Did see Tak in ‘Kingdom’ from 2019 which seemed quite high profile. Also very cool in ‘Why Don’t You Play in Hell?’. Could have gone for a wee bit more violence in this one myself.
I liked it. I've seen mixed reviews by some - for me I enjoyed the story, the twists, the music and the martial arts...I'm not a arts expert but do love good choreographed fights...didn't overthink it...just enjoyed the movie
My pleasure! enjoyed the movie more the second time round with your commentary than I did on my first viewing ( and I dug the film lots) really hope you two get to work with Adam lots more and find your way onto even more Japanese movies in the future! Great job!! Oh and Good eye spotting the wee Ape head! It’s actually a pack of Bape face masks 😷 the Bape store was giving them out free when we visited them in London earlier this year.
I got 'The Valiant ones' at Christmas from HK....now I hear Eureka are doing a Blu Ray... any ideas what extras are on there Dragon? -- Great review on this video and you are looking well.
Thank you my friend! I picked up the same HKFA release of The Valiant Ones when we were back in HK last year too. Eureka’s release looks great, not sure if I can afford to double dip but I know it comes in a 4K UHD and a Bluray version, Frank Djeng has recorded a commentary for it and there are quite a few Frederic Ambrosine archive interviews and a couple of newly recorded interviews as well. Looks like a pretty packed release! It comes out the same day as a great Japanese release though, Prison Walls : Abashiri Prison 1-3. It may win out over the Valiant Ones for me that month.
Looking forward to watching this movie.
Thank you my friend.
