Yeah, finally a Delvaux video. As a Belgian its a very well know brand for us. I am the proud owner of 2 Brillants bag, a black mm and a dark brown in the size you show. I have a few other models too.One bag has a Dustbag with the same drawstring as yours. Boxes also changed and became more and more luxurious. Now the dustbag is indeed embroidered in gold and the boxes are dark brown with magnetic closure. Before the boxes where more reddish brown and later they became dark brown. And now a days they are sturdier and with the magnetic clossure. I have a Pinterest album about the Delvaux Brillant. And no, they don’t loose their shape. Their craftmanship is superb and I even read somewhere that Hermes is a big fan of the Delvaux brand!

I did my research after viewing this and I loved the bag more every time I saw it. Barneys carried this brand and with the store closing I was able to purchase the Brillant and the Tempete! I got both bags in the MM size. They have both arrived and I can't wait till Christmas to carry them! I have no regrets about choosing the Delvaux over the Chanel! Both are classy, beautiful bags! It's a beautiful piece to add to your collection but for sure the practicality is a turn-off for me, I need easily accessible bag, and I think that's the advantage of a B or K since you can carry it open. Can't wait to see you style it though! Enjoy!

This bag has been growing on me for quite a while already: initially I accused it of being too lady-like, but I've started appreciating its class and simplicity, so a Brillant is on my bucket list for 2019-2020. By the way, the brand name has an O (pronounced like in "Ontario") and not a U at the end (the -aux combination is always an O in French), but it's just a minor remark. Talking about "understated" luxe brands, have you ever tried or thought about a Bottega Veneta bag? I'm really interested in your impression of the brand. I found in the secondhand store 2 delvaux bags for 6 dollars each). In one of them was mirror inside. Perfect quality! And perfect price)

Delvaux is way more lux than hermes in my opinion ... I own both brands ... Hermes is somewhat exaggerated / inflated and over-rated ...

Probably it came from Belgium because the certificat has a typical Belgium Name and the directions are in Dutch! If you ever think about selling it, I will buy it!!!

Gorgeous bag and color. The buckle looks like real gold, much better than modern Chanel. Understated is confident elegance.
Your video inspired me to research not only this brand but also a new fave: Mark Cross (first US lux leather goods brand since the mid 1800s). I found one of each, vintage and I pulled the trigger on the MC. I now have 2 MC bags both under $100 in excellent condition and the smoothest leather I've ever touched when they might be older than me.

Were you ever interested by le tempete? If so, how did you make the decision? It looks closer to the Kelly imo and the pic of the lady on the stairs you used is fabulous! It might be fun if you could do a video on the bags (styles) you didn't buy!
Hey princessdyn always good to see you! Such a good idea for a future video, thank you for sharing that with me :) I'll add it on my YT to-do list but i do apologise it may take me a while to get there as i'm terribly behind schedule! Strangely i never fell for the Tempete even though structurally it is very reminiscent of the Kelly. I personally LOVE hardware as a central feature and even though the bag does feature hardware via the 2 horizontal straps, to me it lacks the wow-factor single focal point. Like the CC interlocking logo on flap bags or Gucci dionysus clasp on the bloom bag or Hermes lock & touret on the Birkin/Kelly. The tempete is definitely elegant and understated though so you can't go wrong with it :) I'm currently working on my video re how i scored my Hermes Kelly in France so will share that with you soon! Delvaux just opened a store in NYC. I have walked past it many times since it's close to my office but I have chickened out from going in :) I want a vintage one!

CMK on another note in my opinion the Le Tempete looks more like the Kelly and boy oh boy the gladiator version is edgy and classy all at the same time. Is this something you would be open to purchasing ?

Great to hear you're interested in vintage Chanel! I have heard of Moynat but so far i must admit i haven't been drawn to any of their designs. I have heard their quality is superb through. Good point re Le Tempete, the lines definitely echo the Kelly and i agree that it has a very edgy, city chic persona. I think the saving also came from the timing - this was when Delvaux was rising in popularity in Asia but still relatively unknown in the West so Japanese sellers probably weren't receiving much buyer interest. The market today for Delvaux is surging!
