A spectacular autumn landscape, beautiful sky with free floating clouds and hints of pastel violet. Lively waterfalls trickle through a gorgeous autumn meadow-murmuring a language the two understand. White birch trees with jewel toned fall leaves serenely exhibits the calm, tranquil flow of nature in the midst of the most colorful seasons. Tall pines mingle throughout-an aroma of pine scent fills the air. A grand view, as I ponder in wonderment what finds would I encounter in the distant foothills. A well balanced, harmonious piece. Great palette with bold and rich hues. Brilliant brush work-bringing it to life, the ambience of autumns beauty. Finally, wonderful commentary Kevin. Thank you for sharing, and creating this place, God bless.
I enjoy watching you paint, and I love how you explain your techniques and your painting style is so simple and beautiful, this came out lovely Kevin. :)
Thank you for your time in teaching us. You are amazing and a Great teacher. Please make a full version of this youtube video....I will buy the first one.
Awesome. I love it when you point out things you want to change and then change them-and in this case, drastically. It shows the freedom you have as a painter more than painting itself, I can't explain it. Nicely done! I guess this is season 3 now? :D
Hi, Kevin only coats the canvas with a medium he now uses that can be found on his website. You will find an explanation about the medium and how he mixes it as well. He only uses the medium in the sky and water, the rest of the painting his done with straight from tube oils. From what I learned in his videos, he talks about using very little paint in the underpainting. The theory begin thus , the liquid white will tint your colors, thus they are not pure to their hue.
Hi, if you look on Kevin's website you will find he has his palette of oils for sale, included in the box is the medium he uses. He uses this medium to cover the sky and water area to allow for a smooth blend. From listening to him on his DVDs..he then paints on a dry canvas, 18/24 size. Painting straight from the tube allows for the colors to stay pure, true to the hues. If you use the liquid white, it does tint the colors applied over the white. His oils are very good, nice hues, and a limited palette. If you have the liquid white, and would like to paint as Kevin now does, use a very small amount for sky and water. I changed to his method, and really helps, as Kevin has indicated many times in his videos, the underpainting should have very little paint, just enough to cover, and scrub it in, you should be able to take your finger and slide it on the paint, and little or none should come off. Hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing your talents on youtube. I have spent a wonderful afternoon with your shows. I love all of them. I can't wait for more.

Hi Kevin, do you prime your canvas first? Or is it dry? Please let me know! Ty
Yes, he adds a thin cote of a white oil based medium.

Kevin have you ever thought of spending a long time on a bigger canvas to make a very detailed masterpiece?
Oh! There are some birds! Nice! :D

Hi
Big fan of your work, I got a question for you
Do you pre-coat the canvas with thinned white before you start with the painting ?
Thanks !
