If no one is on site make sure to run the ult back to your body for an easy pick up rather than chasing a spawn detain. They can run on the site hit but they can't run when bomb's down.
I think an underrated tip when using his ult is if you use it just to clear space or you can detain someone but you won't be close enough to get the kill just let it expire near you and collect it for later
Something that no one talks about is the fact that you can EASILY BHOP with thrash, i think you might just be able to hold jump but idk. It doesnt slow em down AT ALL.
One til would be to just lunge into easily accesible corners, and i believe it can also jump over small obstacles like the railing from C site into the water below potentially getting detains as the enemies enter site. Also, always ult when enemies are nearby your location, therefore you aren't in much danger after you detain them, and could pick thrash back up, and final til would be to use thrash in tight spaces, due to the small space, being shot at, all you have to do is lunge at the place the tracers come from and you can detain them that way, and you can aim it mid-air too so try to land always in the middle of the group of enemies and not the enemy in front.

I have a chronic case of "using my ult too early" syndrome, so gekko is great cause using it 10s too early lets me pick it up and recharge it

yeah I do that a lot lol, I feel like bhop with ult makes it faster, like it does in csgo. might just be my imagination though
