This anime is kinda all over the place, from what I remember it doesn't have much of a plot and nothing is explained on why anything is going on. The anime looks pretty, but it doesn't make any sense for the most part. As far as I can tell, it's just a short series to turn off your brain to. Which isn't for me cause I can't turn my brain off when I watch and/or read something cause I love a good story. And I like a complex or simple story, but not a fan of the lack of a plot. All I remember from this show is it has some pretty ladies and some cool visuals, but that's all this show has going for it. I don't think there was an MC, the childhood flashback tries to state he's the MC. But he doesn't stand out enough to be a MC, at least to me he just has the presence of a background character
The anime tried it's best to adapt the books. If you look at the light novel it is based on you can understand that the first book is pretty hard to adapt into. From what I heard from people that read it the books go into tons of detail about everything that adapting it into a anime makes no sense. Some books are as thick as a bible and they still call it a light novel.
Sounds like what the live action Avatar Last Airbender did, to some extent, th they tried to fit half the series into a singular movie. And it didn't work out, also all of the characters were done dirty. Waste of $20 I'm never getting back cause I saw it in theater. The Twilight movies butchered the books too, though the first half of the second book is just a waste of paper cause it's just Bella moping for 6 months when there should've been a TL;DR version. Aside from that, the books are ok, it's the movies that are trash by comparison. Not to mention the books explained how Jacob and his people aren't werewolves at all, but the movies decided to retcon that bit of lore from what I remember. All I've learned is that people need to know and stick to the source material if they want to make a good adaptation
The main gist is that they're traveling around looking for armaments that can give horizon (robot) her memories from when she was alive. Thats the main drive but the story is littered with subplots and developments of where thry travel to. For instance, they got involved in a war bc britain came under attack by (forgot the country) but they escape and eventually return to liberate and also take the attacking country's armaments
methods like these to make someone snap out of it, really gets on my nerves, being abusive to the person just so he could finally realized something, i always hope for another way

In this case the guy was in really deep depression The horizon girl she mentioned died cuz of his fault so he was taking it on himself pretty hard He grows up to be pretty nice,weak always smiling and cool as u can see at the end

I remember the first season of the anime is adapted from 2 volumes of the novel, which is at least 700 pages each volume and therefore has to cut a lot of content. For example, the MC and his sister only got the 30-second flashback here to show their relationship, the same for King Maro of the nation, who also only got a 30-second flashback for his own backstory, as well as the Lancer Adele and most other characters. Same with the second season. In fact, each season of the anime has tried to fit in all 8-9 character arcs as well as the main story and the main arc story, but the result is that each only got a little bit of time during the 12 episodes when the contents are easily worth more than 24 episodes. We, the anime viewers, have no idea about the world because the exposition doesn't have the time to tell us everything since the entire world was elaborately crafted in every corner with lore drop basically every other sentence or in a subtle way. As a novel, it is excellent in every way, which is why it is hard to adapt into a successful anime without cutting like 90% of the content or just making it vague and not enjoyable for anime-only fans.
