Just used it for the first time as soon as I got it in the mail yesterday. My first safety razor having used cartridge types forever. I've never had such a great shaving experience that now I can't wait to shave again! I keep checking the mirror to see if it's time to shave again.
Just ordered mine, i cant wait, i remember when i ordered the classic executive 6 blade from DSC, and was happy at how easy and cut free my shaving was almost all the time. Now i hope to feel that feeling again because i hate shaving and the DSC quality has changed since those years...
Just a tip: safety razor blades can be sharpened, and you can extend blade longevity by washing them, drying them well, stropping them against jeans or cardboard, and storing them in oil, or with their edges wet in oil.
I just got mine today, first time using a safety razor. Used Edge gel. Best shave I've ever had. It was especially nice under my nose and around my lips, which are always problematic with the big 5-blade heads. Hardly any pressure needed.
Ordering one today! Also, you guys should make a bigger point of advertising that the razor is made in Canada. I love supporting local businesses (and didn't realize it was made locally until I searched). Just some friendly feedback!
my razor came in the mail 3 days ago and... did you ask NASA for access to top-secret alien technology so you could make this razor? it's the only reasonable explanation for how easy it is to shave my legs with this thing.
Dear Henson Shaving, while I am waiting for my Ti22 Henson Razor to arrive, I have a question: this will be my first time with using a double edge razor…is it best to use one side of the blade at a time in order to maximize usage per blade, or does that even matter?
And no one seams to explain which way up the blade goes in? It has 1 - 2 markings on one side, then 3 - 4 on the other. Any difference? Thanks, v much first timer here.
@@simonyapp It shouldn't matter at all. The cutting edges of all safety razor blades are symmetrical unless they've explicitly stated that they've done something else. I've yet to see an asymmetrical blade.
I got confused when he said unscrew from the handle counter clockwise and it showed him unscrewing it clockwise. I wasn’t able to unscrew it from both directions but luckily i was successful in the end so it’s definitely counter clockwise it was just very slippery from the handle which had me speculating.
Can anyone from Henson tell me if you still carry the Ti22 ? I am looking for the new enhanced edition in Ti22 model, but I haven't seen any available for months. Are you guys still selling razors? I sure hope so, this is my favorite razor on the planet but what is going on with the Ti22 never being in stock? Do you only sell them to retailers now? If so which retailers?
Hello! I'm very interested in buying a safety razor. I only see the AL13 on their site. Could you tell me why you prefer the Ti22? If it's better, I'll wait for it to be in stock
@@BriseisMusic I bought the Ti22 after I bought my AL13, and knew that it was my favorite razor. The AL13 shaves exactly the same as the Ti22, but titanium is the superior metal. The Ti22 has twice the weight of the AL13 and that is the only difference. The machining on both razors is spectacular and both will last a lifetime. I still own both the AL13 and Ti22. You might want to send them and email to see when they plan to have more, you may be waiting a very long time unfortunately.
@@brianh2287 TYSM! This really helps. I'll just go ahead and buy the AL13. I'm not too worried about the differences if both are sturdy and perform the same. I'm used to plastic disposables, so the weight probably won't feel any different. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply!
No one is. Silly marketing. The presentations are very well done, but the razor is crap as usual. This is why the technology of disposable "5 blade" stuff has emerged. It works, much better.
These are over priced versions of razors that have been around a long time nothing new! I have a Gillette safety razor from 1961 original case and instructions too!
I love this razor, but I don't love at least 3 things about this video. 1. At 0:35, why would you show somebody grasping the blade like that? Why not tell people to grasp it from the tab on the end? 2. At 1:25, why would you suggest that shaving with just water might not be the best option for everyone? It definitely IS NOT the best option for MOST people! 3. At 1:55, you say "Start light and increase as needed" referring to pressure against the skin. As needed for what? Irritation and in-grown hair formation?
Thanks for the feedback Billy, 1. It's a valid way to hold and load the blade. I (the person in the video) personally find it easier to hold this way so my index finger and thumb aren't bumping into each other when placing the blade into the top cap, while also locking it onto the locating post right away. 2. If and when we do an updated how-to, we'll probably swap this one around as you suggest. That being said, many customers, especially women have told us that they just shave in the shower without using shaving cream now (also bearded men who are just doing quick neck/cheek cleanup). 3. If you start overly light, the razor (like any other) won't shave properly. So what we mean with "Start light and increase as needed" is we want new users to start with light pressure, and increase until the razor is shaving optimally while not causing any discomfort or irritation. As with point 2, in a future update we can make it a little clearer what we mean by this to help with any potential confusion.
Just used it for the first time. My 1st ever safety razor. It's mild (non medium) version. Amazing! Forgot the traditional 5/6 blades razors!
Nonsense. It's not close to 5blade razors at all, which just work.
Just finished my first shave. The best shave I’ve ever had! Never going back to cartridges. I’ll be ordering the pack of razors from you guys next!

Mine just arrived and I shaved. You really don’t have to push hard at all and it was a clean shave. Better than Harry’s 5 blade for sure.
Harry's is a super low bar. Compared to the latest Gillette razors this was not at all a close shave. Not even close. Stupid expensive razor so far.
@@morespinach9832 I guess the joke is on me. I stopped shaving and grew a beard. 😂

Nonsense. Crap shave.
What are the numbers 1-4 on the blade for?
Those are for the blade manufacturing company for quality control purposes. They have no use for the shaving user.

I saw a tutorial saying to alternate between sides with each pass
This is entirely personal preference, however, we do find most customers will alternate with each pass and rinse after both sides have been used.

Hi, will you be making a combo version of the razor (mild on one side and medium on the other)?
No plans for this right now, however it is on our radar.
Wow that’s actually a really smart idea. They need to hire you lololl
I didn’t have this amazing experience at all. Can anyone give me tips on shaving the neck area? This totally torched my face tbh!

How do I decide which version is best for my heavy stubble?
We generally recommend our mild to 90% of our customers. It can handle a lot. Avid DE shavers tend to prefer our more aggressive M option.
What does "+” and "B578" means and should they be aligned?
The + indicates mild/standard aggression and the other is for internal use. They do not need to be aligned.
Do I have to use Henson's proprietary blades for it to fit properly? or its generic double edge blades?
It will work with any standard DE razor blades.
I assume this wouldn’t tackle the weeds downstairs, even being a safety razor?
Im assming they would... they have a henson medium which is for longer or curly hair and a henson mild which is the normal one.
It cuts so much, am I the only one experiencing this?

Gillette can kiss my butt. They are a lousy product now (maybe they good before). Gillette is a huge scam and their razors suck.
