  • Novak Djokovic beat Carlos Alcaraz in the ATP Tour Finals by using a counterintuitive strategy. Djokovic won all 12 of his T serves in the deuce court, and on 5 of those points he attacked Alcaraz's forehand with the next shot, instead of his backhand, which is what conventional wisdom would tell you is the smarter play.

    OK, so stats, right? But why are more errors hit from the back corner of the deuce court position? What makes this happen?

      He explained it. They are off balance more on that side so it lowers the success rate.

      Plus we tend to overhit our forehand (go for to much) especially on the run.

      thought it was more winners were hit from the add side than the duce side, not neccessary errors
