50 can't complain about G-Unit work ethic when they were on top of the game he kept them from collaborating with the hottest artists so when they fell out of the spotlight other artist didn't want to work with them because they didn't share the spotlight when they had it. 50 beefed with everybody so it's hard to network when all the doors are closed. He limited them then complained about how far they got.
Masco 24 yet people must of forgot went banks took a picture with game that 50 stop fucking with banks because of it. And when The Game wanted to do songs with other artists 50 stop fucking with him also. It’s 50 fault that his artist did get big because he block them from working with everyone
This is definitely the strongest conversation you guys have had that really made me appreciate my company and the people in my life who helped me elevate
This all comes down to what snoop said to asap rocky in that noisey interview, “bridging the gap” when you have a collective like g-unit you cant have 50 reaching these heights and his crew not following. Thats why naturally it fell apart cos 50 had to keep moving forward.
considering how it went down thats how it shouldve been. 50 used his success to put them on. interscope didnt want solo albums from banks or yayo. after that they needed to grind.
or he could just live the life he live now and dont have to worry about chasing a bag. if he satisfied with the life he lives now that,s fine. not everybody have to chase a bag, sometimes people just get to a place where they are happy and live life.
Banks never wanted to be famous, he’s said that quite a few times in the interviews that he has done. I think for 50, he wanted his people to be on the same status as him but that didn’t work out at all.
@Nik3LOL you don't join G Unit, on Eminem's record label without "wanting to be famous" . infact. put the fucking work in, your on Eminem's label. step up and do the damn thing. He could have stayed on the clue tapes and been infamous. he took the step and let 50 down.
@@twizzy6760 he's a rapper not a ghostwriter. maybe he enjoys rapping & performing, but doesn't want the b.s that comes with being as famous as a 50 Cent or Jay-Z? ghostwriters make less money than rappers that write AND have to tour & stage perform. all this boils down to is, banks is doing what he wants to do. not everybody is meant to be, or wants to be Jay-Z or 50 & reach those levels of success. with those levels of success comes a lot of stress, a lot of extra work & extra b.s that banks may not want to deal with. dude just wants to rap & perform & thats it. he may not want to be a ceo or entrepreneur. that life isn't for everybody.
It's a mindset to be bigger and desire more. Kobe felt like that about Shaq, he was lazy and didn't want to put in the work to stay in shape. Fifty desire was to be the best and Banks just wanted to rap and have it come to him, and Yayo, just wanted to be Yayo... I understand with Maury is saying, you can't put your expectations and desires on me. Especially if it doesn't match my personality or my own personal desires.
50 kept the energy of beef active and prevented his men from dealing with his enemies. I feel like Banks could be like Fab, incognito and still putting out slammers. I don’t think that banks is lazy but he wanted to travel and gain experience. 50 wants them to mirror him and if they don’t then he shits on them. He is toxic
The essence of what 50 is saying is spot on. Banks came in the game at 18, his first album feature was with the biggest rap star on the planet (Em) and the about to be the biggest rap star on the planet (50) on one of the biggest rap albums in hip hop history on Dont Push Me. 50 didnt have to put him on that song. Banks never had to grind in the industry, he just rode 50s wave. So its natural for him to expect 50 to continue to build him. But at a certain stage you gotta man up and do your own thing. Making a mixtape once a year isnt gonna cut it.
Some people are watchers.. They don't move if they are comfortable.. That's how I see banks he makes enough to live a nice life and that makes him happy Yayo is just out right not markitable he's a likable guy from interviews I have watched but going to jail early in his career wrecked his momentum Buck was the one.. Markitable had good music was likable and believable his downfall was how erratic he is and how that effects his life outside of music
Banks lately been dropping more music so he’s probably gonna get his rise again, he was the best from G Unit with wordplay and punchlines. Yayo on the other hand.......yea
Banks got shot tho too. He talked about it on a song. If I remember correctly. Joe want no parts of this interview, cause he probably don't want beef with fif.lmao.
Funny thing is that all of that supposed drama was industry shit not really street shit except the select few murder inc, lil kim situation, jimmy henchman
Lloyd banks is one of my favorite Artist, but fifty right the man is lazy when it comes to promoting his classic catalog of music. He could of shot a lot of videos for his mixtapes, and kept s buzz going until this day. He could hold his own on any song you put him with any top artist today.
Agree I'm a massive g unit fan. Banks thought he knew better than 50. He wanted to not interact with fans smh. He didnt get a 1k camera and shoot a fn vid . Some fan would of edited for free. Just lazy and doesn't know how business works. He was a kid and got put on
Honestly Banks is too lyrical for this generation, being lyrical is not what sells records he would have to dumb his flow down to sell which he doesn't wanna do
“All on the mic 🎙 screaming/You call it ‘HYPING YOURSELF UP’/I call it street dreaming” - PLAYBOY, Lloyd Banks .... 50 doesn’t even have a song like this. A lyrical, street song that doesn’t fit radio or the clubs. Just live performances. One of the best rap songs ever made.
IAmCassoo I never considered Game a part of G unit the group ... G unit was originally 50 , Banks & Yayo from the original tapes then yayo went to jail then buck came and actually made the group hotter and more appeal .. u right game did a few songs with them and had a g unit radio but technically he was just on the label to me .. but he had a whole coast out west I right n west coast support they own
50 said this years ago...he came up under Nas and the brave hearts he said he was disappointed how Nas didnt set them guys up Nas and The Brave Hearts were the original g-unit that didnt happen.
Yo to joes point which mite be his best point ever! As an energy person I find that the ability to see through energy is our greatest trait but also our biggest downfall and I believe it’s why socially people struggle with us particularly
Banks may have just been comfortable at the point he reached musically, i felt he had more potential to be at a higher height but he may have just been comfortable at that point
Idk the height of. Career for a rapper like banks is Fabolous. Nas and Jay are the only lyrical rappers who are huge. 50 makes hits he’s not an amazing rapper.
Banks maybe lazy...and yeah yayo is yayo....but lets not act like 50 didn't add to the demise of G-unit. him beefing with everyone in new york was one major reason. G-unit had a great run but it was way shorter than it should have been and a lot is the music got weaker and weaker and beefs got more and more petty. when you known more for the beef than the music you are in trouble.
Rory is right but I think it's a work ethic thing. You might not want to be in the same position but whatever you desire you gotta put in the work to get it or sustain it.
50 cent follows the 48 laws of power to perfection which is part of the reason he is so successful. Law 1 is “never outshine the master.” 50 was the boss of G unit and made it known that banks, yayo, and buck were his soldiers. Notice he never referred to any g unit member as bosses and always as “g unit soldiers.” I think 50 is being truthful when he says he wanted banks and yayo to be successful but NEVER successful to the point they outshine him hence why the only person in the group(game) got kicked out soon as he sold 5 million out of the gate and seemed to be headed towards the same success as 50. He masked it by blaming game for being cool with his rap enemies. Just like how the book explains the king in France sent his ambassador to jail for outshining him but masked it with a convenient excuse. Even spider loc mentioned how 50 attitude switched when suddenly fans had more interest in his artist than him. 50 loves power and that’s he never did for banks and yayo what Wayne did for drake and nicki.
That's not true tho. 50 didn't want to deal with Game because he said he would do a record with his enemies on the radio and that doesn't affect him. That same night 50 dropped Game from G-unit lol, I remember when it all happened. Besides Interscope made him sign The Game. 50 didn't like disloyalty. Spider Loc was never G-Unit proper, he was an underground west coast rapper than ran with G-Unit mainly because Young Buck. When 50 stopped messing with Buck, he stopped messing with Loc. And 50 wanted them to shine! Listen to how 50 was mad about Chief Keef not showing up for that video shoot. He wants success for those willing to take it, but he also puts loyalty at the same line. Banks went Platinum, Yayo went Gold, Game went Platinum, Buck went Gold. G-Unit went platinum. If 50 really cared about power, he would've never put anyone on.
I like how this podcast claims they dont wanna talk about tekashi , but cut a whole 25 minute clip of them actually talking about him just to get views
Yayo got comfortable being the hype man buck got comfortable spending 50 money and if banks had a choice he would of just dropped that first album and that's it
Banks is the definition of someone who could have sold his souls and took 50’s spot in the game when 50 went into movies and t.v. Banks chose not to sell his soul. He got black balled in a way on a couple of his albums and dropped mixtape after mixtape after mixtape legendary work that is better than most rappers albums. One of the greatest rappers to ever grace a mic period.
50 cent cool but is being disingenuous again. Lloyd banks and yayo were his soldiers. They were never meant to be stars. They were is outlawz or state property. You know what happened to the guy who didny want to be a soldier (the game) he got kicked out of the group. His assessment of their character may be correct but him saying he wanted them to fight him for air in the room is a lie. He is the boss. For every g unit sale he earns. What he really means is I wanted them do the numbers i do for dre.
I was about to write something like that, I totally agree. If you watch the G-Unit Reunion documentary, 50 is saying litterally that the problem was that they thought themselves as bosses and didnt understand why they still had to respond to him. He actually disagrees with himself.
@@Prime4494 what I got from that is they acted like bosses upsetting the group balance and their work ethic wasn't where their head was. I think 50 made perfect sense. I think 50 wanted more of a young money structure. Drake an Nikki always respected wayne publicly as the boss but put in their own work
Too much tip toeing around it. JBP podcast, Hot 97, Breakfast club .. everyone is scared to say 50 is wrong regardless of what he does or how he does it.
How is he wrong? Bro im surprised he didnt speak sooner, I been peeping how like for years Banks/Yayo/Kidd havent put in work despite being in a position to.
Mal said it. Just because you think somebody should be bigger doesn't mean that's what they want for themselves. And the fact that another man doesn't achieve the goals you want for him doesn't make him a failure.
not 9 times, as a leader of a group, with his momentum already behind him,..we seen his story play out,..he was at troy ave's level, got shot, came back, then signed with em..when he came back he was taking over the mixtape game,..once he signed with em.. it was OVER.. i remember when life's on the line was new..that shit used to play on the Pirate radio stations,..
50 has been saying this about the group from before gunit split up,through first time. That's why buck had the clothing line. They were expecting him to do everything, social media changed the music scene and they were not willing to self promote.
What you have to inner-stand is everyone is different not everyone is going to have the same drive and work ethic as you. This is why G Unit did not last as long as it should. All talented but only Fif has that animalistic work rate but at least he still put them on and help get them paid from there it's every man for himself...true or facts?
50 was better at being famous, Banks was a better rapper. Banks knew that, his passion 4 the pen was stronger than wanting 2 be in the lime light (social media, TV, etc.) Lets not act like everybody in the "lime light environment" appreciates lyrics & the craft. Thats one of the main reasons Joe is doing what he's doing now. 50 good at selling a vision (tv shows, movies, etc.) cause he know how gullible mainstream viewers are when it come to drama, suspense & entertainment. G-Unit could've had a long ass run if everybody in they circle knew what they individually brought 2 the table. I'm not even a G-Unit fan but u can here Banks expressing some of this in a couple of his mixtapes...F.N.O & All Or Nothing: Live It Up 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 the features & bars alone separates him from alotta of his peers (50 included) in my opinion.
I think the take away isn’t Banks wanting to be as big as 50 I think what I hear 50 saying is I got you here now you have to help move this further. Not wanting to work hard regardless of the level of success he wanted. It also sounds like they want the bag but don’t want to work for it.
Banks is a real one and one of the most underrated rappers ever. period.

Agreed
And I'm sure that's what Banks goal was...to get people like you to say yeah that's my favorite rapper...he wanted to be the PLK and not the 69's of this world. Nothing wrong with that.
There was a time where he was frustrated with his sales there’s a clip of him saying somethin like “Yo y’all want cold corner 3? Well ima see the pre-orders and if I don’t like it I’m not dropping it” and it sounds bad written down but when he said it, it sounded more like it came from a place of frustration rather than greed
@@InfiniteRedux yeah he was frustrated. I think in 1 if those tweets he said something about the fans not loving him or supporting him.
Can't say banks is lazy cause he probably has twice the amount of songs recorded as 50, but most of his work goes to mixtape, he's just more about the art he would probably be better in this era where he can reach the fan directly
So his name lazy lloyd was a lie?
Huh? Lol
Naah hell no that Banks has more material out than 50, besides his albums dude has put out mad mixtapes.. solo and with G'unit
@@Veikur1 never heard about him missing shows and just not doing his part. I bet Banks wanted to work with artist who he was a fan of but 50 beefin with everybody especially other big NY artists Banks probably was tired of that shit
Lol You must think 50 cent came out when in the Club dropped.. 50 cent was dropping music 5 years before you ever heard of Lloyd Banks._ Lloyd Banks doesn't have more of any kind of work out than 50 cent!!
Masco 24 he didn’t keep nobody from working with other artist just the niggas he was beefing with
Sumthin Epic he beef with all the east coast
@@purefire21 and a lot of the south who was on top he took shots at Wayne, T.I, Ross, Khaled and more while they were on their run.
Masco 24 yet people must of forgot went banks took a picture with game that 50 stop fucking with banks because of it. And when The Game wanted to do songs with other artists 50 stop fucking with him also. It’s 50 fault that his artist did get big because he block them from working with everyone
purefire21 him & banks been had stop speaking over the topic of this video not no pic of game, 50 & Game took a pic at a club
Nobody cares
Mals hoodie sums up this topic. Banks chose the love for hip hop over power and fame. Staying true to moral codes is a sign of success imo 💯
This is definitely the strongest conversation you guys have had that really made me appreciate my company and the people in my life who helped me elevate
Now u see they were better at talking about others than handling their own shit
Same way Jay Z warned Memphis Bleek & Beanie Sigel to stay hungry because 50 was coming.
Facts
All 50 said was he wish “HE” himself has been better at teaching or motivating them.
Facts!
5:14- 13:41 never seen Joe so quiet
This all comes down to what snoop said to asap rocky in that noisey interview, “bridging the gap” when you have a collective like g-unit you cant have 50 reaching these heights and his crew not following. Thats why naturally it fell apart cos 50 had to keep moving forward.
50 told the members of G-Unit “When we WIN we WIN together, when we lose you lose by yourself.” Curtis Jackson
considering how it went down thats how it shouldve been. 50 used his success to put them on. interscope didnt want solo albums from banks or yayo. after that they needed to grind.
It was interscope record that said that no 50 even banks said it in vladtv
Joe was like the wise sensei watching his students go @ it....
Banks could still get the bag.
Unlikely he had his chance.
or he could just live the life he live now and dont have to worry about chasing a bag. if he satisfied with the life he lives now that,s fine. not everybody have to chase a bag, sometimes people just get to a place where they are happy and live life.
@@jumboincredible he still gets 50k a show and has fans he still has a bag lol plus merch profits
dontizzle805 don’t forget the guy has a couple of albums that went platnium
Banks never wanted to be famous, he’s said that quite a few times in the interviews that he has done. I think for 50, he wanted his people to be on the same status as him but that didn’t work out at all.
@Tony Jr because you love doing it & it pays the bills? lol smh
Misogynist Prime so be a ghostwriter
@Nik3LOL you don't join G Unit, on Eminem's record label without "wanting to be famous" . infact. put the fucking work in, your on Eminem's label. step up and do the damn thing. He could have stayed on the clue tapes and been infamous. he took the step and let 50 down.
@@qcmg6889 you couldn't have came up under Shady records, no one did😂😂😂
@@twizzy6760 he's a rapper not a ghostwriter. maybe he enjoys rapping & performing, but doesn't want the b.s that comes with being as famous as a 50 Cent or Jay-Z? ghostwriters make less money than rappers that write AND have to tour & stage perform. all this boils down to is, banks is doing what he wants to do. not everybody is meant to be, or wants to be Jay-Z or 50 & reach those levels of success. with those levels of success comes a lot of stress, a lot of extra work & extra b.s that banks may not want to deal with. dude just wants to rap & perform & thats it. he may not want to be a ceo or entrepreneur. that life isn't for everybody.
14:19 Me realizing Joe don't want smoke with 50 Instagram.
this has to be the quietest Joe has ever been on a segment
he knows 50 gonna go at him..he dont want that heat lol
Because he know the TRUTh it wasent banks fault!
Lloyd Banks, Earl Sweashirt, Royce, MF Doom all live in the same realm of underrated
This is very consistent with what Prodigy said in “My Infamous Life”.
The 2 most loyal people in the group, yet 50 still talks shit n’ throws them under the bus.
If they were really “loyal” they wouldn’t let Game get that big w/o G Unit
@@Betoven81 "Let Game" what did you want them to do kill Game smh. How did they "let" Game get as big as he got? And so what if Game got big
Yayo is so loyal...this shit ain't even gonna affect him...he still gonna ride.
LoL LoL that sounds like stupidity
TOUGH LOVE bro..
When I first heard Banks on 134 Allstars mixtape, it was over. I liked him more than 50.
Love the joe budden podcast!!! 🔥🙌💯
Everyone goals are not the same and he seems mad that banks don't wanna be him. 50 has money not peace. Peace is priceless
Facts examine why g unit had NO peace find out why banks wasent so successful
Bills and problems won’t let you have peace when you are broke... you can never go wrong with having money
Some people are watchers.. They don't move if they are comfortable.. That's how I see banks he makes enough to live a nice life and that makes him happy
Yayo is just out right not markitable he's a likable guy from interviews I have watched but going to jail early in his career wrecked his momentum
Buck was the one.. Markitable had good music was likable and believable his downfall was how erratic he is and how that effects his life outside of music
j G very reasonable description
j G agreed. I loved me some buck. He the cousin everybody has or wants
I agree
Naaa it’s the boy booty that ruined bucks career 🤣
Banks lately been dropping more music so he’s probably gonna get his rise again, he was the best from G Unit with wordplay and punchlines. Yayo on the other hand.......yea
He spoke on Banks years ago. This ain't new
Banks got shot tho too. He talked about it on a song. If I remember correctly. Joe want no parts of this interview, cause he probably don't want beef with fif.lmao.
I swear Mal is intentionally obtuse sometimes. What is so hard to grasp about the definition of success being subjective?
Eva I know right? He’s acting like Lloyd banks didn’t accomplish shit. 50 said it himself Lloyd doesn’t want all the attention
I was wondering the same thing. Every time he says "again" I'm like fam everyone understood you the first time you're the one missing the point.
Hey Eva your right . Wana talk about it on I. g?
It's funny because in prodigy's audiobook he talks about a meeting they had at g unit where 50 wanted them to step up and they didn't....
Mal just be talkin. Rory clearly and concisely described the situation. Why all this back and forth.
In any situation between two people Mal will always cape for the person who is more popular.....
marty mcfly he’s such a band wagon
True af
I forgot Joe was there he was quite lol
HenRii Coleman thought his screen froze lol
Maybe if 50 didn't BEEF with EVERYBODY, G-unit would have been more successful. 50 forgets all the drama he caused.
Funny thing is that all of that supposed drama was industry shit not really street shit except the select few murder inc, lil kim situation, jimmy henchman
"Us against the industry, let's keep it like that"-PLK
Gunit doing the mixtape thing again would be dope af, there so many targets in the game right now.
- Get the strap.
Sometimes wishing too good for others can be a bad thing!!!
Lloyd banks is one of my favorite Artist, but fifty right the man is lazy when it comes to promoting his classic catalog of music. He could of shot a lot of videos for his mixtapes, and kept s buzz going until this day. He could hold his own on any song you put him with any top artist today.
I'm sad to say you're right.
Facts
The biggest thing to come out of G Unit besides 50 was Game.
IAmCassoo I never considered Game a part of G unit the group ... G unit was originally 50 , Banks & Yayo from the original tapes then yayo went to jail then buck came and actually made the group hotter and more appeal .. u right game did a few songs with them and had a g unit radio but technically he was just on the label to me .. but he had a whole coast out west I right n west coast support they own
50Cent gave Banks his respect 💯
Officer down is cold 😷
50 said this years ago...he came up under Nas and the brave hearts he said he was disappointed how Nas didnt set them guys up Nas and The Brave Hearts were the original g-unit that didnt happen.
Wyte Lester-Green I remember him mentioning that.
Yo to joes point which mite be his best point ever! As an energy person I find that the ability to see through energy is our greatest trait but also our biggest downfall and I believe it’s why socially people struggle with us particularly
Funny how things change, Rory
Lloyd banks should went to good music like pusha .
The IRONY of this conversation now in 2021
so cool that Mal was watching stuff on his phone with volume up while they played the audiobook.
Joe wasn't happy in slaughter house that's why he's staying quiet groups always have a power struggle.
Rory, go 'head with your grown-man talk!!!! 👏👏👏👏
I can see him standing on his own, with feature guests. 🏆
White boy is 100% on point with his perspective
Banks maybe lazy...and yeah yayo is yayo....but lets not act like 50 didn't add to the demise of G-unit. him beefing with everyone in new york was one major reason. G-unit had a great run but it was way shorter than it should have been and a lot is the music got weaker and weaker and beefs got more and more petty. when you known more for the beef than the music you are in trouble.
Look at Rory getting his "A" mic on.
Wrong video.
Yall gotta understand 50 wasn't just part of the group them niggaz was signed to him so ofc he got goals for his artists
Banks got a taste of a being a superstar and said fuck that shit . He still top 5 ✊🏾
I actually understand where 50s coming from n I agree with him
Yayo got comfortable being the hype man buck got comfortable spending 50 money and if banks had a choice he would of just dropped that first album and that's it
Everything I ever first did for money ended up wrong- Budden....great quote honestly
Lloyd Banks still 🔥🔥🔥🔥🎶🎶🎶🎶
50 cent cool but is being disingenuous again.
Damn I ain’t see it like that.
Disagree. Yayo not a star but he could still be successful as a mid level artist. But banks was a star
Banks is like shed or D Coleman hella talented but never reached their potential
@@Prime4494 what I got from that is they acted like bosses upsetting the group balance and their work ethic wasn't where their head was. I think 50 made perfect sense. I think 50 wanted more of a young money structure. Drake an Nikki always respected wayne publicly as the boss but put in their own work
50 is a legend.
He is not wrong. So many artist are waiting for their chance and 50 hands them a free ticket and they are too lazy to work at it .
Mal said it. Just because you think somebody should be bigger doesn't mean that's what they want for themselves. And the fact that another man doesn't achieve the goals you want for him doesn't make him a failure.
He's wrong for showing tough love? How?? Make it make sense..
Yooo I hate this friendly mushy ass generation.. Let's call a spade a spade
@@gregson8533 ok so you obviously aren't aware of G-units history/timeline.
the podcast make it sound like someone is in my house running water in another room. 🚿🛁
But wait didn’t Lloyd banks get shot too? So that statement mal made about 50 being shot and that making him motivate to be a mogul is a non factor
C facts banks did get shot too
not 9 times, as a leader of a group, with his momentum already behind him,..we seen his story play out,..he was at troy ave's level, got shot, came back, then signed with em..when he came back he was taking over the mixtape game,..once he signed with em.. it was OVER.. i remember when life's on the line was new..that shit used to play on the Pirate radio stations,..
Lacey Ochoa 123456789 doesn’t matter getting shot is getting shot lol
Lacey Ochoa stfu you don’t know how many times he got hit
Yeah banks got shot the night before 9/11 which is crazy
GO LISTEN TO LLOYD BANKS COLD SUMMER HE ADDRESSING 50 AND HE STILL IT NICE JUST DROOPED LIKE 5 DAYS AGO
What did he say
50 is a HUSTLER THAT RAPPED.
Banks is just an MC.
YaYo is just a hustler, not a rapper.
That's the problem! 😂
Banks has club bangers and great songs not JUST a mc
50 has been saying this about the group from before gunit split up,through first time. That's why buck had the clothing line. They were expecting him to do everything, social media changed the music scene and they were not willing to self promote.
How many hits 50 got without Banks writing the hooks?
Which songs ?
What you have to inner-stand is everyone is different not everyone is going to have the same drive and work ethic as you. This is why G Unit did not last as long as it should. All talented but only Fif has that animalistic work rate but at least he still put them on and help get them paid from there it's every man for himself...true or facts?
People think Jay-Z was supposed to hold the hand of his artists too
Lol this dude said “inner-stand”
Ha Coldest Summer freestyle Loyd Banks ETHERS 50 Cents lmao 🤣
50 hustled with Bank$ father, thats wild
Rory was spot on with his breakdown
I think the take away isn’t Banks wanting to be as big as 50 I think what I hear 50 saying is I got you here now you have to help move this further. Not wanting to work hard regardless of the level of success he wanted. It also sounds like they want the bag but don’t want to work for it.
