groomed and didn't seem to flinch, I flinched when the blade appeared to dig in around the face. It didn't seem flat to the skin but was digging in. Any comments about that? I've always tried to keep the blade flat on the skin. ? Thank you for the video, it's most helpful for me and my 4 month, old girl who I'm hoping to shape in the next couple of months. Her tail is abysmal, though. Very scraggly and thin. She's certainly no show girl but, cute as a button.
Great video! I am a groomer, 12 years, but I never did a show cut. I have a show standard puppy 7 months old. Is this the trim for them too? I've seen show dogs in pictures, and you tube, but not on person. Can i use this as a guide?
Does anyone know where I can find a picture of a poodle with a full coat, no clipping done...and completely brushed out. I'm curious as to what they would look like if you let them go completely natural, and then brushed them out.
never fails there's always someone commenting on how shes abusing the dog. ugh people do you groom is that your dog. this is a younger dog, she's teaching it. as far as the cut you do it and see what you get. also this video is shot in the interest of time would you like to sit here and watch it for hours while she puts the final touches on.
Heather Kemp yeah it is a biggie... it shouldn’t be ignored... she be using such a short blade on a light dog... she should be using a 10# rather than and #15 or a #30
My Poodle has cornrows instead of the ponytail on top of her head! I asked my maid to give Shitaki a bath, blow dry and brush her. Instead of putting in the pony tail bands as I had it, she decided to cornrow the hair on her head. I was shocked! She said it was because my poodle is black like her and now they have matching hair styles! I get the strangest looks when I take her down the elevator in my building now.
The dog isn't in pain. This dog is used to grooming. And if he wanted her to stop he would be squirming and crying. But he's not. People just need to take a chill pill
+DiamondWolf Well she did nick the knuckle of the first paw she was trimming. Right when she mentions that the new blade is sharp... it's cus she nicked the pup. D: I think that's what peeps are saying "Poor dog" to. :x
+KitsuneNeko I think it was more so the dogs eye rolling in the back of its head at around 6:00 lol. But of course the dog is used to this or it would have cried out. This is just the day in the life of a show dog, what he was likely bred for ;p
Don’t care if it’s a “new blade and it’s really sharp” YOU CUT THE DOGS FOOT!! Completely unacceptable for a professional groomer. I see the top center of the toes bleeding at 2:43, and I immediately disliked this video. If you cut the dog anywhere AT ALL, you are mishandling your clippers, and you should not show this video as a how-to demonstration. I am also a professional groomer, not someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about. You should have acknowledged the cut, and cleaned up the foot with some type of antiseptic! NOT OKAY! Cutting a dog is what gives groomers a bad name!
Actually.I have a Poodle. He is such a sweet and intelligent dog. Very playful, hyper and cuddly. Everyone loves him, everyone in the street stops me to have a quick pet of him.. They all wanna take him home. They aren't ugly at all. Some hair dos, I agree may be a bit weird but.. Lots of Poodles are used for shows and the fact that a groomer can make them look like that, is pretty impressive and clearly have some fabulous skills. You're very closed minded and judgemental. :) Shame on you!
They make those damn rubber bands so tight that the poor dog can't close his eyes. Seriously people...how would you like that? He's a dog, not a doll!! At least think of his comfort.
they doesn't need their whiskers. I trim my poodles face once a month. If you want you can trim around the whiskers but dogs doesn't use them like cats do.
As a Certified Master Dog Groomer and a Licensed AKC professional handler, I can find several things lacking in this grooming video. First, the very patient dog was not bathed and blow-dried properly. If it had been, you would not see any curly hair anywhere on the dog's coat. The feet are clipped up way too far for the AKC confirmation show ring. This is NOT one of the approved AKC trims for a poodle. I 'assumed' she planned to create a true puppy show trim but it sort of went south there at the end......
Hmm, well poodles need grooming. Their hair does not malt.. If it just grew and grew and grew it would get really long. It could become irritating and I have seen cases where not poodles but other dogs that haven't been groomed and they go out in the mud and it all gets knotted up and it actually is classed as abuse. :) So they can take care of themselves to a certain extent but not to the needs of shaving. :)
I do have to admit she is a bit "ruff" with him. Hey lady he's not a doll. you sure are taking advantage of his patience. They have feeling and nerves just like humans do.
Arlene Cardona I hand scissor mine, my toy poodle just hates her feet!! Being done.. Such a good dog, as they get older, Lelos 14 I don't over groom, l... I will say I wish I would of taken basic grooming w shears, 40 yrs ago, I highly respect groomers!
I just love watching pros grooming dogs they make it look effortless. The dogs have such good manners, relaxed, and some even start to nap.

a superbly professional groomer. Excellent.

agreed.
This woman is an AMAZING genius professional groomer seriously.
So fascinating learning each part
The best video , which I ever seen 😍thank you!!
Beautiful poodle and great grooming tutorial. TU
Theses dogs are so patient

@@SaraSmile --- she starts grooming her dogs at 5 weeks old so they are very well behaved and use to the grooming
How old is this pup?

Robyn Durrington it was fine. The dog would have flinched if anything had dug in.
Very nice, such a cooperative dog too.
What brand of comb is she using? I like it
Great video! I am a groomer, 12 years, but I never did a show cut. I have a show standard puppy 7 months old. Is this the trim for them too? I've seen show dogs in pictures, and you tube, but not on person. Can i use this as a guide?
Jamelia Mcgee my understanding the puppy show is only for the first year.
Is there any link for the trimmers used
Are you using 30 or 40 on the feet?
Super video, please other such videos 😊 thank you
What sort of clipper is she using? Doesn't it heat up??
Does anyone know where I can find a picture of a poodle with a full coat, no clipping done...and completely brushed out. I'm curious as to what they would look like if you let them go completely natural, and then brushed them out.
Try google..
Poodle hair never stops growing, so a "full coat" isn't really possible. The closest would be a long german clip
I'm always scared to use clippers on my poodle without a blade attachment.. I feel like I may cut them. :( x
Jaz Kainth these clippers do have an attachment, just not a comb. It’s the same level of safety with or without the comb.
Anyone feel bad clipping the dogs whiskers? I do. I feel like they need them?
never fails there's always someone commenting on how shes abusing the dog. ugh people do you groom is that your dog. this is a younger dog, she's teaching it. as far as the cut you do it and see what you get. also this video is shot in the interest of time would you like to sit here and watch it for hours while she puts the final touches on.
Oh shut up cuz I DO GROOM MY DOG unlike you and your fat ass SELF.
Faith Youngz you have some serious issues. Disgusting person.
hi i am sorry to disturbe you but i would like to ask you what tipe of comb you useing on video please
Omg he's so. Fluffy I can't even omg
Did she cut his foot?
+Melissa Morris yes she cut the toe on the first rear foot :(
+Melissa Morris No, she NICKED him. The dog was in no pain and things happen occasionally. Its really no biggie.
Melissa Morris no
Heather Kemp yeah it is a biggie... it shouldn’t be ignored... she be using such a short blade on a light dog... she should be using a 10# rather than and #15 or a #30
Have they done away with docking their ears like their tails?
Excellent video! Thanks so much for sharing!
Amazing love this video
whats with the random camera flashes?

Blanca W wish i could see a picture!
LittleMiss Nuttz I wish I would have taken one. It was back in September and Shitaki is now back to her regular look, her ponytail. :)
Ohh cornrow that’s amazing 😉
That is your opinion, however, they are quite unique, and if you think they're disgusting, I do not get why you are actually watching this.
The dog isn't in pain. This dog is used to grooming. And if he wanted her to stop he would be squirming and crying. But he's not. People just need to take a chill pill

Your right but did you notice the second foot she was trimming it was bleeding
It’s just not necessary. Period.
looks really good 💟

Спасибо за ваши видео💜💜💜
Stupendo❤
Who is operating the camera??? It's all over the place. Too much caffeine?? and the flash pics very distracting. It's not a porn. Very informative tho
Such shapes ... (
The hair ties are to tight, you can clearly see is pulling on his eye lids...
Other ways she is really good with that scissor.
Would have appreciated a flash warning for this one
Precioso corte!!!!!👍👍👍👍
I tried my dogs feet but. I kept messing them up

._. That dog is full of hair so how are you gona cut it . You mean hold the dog softy ?
They make those damn rubber bands so tight that the poor dog can't close his eyes. Seriously people...how would you like that? He's a dog, not a doll!! At least think of his comfort.
Did she cut his whiskers off?! :(
they doesn't need their whiskers.
I trim my poodles face once a month.
If you want you can trim around the whiskers but dogs doesn't use them like cats do.
lily versluis cats need them, dogs don't unless they're being used for their original purpose, of which I hope they're not...
I agree. Thanks! I hate people who say that about poodles. I own one myself. x
Why did I just watch this? I don't even have a dog
I think it's called a greyhound comb
I hope all show people respect their dogs more. She treats him like a product. The puppy is tired. Damn, give him a break. Gawd, show people smh
Did she really put hairspray on this dog?!
hdb80 yes with show poodles that's a common tool used to keep the hair up and fluffy
Thank you.
Bravo
Poodles have never had their ears cropped...but yes in Europe they have.
complimenti
Who’s doin tha dang camera! Ughhh! Great work on the dog tho !

Camera man, here is an idea, FOCUS ON THE SUBJECT!!
Oh and they have this “new” invention called a tri-pod!
What about the whiskers..
I think someone is taking pictures. :)
Queen size

Yankee Poodle w.e your smoking pass it this way
Fire your camera person. The camera shakes, goes off elsewhere. Horrible photography
Poor dog's live...
Haircut is awesome.
just don't snip his jewels
this camera work is killing me
Dog more easy then Cats.....
you really need a better videographer
Pobrecito perro, lo agarra muy feo de su carita, aparte le corta los bigotes, y le aprieta muy fuerte sus ligas en la cabeza ....

good god, she moves the dog around like hes a toy.. :(
So arm 😢

งานสวยครับ
I stopped watching this video. It’s terrible
This is why I groom my own dog, I wonder if she enjoys yanking on her toes, dogs should not be used for profit he's tired, no rewards 😡😤🙄
Wanda Steeves so she should just leave all that fur their like imagine if your feet were completely covered in fluff it'd be s bit bothersome
