I look at it as a good thing honestly. Part of me feels like he knew how good she was, and didn’t want her to go through with the show. She would have lost a lot of musical control if she would have won. Artists have a lot of their own power taken away when they sign contracts like that. 🙏🏼 it all worked out

To be honest I can see what Simon means. You cannot listen to Tori's voice over a long period, it's a very shouty/screechy and high pitched, hurts your ears. She is good to listen to every now and then.

It is because she tend to close and tighten her larynx above Eb5. Although, her high notes are not entirely screechy. You can find tons of videos of her live that does showcase a healthier approach in her upper belts. Also, her songs does not always feature her upper belts, there are a lot of relaxed songs from her. One more thing, the audio quality of IG Live is awful in which Tori sounded more screech-ier. She isn't as screechy as you may think.

I think my problem is, considering tori, she has shown agility and transitions that are amazing, but that's doable for a lyric soprano who's trained for it, using fach system, with what she has shown, there's no coloratura aria she can sing, her range in modal voice stops at "c#6" at most, probably can be more if trained for it though, honestly I'm not all grounded on what I'm saying, I never considered "coloratura" as a fach similar to "lyric, spinto, dramatic etc" I see it as, singers can have voices with the potential to sing coloratura arias, but without the training behind it, it hasn't become 'coloratura' am I making any sense? To kind off explain what I mean, I believe "Natalie dessay" without any classical training wouldn't have been considered 'coloratura' though she has the voice for it
