  • Heart disease, stroke and diabetes are prevalent in much of West Virginia. In small towns, there aren’t a lot of places to buy healthy foods or exercise. Transportation, insurance and cost issues can make it difficult for people to get medical care. But dedicated members of the community are working to make a difference, educating their neighbors, growing healthy foods and modeling healthy behaviors for future generations.
Health Wanted: Finding Care in Rural America is a documentary series focused on specific challenges rural Americans face as well as the community efforts to overcome them.
