Although I personally choose not to like or dislike this video, even I can understand disliking's quite plausible. Or how does a meat-eating Buddhist sound to your ears, people? No need to answer to this post for I'm not looking for debate mates. Thinking's encouraged here. That is all.
I’m not a student or follower of Adam Mizner and his method, and sometimes have some differences of opinions with the way he does things, but this is one of the best pieces of rhetoric about Yi, and how to develop it through internal martial arts. I completely agree with what he’s saying here.
I'm still in AWE😮 that just a few clicks after discovering you on youtube I hear the most precise explanation about the experience of my bodywork practice ... the key of pure magic... All I had to do is: ask, how does he do that??? and BOOM💥 Saturate the body with the 💜&🧠 fluid so the most joyful juices of creation seep into every cell of the body & absorbed fully >that's the breath! + the commanding part , the quality of the intention + perform the move with refined precisement ... the magic lies in the fine details! + I like to add singing too because the vibration of the sound created within the body is sooo powerful ... I'm gonna learn & absorb all of your teachings like a sponge ... thank you🙏👏
VERY valuable and structured information i believe not only for tai chi chuan but for tradiotional kung fu as well.THANK you sifu adam for sharing with us such valuable lessons.GREETINGS from Greece!!!
Really grateful for your knowledge. I try not to read / watch too much about Taiji, so my mind does not get in the way of my experience, using my imagination rather that really listening to what is happening in my body, like you mentioned in the video. I think for that same reason my Shifu does not give us a lot of theory, but he makes us stand, keep the posture, and comes and corrects any minute detail with perseverance and patience. I try to keep this attitude when training, however I have to admit that is an arduous road, where quite often it feels like I am either progressing too slow or not doing something right, like walking in a dark room. I guess my impatience gets in the way at times, considering that Taiji is a way of life, and the more I practice the more I realise I have got so much to learn and you can’t rush things, like that Chinese saying, ‘you cannot help the sprouts to grow faster by pulling them up the ground’ It is both an encouraging and discouraging feeling, however watching your video and seeing Shifu teaching, it comes to me not as an impossible, I just need to work harder even though there is so many things I still don’t understand, so your video is very motivating and I thank you for that 🙏
Thank you for this. I have noticed that it takes a lot of energy to hold the mind states required for internal arts that I had become to take for granted. I can fall right into the mind state still but cannot hold it for very long anymore without becoming energetically drained. This advice is exactly what I needed.
Thanks for the excellent explanation Adam! I love what said about the strength and length of concentration. I am a Wing Chun practitioner in the Chu Shong Tin lineage and we understand this skill however it has been somewhat hidden at least outside of Hong Kong. It is really interesting to get your take on it, thanks!
I have noticed that a lot of what Adam says reminds me a lot of what I hear from the Chu Shong Tin lineage. Do you think that the two systems are pretty close?
Far7anR there are definite similarities aren't there. We emphasise the state of Sung, the use of the 'present Heart mind' Nim Tau, the 'strength and length of concentration' of Yi as Adam speaks about here. I have no Tai Chi training at all, went from kickboxing straight into Yip Man/ Chu Shong Tin/ Jim Fung lineage Wing Chun. I find it very complete but am very interested in Tai Chi, would like to know more about it. I am romantic enough about Chinese kung fu to believe that we all descend from the ancient arts of Shaolin :-) I think the secrets in the Dragon scroll ha ha ( have you seen Kung Fu Panda 1). Great knowledge hidden within that pretty fable
Far7anR thanks mate, very kind of you to say so. Different traditions yet describing common but hidden human abilities. And we are both Aussies 😀 Cheers and appreciate you subscribing!
Many thanks for your honest and clear words. It helps me a lot to understand better some aspects of Taijiquan. Time for me to implement that in my practice. Please share some thoughts of Buddha's teaching in your approach to Taijiquan.
@IVIS Taiji this is my real name. Wrf is ivis taiji? You used than when you should have said then. What are you talking about posting real things? Adam Minzer doesn't have super powers!
Is it EEE or YEEE? Excellent video, thanks.where can a beginner start. I am slowly building awareness of my chi flow. I would like to head towards controlling intention.
Trully powerful video! I feel I'll need to rewatch it many times until every word is caught by my wandering mind. Thank you for the upload, and thank you, Adam! For existing.
I am focused to the extreme whilst practicing Taiji (HHS system) but as soon as I leave the building I become distracted. Thank you for any suggestions. I am 68 and started MA at 14….I was child refugee from Hungary. 1957.
hi Adam when you say projecting qi outside the body depletes your energy, do you HAVE to do that when using tai chi for martial arts? Unless its a different kind of skill that is used when you do so?
Would you recommend separate samatha meditation for developing the Yi? (with an object of concentration like the breath, an external physical object, etc.) or is it enough to train the Yi through the Tai chi training (listening to the body etc)?
Lots of questions I would like to ask Adam. The western paradigm of of the view of body/mind ,is that the mind is an extension of the body.Does he hold a contrary view that actually that the body is an extension of the mind.Such a view opens up an almost limitless wealth of possibilities far beyond simply learning to wiggle your ears.Or,since I get the feeling that he is a Buddhist, does he actually hold that there is neither body nor mind, which takes us to realms where control of anything is entirely superfluous.
The value of this kind of instruction is enormous. I'm baffled that somebody has downvoted it. Bizarre.
the haters subscribe ;)
Those with ears to hear... ;)
There will be many people not ready to understand this, much less ready to hear it.

The issue with taiji is that you should practise to understand and you need to feel to know. The people who are downvoting have never practised taiji.

Saturate the body with Ting & Yi or the nervous system?

no need to project it out no
Master Adam is it posible send the Chi out of body for defense and avoid an ataker?
