We Italians are Saints, Poets and Sailors.
We will continue to sail around the world, make poems and try to forge a world worthy of the benevolence of God. Whoever he is. Whatever the name you want to call him.
We're all the same on this tiny rock.
But togheter we will live in peace for many, many years.

Amerigo Vespucci was given its moniker "The most beautiful ship in the world" in 1972. In the Mediterranean Vespucci crossed paths with the US Navy's nuclear super-carrier USS Independence. Following naval tradition Independence hailed Vespucci to identify itself, demanding: “Who are you?” Vespucci replied: “School ship Amerigo Vespucci, the Italian Navy." Spontaneously breaking with naval tradition, the mega-warship replied: “You are the most beautiful ship in the world,”
60 years later in the Adriatic Sea, Vespucci again crossed paths with another US Navy nuclear super-carrier, the USS GW Bush. Again, GW Bush hailed Vespucci, which responded "The Italian Navy ship Amerigo Vespucci, a senior national vessel in active duty." And again breaking with naval tradition, the mega-warship replied: "Amerigo Vespucci, you are still the most beautiful ship in the world."

Imagine that the Russians got her twin ship as war reparation, and they let her rot in the Black Sea.
