I’m from a city outside of Philly and I remember vividly Black Thought in freestyles, battles, and cyphers. His scholarly response to social illness, politics and the state of hip hop is extraordinary and what’s amazing is his progression from album to album. Don’t let the Jimmy Fallon shit fool you. Hip Hop’s Clark Kent is a Superhero with lyricism, substance, diction, flavor, power and poise. Tariq Trotter will dig in your favorite emcees ass like a colonoscopy. Like EST said “Believe Dat.”
