@@SteveM-gj2vyI can think of four. 1)Madison, WI 1975. My first concert to see them live and the one where I could first drive. 2)Alpine Valley, East Troy, WI. The last live concert that Terry Kath played in WI before his death. He was wearing his Pig Nose T-shirt. 3) Alpine Valley Sept 9 & 10 1978. Guitar player Donnie Dacus (who I thought was an awesome addition) but after the concerts you could just see the looks on the original members’ faces. It wasn’t going to last. 4) Desert Diamond, Sahuarita, AZ, where I live. Sept. 25, 2005. The first time my wife had seen them. Now, she’s a fan. Somewhere in the 80s, I can’t remember when, there was a backlash building against musical acts whereby the length of the concerts had shrunk to like an hour. I saw one of the perpetrating acts, Kenny Logins, who provided us with 45 minutes. People were pissed. Articles were written about it. Chicago must have seen it, because they announced at one of the concerts I attended in the 80s, that there concerts would be 3 hours+ long, minimum.

@lingoss5328 Jimmy was tremendous. I've never seen Chicago before and actually didn't know much about the band, just bought the tickets and went to check them out. They blew my expectations away. The video doesn't do it justice. The experience, being able to stand up next to the stage, it was like I was on stage with them. Jimmy blowing that trombone right at me, was somewhat hilarious, but so cool at the same time.
I got to meet them before the show and take pictures, but I didn't know any of them at that time. I wish I could have met them AFTER the show instead. They made me a fan, for sure. They were all nice guys too.

The other was at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. That's when they were at their best...especially with Terry Kath, Peter Cetera, and Danny Seraphine. I have seen Chicago numerous times over the past 50 years.
I just saw them last year and once again, Robert took the night off. That is what is happening. These guys are 80 years old. It is understandable. Health issues are common. It is time to call it a career and enjoy the rest of their lives with family.
Nobody would blame them for a well deserved rest.
I know for me, I will not spend any more money to go and see “Chicago” when there is a very good chance one of the 3 that’s left will not be performing. It is not Chicago anymore. It has happened 2 times for me in the last few years. Once it was James Pankow and the last time it was Robert.
They will always be my favorite band. No band will ever match their musicianship and talent but “Father Time” has made his presence known. It happens to all of us. 😢

I would be home in my air conditioning listening to the recordings when they were really good especially at the cost of tickets today. I am 69 and am a musician and love this era of music but I don't need to see old guys trying. And as a drummer the current drummer overplays compared to the iconic Danny Seraphine parts. Tris Imboden blended nicely on drums also while changing some things. But I guess in a consumer driven economy as long as people are willing to pay these guys will be out there.

A few years back, Reo Speedwagon opened for Chicago in Irvine, CA, and they went the first 90 minutes having played one song that we recognized. When we were leaving, they played Hard to Say I'm Sorry, but that was the only other song I knew. Several people from my class of 1988 had similar experiences and said stuff like "I guess I don't like Chicago as much as I thought I did." I'd way rather see more guitars than horns.
