LOVE that this video focuses so much on shorter riders!! I am a 158cm lady and what a nightmare it is in terms of bike choices PLUS the need to swap cranks, stems and handlebars even on the smallest frames. I have a Rose sl disk pro 45cm and a Diverge 44cm - but after this video I am definitely craving the Pinarello X. Just hope other brands follow the trend to tend to ALL riders, especially at the top bike segment (eg Specialize only carries 44 in more base variants - not the S-Works) Cheers and Kudos for the video!

It still has an adjustable handle bar (width wise) and a properly "endurance" lax geometry and stems that "make sense" and not 100mm+ stems. It's still much more adjustable and fits more than other fully integrated road bikes so yes should make the list.

Many Endurace builds come without the integrated bar/stem. The only hurdle at that point is finding stems for the wonky 1 1/4"/31.8mm steerer tube (canyon, zipp, ritchey, and giant all sell some).

+1 for the Fairlight Secan. You’re spot on about the range of sizes. I got one because the 56R has the same stack and reach as my racing bike, so I can set it up with the same position, 35 mm tyres and mudguards for winter use, then lose the ‘guards and fit nice fat tyres for summer off-road riding. Top piece of kit, rides well and looks mint too.

I have an Canyon endurance CF SL DI2 small frame. At 5’ 10” I was surprised their app selected that frame size but it fits great. My local bike shop assembled it ( they only do a full assembly) which I thought was wise for them and ensured everything was done right. It’s been 3 years now and I think it was a great choice. I bought it because of the reviews and I needed DI2 because I can only operate the paddles from the left side due to partial use of right hand and it was the cheapest DI2 I could find with endurance frame. Have it programmed to synchronize shift with just the left paddles. Works great. My bike shop has no problems working on it and has supported me well.

Afraid I don't have any good recommendations. Things I have tried are: Endura, Rapha and DHB.
Endura are uncomfortably short. Bib shorts particularly.
Rapha bought at a warehouse sale. Again, bib shorts are too short in the shoulder to crotch length.
DHB are actually ok in size for shoulder to crotch length but the quality isn't there. Chamis is lacking if you need something for a long ride.
I get why there isn't a market for our size but it's really frustrating.

It's literally impossible for me to get a comfortable bike because I have an insanely high inseam to height ratio (~0.5). Great to see more high stack / low reach bikes coming to market

Wish there were more geometry options out there like the Pinarello X, but with a lighter frame and high end groupset options. Not sure why every manufacturer seems to deem it necessary to build gimmicks into the endurance bike or assume that endurance riders only want a 105 groupset - is it too much to ask for a shorter/taller version of a standard race bike? Colnago used to offer High geometry on their C-Series, but even they stopped that with their new C68.

Love the look of the Pinarello but as an Audax rider in the UK you are expected to fit mudguards. So something light, fast and comfortable with appropriate fittings is what I'm looking for.

Well, you choice is not big.. it is either Cannondale, Look, Fairlight or custom. Other bikes are doomed to be fitted with ugly clip-on mud guards... You can also go custom or buy a gravel bike. At least there will b enough space for proper mud guards like Honjo with 32mm tire..

Do you have to to enter the event? You can get mudguards now that don't require frame mounts

You could always go for mudguards that attach to the frame with silicone straps or velcro. SKS Speedrockers are an example.

@@glennoc8585there not very good and despite use of helicopter tape you will likely end up with some paint damage where they mount. More importantly they are just not as effective as mounted guards.

I’ve got the previous gen Endurace with a cockpit that’s way too long and wide. As Canyon don’t sell them separately I’m really struggling to find aftermarket options

You could convert it to a normal bar and stem, or Pro does a cockpit that fits 1 1/4" steering tubes as well.

Since that brand went into carbon about 20 years ago, their frames have indeed looking like shriveled 🍆s. Before that they had their steel and aluminium frames made by Sarto, a company that knows how to build beautiful frames.

I think you‘re wrong about the minimum width of the Canyon Aero Cockpit. I‘m pretty sure it‘s 39 cm at the narrowest setting. You can only go up to 41 and 43 cm from there.

its a brand from indonesia and they are mostly known for mountain bikes, but i have the feeling these bikes could be really worth the money.
    cheers from germany :)

It's also worth noting/keeping in mind that at least a couple of these brands have been flagged for poor quality production (looking at you, Canyon and Open!) by others 👀
