Did I hear her right, we are not a party of protests- if it wasn’t for protests workers wouldn’t have any rights. I don’t know what’s going on with labour but it certainly is not a workers party any longer!

@@spacebound1522 Workers have protections under both parties, so that has nothing to do with it. Unions also become corrupted and destroy businesses (= jobs), and thats how the pendulum swings. You cant have all power to "workers" because they also abuse the system just as corporations do.

Well Jones was very wrong. He said that Russia / Putin is called a war criminal without the international court saying. This is untrue. Putin has a clear arrest warrant. Owen's favourite government of South Africa actually changed one of their laws so they wouldn't have to arrest him.

@@SMILEITMIGHTNOTHAPPENYET They wanted to, this was from their manifesto. It's a uni-party thing. They are both going in the same direction but some things only Labour can do, like hurting pensioners and the NHS. Some things only the Tories can do, like hurting Unions and workers.
Are they different? yeah, kinda. Labour generally attract/appoint more intelligent and able personnel, which results in slightly better results for the country.

I'm staying in case I have the opportunity to vote Keith out and put a socialist in. Everyone who was in the party prior to Starmer's leadership should have done that rather than storming off in a huff at the first hurdle. The Left is its own worst enemy.

Everything I've seen of the conference so far is the joy expressed by the Government of distancing itself from the Labour Party's founding values, the difference now is there's little pretence. This is politics as a career rather than a vocation.

I know I'm going to get some static for this, but I really believe the average working person in this country is far more worried about the spiralling cost of living, the fear of even higher taxes, the crumbling NHS, the almost impossible task of getting a Dentist, the increased insecurity of their job. I spoke up about the winter fuel allowance on my local MP face book post. All I said was the bar should be raised for the allowance and that the policy is giving traction to Reform.

When the Australian Labor Party came to power in 2022 it was almost exactly the same. So many people were hoping for change after ousting the previous conservative govt, but to say the electorate is disappointed would be an understatement. The ALP will be in real trouble at the next election.

These arguments justifying the acceptance of gifts, donations are a pile of ordure. Turning down tickets for a Taylor Swift concert should be de rigueur for any politician.
