Ruth , you are genious ... calculate(firstnonblank(with the filter( ... was all I needed to tackle the issue I had for days with lookupvalue .
Saludos
Hi Ruth. I got a question you migh help with. Considering DAX. Is there a good way to do an apples to apples comparison for running totals in certain ranges? e.g. We startet selling in Feb 2017 until jun 2018. Now I like to see the running total in comparison to last year but only feb17 to jun 17 vs. feb18 to jun18. Thanks
Sorry for asking, but I am using lookupvalue and it brings a blank value, but when I download the data and go to excel "Vlookup", works perfectly, what ma I doing wrong?
You explianed for 1st not null value from another table column, what if I want all child data, i.e all rows of the child and not just the 1st one. Please help, stuck since weeks n found your video while searching the answer.
I have a query... I need to plot incidents monthly based on x asix for open, closed, new incidents where open, new have been taken from created date and closed incident has been taken from closed date.. How do u plot all these open, new and closed with monthly based.... Note : here monthly I have 2 columns one is created and one is closed how to take one month basis and plot above three parameters in powerbi..
Sometimes unexpected things happen when doing demos and I have two options: re-shoot it or leave it so others see a human doing things rather than a perfect script. This time I chose to leave it 🤷♀️

Cool that it helped :)
I have a scenario where data is there in the look up table, but generates blank values for some values only. What is the solution here??

Stuck for 1 week, You saved me!
Yey!!
Super helpful ruth, I have a question on PQ, can you dynamically/ automatically create new tables/ sheets based on column contents
You should be able to , it depends on what you want to do exactly.
Can you share the exact details in the power bi community? Thanks!

Is it possible to use a similar method where the value you are bringing in is not Numeric?

at 6:07 you state either 4 or 5. Shouldn't it need to be 4 or 3, since both have same order and childid ?
I was stucked in this case too, thank you so much for all your video. Its help me so much
This worked like a charm. Thanks for sharing!
Yey!!
