@@7ANUBIS-MC Lol, stop what? Samus is a top tier metal drummer (and has been since Abigail Williams) but there's very few that could play this song note for note. As a musician yourself I'm sure you can see that nobody here said anything incorrect lol.

Like so many, the Kingdom reactions got me interested in this dude.
Towards the conclusion of lockdowns, had just lost the job, and personal issues piled up exponentially.
There was no money, no love, no hope, and no idea on what to do...
I waited until wife and teenage daughters weren't home...I decided that my continued existence on earth was unnecessary. I was ready to go, i turned on RUclips very loud..."Kingdom " had just ended, i put blade to skin and began pressing...
Out of seemingly f*cking nowhere...Almost Again started, i began to wipe the tears away (much like I'm doing now.).
:Something," about this song mesmerized me...the blade remained in place...so, i restarted the song again, then a 3rd time...not only did i drop the weapon, but it seemingly fell off the face of the earth.
I know this is just the blowing up process..I know Devin or his band will never read any of this...maybe my story can inspire someone else, about to make that same decision...

I can envision some metal head singer winning one of those singing talent shows with this song. Such an incredibly difficult song to sing with just the right mix of harsh and clean vocals.

Almost fifteen years after releasing The New Black and his voice has barely aged.
If anything, it got more refined and aged like fine wine.
He has an incredibly unique voice. One part that is rarely brought up is that he has a lot of "improper" techniques, like holding thin or nasal vowels. It's very rare to see a combination of incredibly talented and professional with stuff that would make any vocal teacher slap you. Also, a nice touch is that his vibrato is pretty much always matched to the song's rhythm, usually in 8th note triplets. In this one specifically, his vibrato is faster than usual, 8th notes with a faster than his average bpm, or 16th notes if you base the tempo on his vocals.

Devin Townsend is prolly one of the most underrated metal masterminds of the whole genre. Dude is an excellent songwriter,awesome vocalist, on top of being a badass producer. The guy just seems like a total down to earth human being
Let's not forget, he's a pretty bad-ass guitarist as well. Even Steve Vai said so in an interview, and that says A LOT.

His incredible Voice always makes me sobbing. I can believe in god when i'm listenning to Devin Townsend.
Man I bought this and I sat with my cousin, it was amazing . Took a day off work, it was an experience during Covid. 😅 I was working too much, and this live concert kinda thing , wasn’t live. But, it helped me. Devin love you, and this was an awesome moment to share with my family, he knows the name but doesn’t get into your music. When we watched your stream, he was amazed ,just keep on keeping on. 😂 you are an amazing person and very inspiring, I show ppl your music they not like it at first, but man they humming stuff after and I laugh at that.

Saw Strapping Young Lad live 3 times back in the day. Fucking epic, also got to see Gene play in Death, Testament, and Old Man's Child. I think Samus did Gene proud on these songs.

2. No one can exactly replicate Gene’s feel, and I’m sure Samus would be the first to admit it. Different drummers approach the same material differently
Hmm I noticed with this and the other videos up on RUclips from this concert you can't even hear Samus' upper register at all. Sometimes he is smashing the cymbals and ... nothing.
@@timwatson9198 Yeah this uploader's recording is pretty terrible, sounded a hell of a lot better on StageIt. There was another uploader called DevyFan or something who had good quality uploads, but they were all taken down.
