Idc what anyone says, Christi will always be my favorite dance mom. She’s real. She’s not a phony and doesn’t act fake. She calls it as she sees it and doesn’t let BS go on while being a bystander. She stands up for people and has even stood up for people she wasn’t particularly fond of because she knows right from wrong no matter who it’s against. She stands for what she believes in and doesn’t switch up or act fake or lie. She’s fair and has strong morals and that’s why she raised such kind, stand-up, young girls/women.
And even when she may step out of line, she always owns up to it and apologizes, and even when she may step out of line there’s usually a REASON! She doesn’t just step out of line to be evil. All the times we’ve seen her step out of line there was a reason for it even if that’s not an excuse, at least she’s not like certain other snake a** people who always stepped out of line for NO reason at all.
Christi was real and raw and genuine. She was human and straight up. I never got any phony vibes from her and I still don’t. Her and Kelly are the best moms to me. They actually had enough respect for themselves to leave an abusive, toxic, and racist environment that wasn’t helping their children and they always stood up for their children and others along the way, and who cares if they cursed or got rowdy?! That made them much more real and relatable to me! And at least they spoke facts and were funny asf 98% of the time!

not all of us have been so 'privileged' to have had some of our biggest mistakes aired on television, but I am glad that ended up being a positive experience because you learned and grew from it. So proud of you, love you so much

I really appreciate your talking about your fat shaming. Re-watching the show with my friend, that is the only thing that really makes us cringe coming from the moms. Your perspective on it is so genuine and shows such growth and compassion for the impact your words have on impressionable girls.💕

Christi, this REALLY did make me feel quite a bit better. It's so silly, but I frequently get in my own head and make myself believe that mistakes and regrets are things that are exclusive to me, and that I'm just a worse person than the people all around me. I have these things that I did when I was maybe 13-16 years old, and I think about them often, and they still can make me cry because I feel so bad. But we ALL have those things we did that we wish we could take back, and besides that, I was so little!! I'm only 21 now, my brain still isn't done growing; I HAVE to stop being so hard on myself. You're still a good person, and so am I!! Thank you for being so open like this. You're bringing immense relief to people like me, who thought ourselves to be irredeemable monsters. We CAN move forward in a positive direction.

A wise mother once told me. “If you do not wake up in the morning feeling guilty, you are probably not a mother”.
I would replace the word “mom” with “caretaker” to be more inclusive to the real world for some families. But, holy my oh my!
That is so real and true. You are not alone. 🤗

I will admit that this video made me like you a bit more. Thank you for apologizing for fat shaming. It makes a difference. I’m a grown woman but I cried for Chloe when she was mistreated. I loved watching her dance. I never enjoyed watching how mean the moms were. I’m glad to see that you are more introspective and that you have grown.

I always liked Christi because even when she stepped out of line she apologized and owned up to it but also her stepping out line was understandable most of the time, like it’s not like she was doing it or lashing out for no reason. Meanwhile others around her were snakes for absolutely no reason at all.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I follow you and all the other moms on Instagram and tiktok. I feel like the show didn't portray everyone fairly. I know that reality T.V. shows can destroy relationships. I also know that a certain dance teacher pushed all the moms to the limit. That's why I loved season 7. You, Jill, Holly, kira and camile broke free from her reaches and the girls were able to show their true potential without the dance teacher. I'm glad that I can see a the mom's true personalities and how they have changed after the show. I've checked up on the dance teacher and, I know you had the worst experience with her, but she has seemed to change. She reacts to the group numbers and solos and she has said nice things about the girls. No one can invalidate your experience with her, because that's part of your identity, it makes you who you are. I know that you are still pretty close with Kelly and holly but I'd just love to see or hear about your relationships with some of the other moms, because I know that Melissa and Jill were blindly following the dance teacher during their time on the show. Now that the show is over, maybe they've changed. No matter, I have so much respect for you. No one was perfect on dance moms. Everyone had their bad days. But I love how you're so caring and genuine. I love getting to know you more and I feel bad for casting any judgement on cast members because at the end of the day, it was reality TV and it wasn't fairly edited. I love you and always have. ❤❤

I have been struggling with an eating disorder all throughout this time, and while your comment didn't personally offend me, I think it's so wonderful that you have so much awareness about these kinds of comments which most adults would say without a second thought! This video was really reassuring to me as I constantly worry about all the perceived "mistakes" I make in life

The ONLY thing that royally pissed me off about the mom's was the constant body shaming. Especially since most of the kids had/have eating disorders. That was not okay. I appreciate that you were always the one to own up and apologize when you cross a line.

  • @mimiray7836
    @mimiray7836 2 года назад +7

Christi, I have a lot of respect for you and love you but I really just don’t understand your first ‘mistake.’ Loving someone and putting trust in someone is never a bad thing on your part. If they betray, it’s a bad thing on their part and then it’s a smart choice to leave. If you don’t leave when seeing they aren’t who they say they are, then it becomes your mistake.
By saying that you forgive yourself for choosing to trust the wrong people, you’re unintentionally victim shaming. Nobody knows who will betray them. It’s not a fault on them when betrayal happens.

Having grown up in a home with two very traditional Italian Catholic parents, I know the toll guilt can take. It was as if you couldn't go through life without feeling guilty about something - anything!
It's an emotion that can get out of hand quickly and easily!😕
(This was MY experience, I'm sure there are many who gain hope and strength through the church - it just didn't fit me🤷🏻‍♀️)

I think we have all made similar mistakes and the sooner we can forgive ourselves AND take responsibility for our own actions the happier and more effective we will be.
I also think we need to remove “should” from our vocabulary as well as “I am supposed to____” as these both just lead to guilt and same.
Just one more thing I have heard another influencer say lately that I really like is “we make the best decision based on the information we have at the time” Which is another way to me of saying we need to let go of the guilt and forgive ourselves and others

I agree with you about going to NY, I would say I wish I waited to have my first child. Just to have that young adult living on your own and that freedom just to have that experience, but I also had my first child when I was 19 and thought I found my “true love”. But also that experience made me a better person and stronger. So I don’t think I would change a whole lot just maybe had more confidence in myself so I could protect myself.

She said she needed some time off and i absoulutely respect that but i am sad about the fact that we were very close, but i think i did something wrong. I am verry sad but i hope she texts me soon and shares her opinion. If she says she doesn't want me in her life i will accept with, but i would still feel guilt and if she says she will be with me i would be happy. Whatever happens she will always remain my friend and i will always be there for her. Hope she realises that. Love you Christi🥰🥰

I agree. Having to deal with Abby, the producers, long hours and traveling etc would stress anyone out. I like that Christi didn’t put up with any crap when Chloe was being mistreated. That’s what I liked about her and Kelly, plus they cracked me up. It wasn’t the same when they left. Plus having other children/family at home, I would’ve lost my mind if I had to go through(as Dr. Holly would say) that experience. Ha!

There were only three times that we saw you getting frustrated with Chloe, out of all those episodes and competitions. It's good to see you take ownership and responsibility for that, and realize that even though you in hindsight can see the reasons and the big picture and what you actually were trying to do, you also now realize that a 10-13 year old mind isn't capable of seeing all that, she just saw her mom being angry at her. You've come in for a lot of criticism about this issue recently on Reddit, so hopefully this will let them see that at least you recognize it was wrong.
The other comment I want to make is that all those "shoulds" can get in the way of your life; however, unless you want to be a hermit, sometimes there really are things that you should do, especially if they won't take much time. Sometimes sending a card or letter to an elderly relative means so much to them - or making sure you're tending all your relationships. Sometimes loving others, such as your family members, requires that you do some things that you "should" do. I found this out the hard way after feeling the way you currently do for a long time. People can feel unnoticed, unappreciated, or unloved, when certain things they need don't happen...maybe it's an unrealistic expectation that needs to be discussed, but sometimes it isn't. Like you touched on earlier when you were saying it was a mistake to be busy so much, when you should have paid more attention to your kids at times. I'm sure they realize that you have been a dedicated and devoted mom, more than so many moms in fact have been. You have been there when it counted the most, when they were younger.

I was expecting to hear some really ugly, horrible regrets from the way you started the video, by saying please please be kind in the comments. I didn't think any were bad, except maybe the fat shaming comment. Not making excuses but if you are seeing your kid being bullied and some lady screams horrible things about you and your daughter, that's most likely when people just blurt out something mean, easy and nasty comeback. Obviously everyone has lots of regrets, but your own (meaning everyone's) regrets seem worse to themselves than to other people. I don't know if that all made sense, it's hard to try and type this rather than speak in a conversation.
