The lights aren’t synced anymore on the new Tahoe’s. They also switched from their iconic siren to the Whelen CenCom Siren with added evacuation tones (aka the European Two Tone siren.)
No need! There is a siren mega pack on Modification universe called LEO/FIRE siren mega pack, when you download it, it will be under the whelen engineering folder, it will be titled Whelen CHP Modified Priority, if you want to hear it I have a showcase of it on my channel
In California, Hi-Low and phaser "machine gun" sirens are not legal code 3 response sirens. The max allowable swing from high to low tone is 249 cycles per minute and must be a continuous flow through the spectrum. Like if you start at the lower keys on a piano and drag your finger from the left to right over all the keys No large abrupt changes in tone. I believe since it is an odd siren, it will get peoples attention better than a normal siren that you hear on everything.
The custom siren is still in use. I've been passed by a few chippies in Tahoes and they still are equipped with them. The siren in the video is a new addition that is being used by the chippies for when something happens requiring evacuation, like a brush fire or bomb threat.
@@drnickatnyte2688 No, they don't have both sirens. The newer models after late 2019 have the Whelen CORE or CenCom system enabled which includes the new evacuation tone.

It's called Hi-Lo and it's been a siren selection on electronic sirens here in the U.S. for decades. It's just that American first responders don't typically use it --- probably because they don't want to be accused of copying Europeans.
It's not the epsilon, but it does have the same wail/yelp tone as the epsilon. They have a newer control panel instead, I think its the cencom core, but they switched to wecan so no more custom siren. CHP made a video of how they manage their fleet and it showed the car and inside. All newer whelen systems have the newer whelen wail/yelp. Via their software, there are 68 different tones you can choose from.

All of CHP's sirens are Whelen Sirens. Whelen custom program's systems for CHP
This kinda sucks they should have used the Cencoms as a secondary siren when the custom whelen sirens isn’t working
The lights look so bad now..
@@Marco-bf4uu i agree
@@Marco-bf4uu the lights are fine it's the siren mainly it's like something from a horror movie before something is about to happen
Cool catch, Im going to try to recreate that in a video.

Priority isnt required
This isn't a code 3 call this is an evacuation tone. Completely different uses
@@DennisMartinezCalifornia furthermore CHP doesn't even have a phaser siren this Hi-low Siren is brand new to their system
Nice video!
Nice Hi-Lo! Sounds very British
gotta love them small lightbars on the back
Well that's a nice use of the programmable Whelen lights & siren systems! Interesting catches!
The old Whelen CHP sirens were better.
So sync’d lights is out the window now? Well that sucks.
Hi-Lo's in Cali are mainly use for evac alarms.
Say that to bell and Whittier pd
Bell Gardens dont use it for evac
a sadly for us all. the iconic custom siren gone, replaced with an overused whelen cencom Safire

Yeah the previous comment is right this is basically just a public announcement system
It’s still in use currently however as new vehicles come it’ll slowly be replaced with the new system.

That sounds just like an emergency vehicle in London! Awesome tones and cool unit.
Actually London, and England have adopted the American tones the most out of the European Countries
i found cobra emergency :D
That siren sounded so British
Imagine all cop vehicles in Cali using “Prowler sound” as EVAC Alarms
Do you have a video of them responding with the new siren? I heard like demo parts of it but not the full one
Hi Lo sounds nice. The unsynced lighting feels odd.
Super catching🤗
CHP Hi-Lo is sick!
Where I live the Police use that siren quite frequently when responding to calls
Same here accept with EMS and sheriff units
Wow very interesting changes
Please evacuat the area por favor the Chp officer said
Great Two-Tones! Nice catch! 👍

what this siren called?
Whelen cencom core, evac hi Lo tone
That two tone siren is primarily used in the uk, so its unusual to see Americans use it

it’s also not recognized as a siren tone in California I think
