@@vholt1000 You got this! I was doing the keto diet, but not counting the calories and didn’t do intermittent fasting in the beginning and I wasn’t losing weight as quickly as I should be the minute. I changed it. That’s when the pounds were falling off of me. Intermittent fasting and counting my calories changed my life. I haven’t had fruit rice, potatoes, sweets, starches in over 2 years and don’t plan on touching them.

The bigger problem is: Why do we still have beauty pageants?
Why not? I definitely would keep them as the reminder that physical beauty is not all that subjective a category as someone would like to think. Neither it's an entirely social construct, but, fundamentally, a combination of biology (reproductive viability and health) and mathematics (golden ration, symmetry, etc). However, I would set some rules: participants should be 100% natural, i.e. no plastic surgeries, body parts enhancements, chromosome test confirming the sex, normal range BMI.

My doctor told me since I'm healthy but 25 pounds overweight he could give me a prescription for ozempic.
I was so surprised that he was so nonchalant about a serious drug, especially as I wasn't even there to talk about my weight. I said no. I figured using my own self discipline would be far healthier.

I built my girls' self esteem telling them how intelligent, beautiful and how they could accomplish anything they desired in life etc. My oldest daughter hated it. She said I made her feel she could never live up to my expectations! She went to a lifestyle directly in opposition to anything I ever hoped she would. She's now over 50 and has lost everything (including her children). My heart breaks for her but, all if her pain was due to her choices and I couldn't do anything to prevent it. The more I tried to help her see how she could have a better life the more she rejected anything I said. I am just befuddled!

As a mother with 2 daughters I can confirm that all of the "body positivity" messages they have been pumping out over the years has been terrible. I have 1 daughter that gets offended if I try to get her active. Yet I see her cry when something doesn't fit right. So i try to lead by example. Keep myself fit, eat right and she still fights me on everything. I am lost as a parent with all the crazy there is in America right now. And I know it's not just me. Her friends' parents have the same issues. We are all at a loss. Trying hard not to hurt them but also help them and parent them.
Now I understand why I travel outside of the US so much ........to keep my sanity!
