@@js1241 how is it a fail? the show has always been about who takes over from Logan and the show made it very clear that he was never gonna leave his position until he goes out for good.
The show is called succession, its about which of his children or maybe someone from outside will take over his company once he stood down which I think by now was pretty obvious he wasn't going to do so the only way to conclude the show really was to have him die otherwise it would have been left open, with the question unanswered. I do think it's definitely one of the best shows of re ent years gonna need something real good to watch in its place.

absolutely!! it was an amazing choice for them to confirm his death so offscreen the way that they did. i was so reluctant to believe for so long, thinking to myself "this is so sad but i won't be fooled that easily..." even while i was tearing up at the sibs' reactions!
It truly is, Logan Roy is a legendary character. Brian Cox gave top tier acting for 4 seasons, I already miss him so much. His acting blew my mind every time.
Very shocking & well done episode! Brian Cox was recently on the Official HBO Succession Podcast where he confirmed he was only supposed to be in the show for the first season, so we now get to see what the 'succession' battle without Logan really looks like in the remaining 7 episodes of the show!
That makes sense since he damn near died the first season. It seemed as if his recovery was all of a sudden, or his illness was all a ruse to see how the kids would go about handling the business. Plus, the title of the show never made sense then because there never was a succession. Now there will be.
Logan may be a despicable person but i couldn’t help but be emotional from his death too, and even a bit traumatized because of how the children reacted (and the acting was at its peak, bravo), and how it was all filmed. it was like we were put in their shoes, wondering if their dad was really dead, and we couldn’t even see his face throughout the whole situation, only glimpses of his body and head. and seeing the trio act was heartbreaking; you could see them almost crumble up back into their child selves. no matter how much logan abused them, they still loved him, and it all showed through how they reacted & cried. kendall summed it up so well: “i love you but i can’t forgive you”. there is still so much i could say that made me love this episode. truly one of the best episodes in a tv show. if Breaking Bad had Ozymandias, Succession had Connor’s Wedding. Brian Cox, you will always be a phenomenal actor. Logan Roy was such a beast and his (physical) absence will be a huge gaping hole in the rest of the season, and it will be because of how Brian Cox really put himself out there. Of course, he was a main character, but Logan wouldn’t feel so powerful in the show without Cox’s acting. I’m really excited to see how the others will cope without him, even though we could say that he’ll never really go away from their lives.
It was actually nice seeing him, considering the episode. Really broke my heart. Even my husband was upset. He said, “ok stop it, you’re going to make me cry” 😢
After watching Succession, I still wasn't 100% sure he was dead. I mean faking his own death to F*ck with his kids, isn't something I would put past Login as a character. But at least after watching this I can settle on him actually being dead, so thanks for that.
I will miss Logan so much. Truly one of the best characters of all time, Brian Cox is a genius. Logan Roy and Tywin Lannister. Thats it, they are in their own category.
Super Troopers. Troy. Succession. X-Men 2. Deadwood. Braveheart. The Bourne Identity & Supremacy. Rob Roy. Rise of the Planet of the Apes. What an absolute legend.
I just realized I watched this episode of Colbert. I just watched all of succession in the past week so I’m consuming every interview I can. Wow I was so so late to the party
As a fellow, small down Dundonian, it gives me great hope that we won't all always be stuck here. There are better things if we just apply and push ourselves.
Sadly I haven’t jumped on the “Succession” wagon, but to me Brian Cox will always be leading the Helghan people in their glorious vendetta against the ISA. “Defenders of the Helghast dream, NOW IS OUR TIME!!!”
As someone that’s lost their father, the whole episode was triggering as hell. Fantastic television, possibly the best portrayal of creating the real atmosphere around losing someone but holy hell was it hard to watch.
It was so good to see him after him passing on Succession. When I saw Shiv saying Goodbye on the phone 📞 to him I just lost it when she called out “Daddy”. It was like losing my Father all over again. I remember the pain so well when they told me my beloved Father had passed and those emotions came rushing back over me. Logan Roy was a mean old Bastard. But, he was STILL there Father. And, Brian Cox played him to the hilt. Just an incredible performance 🎭. Logan Roy was a product of his dismal abusive childhood that he overcame to build an empire. Just to see how his children reacted to his passing as they all regressed into their childhood selves to deal with their grief was an amazing performance 🎭 by all. I’m going to miss this show. R.I.P. Logan Roy. Goodbye Succession 😢 📺🎭🙏🏽❌⭕️
When I tell you my jaw dropped… it dropped😱😱 The most shocking episode ever! Honestly, I felt like it was a sick prank that Logan was plotting (don’t ask me how 😂)… but seeing them removing him from that plane, I was like no no no what the hell😲😲
I'm still in denial about what happened in the last episode. I accidently spoiled myself beforehand so I was prepared but I can't imagine the show without him.

Pour one out to Brian Cox and his masterful performance. The show won't be the same without him.
