Easy to understand why us old school prince fans cry everytime we see him doing what he done best....rip prince...great reaction again dude...you really get it
My all time favourite bit of recorded music. Loved this reaction. League of his own GOAT. I was blessed to see him live 5 times. So nice to see someone enjoy his best like that and understand how special he was... and there's plenty more to it. Big up all the people who feel Prince.💜
The fact that Elton John said that Prince was the best live performer he ever saw says a LOT. I think he really believed that his fans deserved to have an amazing show put on, that he wouldn’t let them down when they had paid so much to be there. Also, please check out ‘Diamonds and Pearls’ live! He and Rosie Gains are astounding! I have NEVER heard another artist who is this good live. He was legitimately THE BEST💜💜
Greatest stage performer of all time. People say Freddy Mercury, but Prince put himself 100% into every show, every time. I saw him in the mid 80's with my mom, and it was like watching the movie Purple Rain on stage. Amazing.
I was at this concert and it is still hands down the best performance I've ever seen. Many artists are great studio musicians. Prince was that, but as a live performer he is unmatched. 💜
Ive been to about 8 different Prince concerts over the years. Each was nothing short of fairy dust magical and each so unique it was hard to wrap the mind around the fact that they were all one man's creation.❤🎉
You so right!!! What a reaction to the greatest ever music genius !!! I am 72 years old and I have seen many but I've never seen Mozart! But I put him on that level !! Keep going. You understand music phenomena !!!! Kudos to you !!!!!🥰😍🤩💜💜💜💜💜 RIP Prince !!!!
As a huge Prince fan already in my teens, I was 17 years old, when this concert was transmitted live via satellite to all over the world from Syracuse New York. Living in Copenhagen Denmark, I had to stay up all night to watch the concert. - I have seen Prince many times live. BUT still to this day, THIS concert stands for me, as my absolute nr. 1concert I have ever seen and heard. Even I did not even attend the concert but only watched it on screen. - AND this Purple Rain solo is by far the best solo I have ever heard. Prince was not only a huge talented musician - HE WAS THE MUSIC - THE MOZART OF OUR GENERATION
Amazing, electrifying, beyond impressive guitar solo especially considering so many people don't realize the talent the had on the guitar. Best solo ever? Let's not get carried away.
I’ve seen this hundreds of times by now and it never gets old….if anything it gets better. First time I watched it was in my dormroom in the mid 80’s tears in my eyes. His passing left a hole in my soul! Great reaction!
I got to see Prince in person six times in SoCal in '85 (five at the Forum and once in Long Beach; got to get on stage in Long Beach, but that's a different story lol). It's great to see new fans appreciate what we got to experience in real time way back when. My best friend and I actually camped out at the Forum overnight (at 18) for Prince tickets. People did stuff like that back then, so it was just kind of a fun thing to do for us (because, in hindsight, we didn't actually need to do it - although we did get a pair of tickets from doing it). We both worked at a record store that had a TicketMaster (so we learned how to game the system), and her dad had a side hustle at the Forum, so that's where we got all of the extra hook-up. I guess we just wanted to earn our first tickets like everybody else because we were such huge fans - so we did 😁
I was 12 when my parents and aunt went to this concert. I can remember them carrying her in the house like she had buried a loved one. Totally exhausted and drained. They laid her on the couch and all of them went straight to bed!!!! Young blood imagine being THERE.
#PRINCE is and was MORE than a genus, Prince is Music. PERIOD. More than an ICON more than the greatest, he is just music... He plays his guitar like it is a part of his body. #PrinceIsMusic.💜
I watch this a least once a month and have just bought the re-release. Can't wait for it to arrive 😍 🤗 💜💜 thank the Lord almighty for Prince. We are all truly blessed 💜💜
Welcome to the Prince world. If you include rehearsals and unreleased track, which are as essential as his released songs, you literally have about ten INTENSE years straight forward from now. That's how prolific he was. No one in the entire history of music has this much material. 8000+ songs in his Vault. His catalogue is legendary. And deeeeeeeeeeeeep. Loved this reaction!
I never heard of Prince before the release of the movie "Purple Rain" and sat thru it twice in the theater because I was mesmerized by his energy and talent. After that day I purchased ALL of his older albums and have been a fan ever since. Once in millennia musician!
Big applause to his crew and fellow band members. They support him impeccably. Big ups also to the support singers. Taking nothing from the creative genius of Prince but it's always a team effort. Thanks to them all for making such musical magic.
It could back then and to this day may you cry if you don’t watch yourself. I remember when my dad brought the VHS home. It’s still the best solo to this day.
Prince made it all look easy, but most don't understand how much work he put into honing his craft. He had immense natural talent, but he perfected it through hard work, constantly practicing and rehearsing. There has never been anything like him. There will unlikely ever be again. He took his 100 talents and returned them to the Master with 100 more. Well done, good and faithful servant.
One live guitar performance that comes anywhere near this one is Prince - Joy in Repetition live NYC aftershow uncut.....total eargasmn. Camera is off in beginning but keep watching, u will not be disappointed
I try soo hard to find more reactions to this version of purple rain, Ive only seen one other reaction to it. Ive been listening to it for the past few months now on repeat nearly every day, and im still jaw dropped.
i was there10th row center i never in my life heard a guitar mastered like that in my life and ive been playing for 50 years! listen to his ATLANTA 85 version was there also totally amazing also ! he never plays it the same twice !
You are forever changed having watched that performance 💜 I was fortunate enough to see the Purple Rain Tour live and all I can say is every emotion you went through I went through 1000x over.
Same here. I still remember the whole thing it like it was yesterday. My friends and I felt like we were having an out-of-body experience. There will never be another like him. 😢
Good to see you appreciate Prince as much as his older fans did in the 80's. Prince truly was a genius musician and the best live performer you will ever see. I am so glad to have lived in his era and be able to see him live multiple times during my teenage years. Thanks for honoring him with this video ;-)
This was Prince in his late 20’s Watch 1998 Let’s Work/Delirious on Sinbad show he 40 at the time. He piano playing is awesome…and then he jumps off it. After U see this performance you’ll understand why his body was so broken
I loved watching you enjoy this so much! You made me feel it even more watching you love it so much, so thank you!! Prince was one of a kind, I doubt there will ever be another - SO glad I was with him from the start..what a phenomenal ride he took us on!!! He will ALWAYS be my number one!! 💜💜💜
Yo, if you're going to go down the Prince Live rabbit hole then que up: "All the Critics..." and "Stratus/All Shook Up" from the Montreux Jazz Festival 2009; "Bambi" from the Tokyo Dome Nude Tour 1990; "Shhh" and "Creep" from Coachella 2008; "DMSR" in Detroit 2004; "All Along the Watchtower/Best of You" Super Bowl Halftime Show 2007; "Anotherloverholenyohead/Rock Lobster" Super Bowl Press Conference 2007; "Joy in Repetition" London 2007; "The Ride" Paisley Park - Undertaker Show 1993; the Lovesexy Tour Broadcast, Dortmund, W. Germany 1998...all of it, really. Enjoy.
Best guitarist-solo ever one earth! Eric Clapton was ask one time who is the best guitarist, Eric said ask Prince! You can take whatever in this rabbit hole you never go wrong with the greatest Prince 💟💟💟
Please view his Live Concert video of LoveSexy 88 in Dortmund, Germany. There's so much to touch on in a mini cosm, but I would focus on the finale songs, Let's Go Crazy, When Doves Cry and Purple Rain then he closes with Alphabet Street. In addition, I would also point you in the direction of his piano segment which is definitely noteworthy! I think you would enjoy it and it would be a interesting conversation piece!
💜💜 P R I N C E 💜💜 SUCH A GREAT SONG!! AND WHAT AN OUTFIT!!! 💜 THE BUILD UP IS INTENSE - OMG!! 💜💜 All the great ones are gone! 🥺 There’s no artist today that can fill the shoes of Freddie, Prince, MJ, Whitney!! 😭😭😭
Omg I agree with you 110% all the music will be gone, when all who could make music is gone 😭😭😭 I dont care about to even menchen todays “music“ its only a joke!!!
You don’t see a Prince performance…it’s an otherworldly experience - every single time…all 62 “experiences I was privileged to have were phenomenal up to and including his final “Piano and a Microphone” performance in Atlanta.
I find it so interesting and satisfying to watch this young dude blown away by Prince....his attention not diverted to that 'gown' he's wearing or all the make up....or all the feminine stuff .....the young generation sees past all that and focuses on how damn good Prince was. It actually shows how far ahead Prince was.
If U thought that was FIRE wait to U see the 1990 Yokahama Show. He opens the solo in a DIFFERENT key. THEN he re-arrangers all the notes, in ALL the stanzas and sections from the original recording to only top it off with the signature final wail that is so melodious and has such tremendous pops of SOUND. Anyone who was privy 2 him playing/performing knows what I'm taking about! ;) Mariah Carey take notes!
He wasn't playing that guitar, it was singing all by itself.
Easy to understand why us old school prince fans cry everytime we see him doing what he done best....rip prince...great reaction again dude...you really get it

I miss him every day.
I was at this concert. A night I'll never ever forget. R.I.P. Prince. I miss you💜💜💜🎸🎸🎸💜💜💜. Great reaction.

We were all blessed to walk this earth at the same time as Prince.
Prince was a SICK asss talent. No one else, man. No one.
I always go back to your reaction cuzz its most beautifull, You recognise the Part of the solo that other people just miss....❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The greatest single musical performance of all time.
Love your theme song, but if Prince was alive he'd totally sue you lol. That riff was too close to I Wanna Be Your Lover.
Fenomenal. By worlds most fenomenal mucian……wow 💜💜💜
I agree!
Yes! Feeling that ❤ My favourite bit of recorded music ever, live or studio. Transcendental.
The fact that Elton John said that Prince was the best live performer he ever saw says a LOT. I think he really believed that his fans deserved to have an amazing show put on, that he wouldn’t let them down when they had paid so much to be there.

Further , mick jagger and rod Stewart stated that if prince had been white, they'd all be in trouble
Truth 💜
Greatest stage performer of all time. People say Freddy Mercury, but Prince put himself 100% into every show, every time. I saw him in the mid 80's with my mom, and it was like watching the movie Purple Rain on stage. Amazing.

It's great to see younger people APPRECIATE the GREATNESS of Prince.
Makes me cry every time My Uncle Prince did this song Purple Rain
Ive been to about 8 different Prince concerts over the years. Each was nothing short of fairy dust magical and each so unique it was hard to wrap the mind around the fact that they were all one man's creation.❤🎉
I’m so envious! How blessed you were to have that experience several times to witness musical genius!💜
RIP PRINCE the GOAT of them all 💜
Ther was ABSOLUTELY nothing like a Prince concert!!
This is how his concerts are, usually 3 hours long. He also changes clothes several times. It was a show every time.
8 times for me. I went broke to see him live. 1984 I graduated high school so this was the soundtrack of my youth!!
And would do aftershows! Amazing
Thank God we were touched by Prince's music. Forever missed.
One of the worlds greatest artists. He was a treasure.

History will show this guy was on another level!
This is what shows u what a true musical genius is this is
I am so glad you are feeling him. The greatest Prince is
Phenomenon. Prince was from a different time and space.
He bore his soul and sang and played from the soul of humanity itself. Nobody could emote on stage like this man.
I was 12 when my parents and aunt went to this concert. I can remember them carrying her in the house like she had buried a loved one. Totally exhausted and drained. They laid her on the couch and all of them went straight to bed!!!!

Perfect reaction for the perfect performance. Thank you for this!
This is history, a virtuoso performance which is unmatched in popular music - he was the Mozart or the Bach of our times.

Another favorite performance by Prince was the super bowl XLI half time performance. For me, it's at least par with While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
