Yep, it's pointless trying to define Ren as being a particular genre, lol. :) He writes and performs in almost every major genre and does so brilliantly every time! He doesn't miss! :) Tbf, I haven't heard him do opera, though it wouldn't surprise me if he did and I'd have no doubt that it would be epic! :) It's impossible to predict what the next Ren project will sound like, musically. The only predictable element is greatness! :)

There's a 7 woman group called XG who are doing some 90's style singing / rapping (some of it reminds me of TLC). I think you might enjoy their song "In the rain".

Looooved this reaction, after listening to this song/rendition at least 100 times! Speaking of reacting to female artists, Scarlett Fae, the tall singer, is definitely worth checking out. She has her own music channel and has a soulful jazzy R+B style all her own. Ren's photographer, Joe Flack, filmed one of her latest music videos. Ren is not only talented as a musician, singer, rapper and director, but he also has a knack for choosing the best musical partners, like Scarlett, Sylvia and Kai (on bass).
I love the vibe of this one, glad you did too! Scarlett Fae (lady with the afro) has her own yt too. Need to add Little Simz, Lady Leshurr, Cristale, and Teezandos to your female MC list. All UK rappers. Pretty different to a lot of US female rappers currently out there but I think you'll like the freshness, energy, and nods to the old school. Back on 74 is a lot like the music back in 1974. I graduated highschool in 73. That whole summer was about taking rides or walks with the music playing and soothing your spirits like Motown use to do. Part of you playing the video is you also sharing it with us at the same time. You can do that with Rens videos and you don't need a filter for his stuff. That way you get to monetize it for yourself Ren believes in sharing his rising tide with his commenters.

I think the original song by Jungle is talking about like 74th street or avenue but his version seems more like the year 1974
