So there's 3 childhood friend, 2 guy and 1 girl. The MC likes this girl and she knows it but she likes their other childhood friend (who has no intrest in her). The MC watches her get hurt constantly and it makes him sad, he finally decides to push himself away from her by hanging out with other girls but as you can see now she gets jealous. They do end up together but I honestly didn't think it was a good ending. She basically kept him on the hook the entire series while she tries to get with their other friend, these are toxic relationships but japanese authors seem to like that type of thing because I see alot of endings like these. Btw the girl hes seen with at the end there loves him way more than main chick.
Always grateful for the context, And generally, if you see an anime like this, especially if it starts this way, you already know it will end well in the end, because unfortunately, the girl who is annoying and harms the protagonist is also the protagonist of that anime, so they will always end up together. Unless the girl is not the protagonist - then there's a chance for good development. And sadly, it’s something realistic, not just in Japan.
@Garrett I mean your not wrong that's how it goes Then we let the guilt the other person feels seeing us like that eat them alive knowing they did wrong to you
Our walks aren't just heavier, its enough to increase the gravity of those who hurt us and make them feel guilt that will drag them down from heaven. I remember when my i saw my ex in the park with another guy she froze after seeing me and as i turned, in the corner of my eye all i remember seeing was her collapse and hit the floor so hard that 'im sure it tore her pants and scraped her knees
Yes, you are right, I agree, but the ending of the anime makes sense. We don't always want who is best for us. Sometimes we want who we want. This anime deals with that a little bit.
Everyone's talking about MC, but my heart goes out for blondie at the end just as much. Because homeboy's doing the same bullshit the pink hair girl is up to. He's ignoring the one who actually wants him because he's too busy running after someone who isn't worth the chase.
Most anime and manga studio writers were the awkward geeky guys in school so they write male/female relationships from that perspective. The only interaction they likely got was from women being nice just because or girls who thought them creepy and so they have trouble writing about a dynamic they never experienced, this is why the popular guy who attracts women is mostly written as a creep scumbag and the protagonist is usually apathetic or clueless. It is all self insert and projection.
Or maybe he achieved what he wanted like a true alpha-warrior-champion-winner. He saw, he lusted, he conquered. He's the guy who doesn't ake "no" for an answer, super-mega-giga-chad. Alpha-sigma-taurus-elipsoid.
Its called a revenge fantasy. Its actually a pretty common but unkown subgenre of romance a lot of people don't realize is highly psychological. The reason why people are drawn to these shows is cause people who get rejected often fantasize about the object of their affection regretting their actions and realizing they like them back too late. Doesn't often happen but it is nice to daydream about.
Very true, but its often unrealistic or undesirable. If the object of my affection rejected me, she'd no longer be the object of my affection, since if love is never returned its simply lustful slavery... chasing after spare coochie is a fool's errand.
Thing is it's not too late, this dumbahh gets back with her, breaking the heart of the other girl who likes him more. Still wish fulfillment but not actually revenge. Both are common though
Its not a revenge fantasy cause she isn't dying and regretting it. Especially since they end up together in the end. She deserves to be alone for the rest of her life regardless of if she regrets it or not. You don't do that to people then claim its revenge or that you are the victim in the situation.
And even with that, he stayed with her who rejected him, and not with the other, who loves him more🤷🏻 bad ending, if you like a better ending see the anime Golden Time
I don’t know why Romance mangas with a stable, wholesome relationship (before and after) is so hard to do for them. They always follow the same archetype of ‘simp ML’ and ‘rude FL’ and the whole dynamic is so toxic but they end up together anyway like nothing happened. Most rarely show growth from these behaviours, they just sweep it under the rug like “yeah I guess it was kinda harsh but oh well”. The best depiction of a good relationship we’ve gotten recently is The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten. Two people, previously unassociated, end up forming an unlikely bond that progresses from strangers, to friends, to partners whilst showing development from both parties along the way. There’s no tension between classmates trying to interfere with their relationship, there is no love triangle, no unnecessary drama. When there is drama, it serves a purpose which makes the whole experience better, not infuriating. They either don’t do that or take wayyyy to long to do so.
Pretty much. They always have to have some triangle drama stuff. The worst offenders being the ones where they add a new girl like 3/4ths of the way through
@ true, and their reason for falling for him is the most basic, random thing like showing an act of kindness. Some shows do this but the new girls intentions is to speed up their progress by introducing a sense of urgency, but that’s rarely the case. Even so I prefer that never happening as it’s pointless drama that subtracts from the actual romance.
@ yeah. I love Wotakoi. There are a few animangas that do it well but those are like a diamond in the rough when it comes to romcoms.
