    I loved your wildlife “twist”! It really added that extra something special to your beautiful painting. I’m surprised Bob didn’t include more wildlife in his works, since he had such a big heart for all of God’s little creatures 😌

      @PaulRansonArt  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes Kerri - Bob did try wildlife and portrait but it wasn't his thing he once mentioned on a video. He said he'd left it to others who would do it better and stick to what he knew and loved. But had he lived longer who knows what he might have done - enjoy my twists and have a great week - Paul 😃😍😎

    Great painting and very sorely needed, I find myself NOT painting at all because I don't know what to paint, and the thought of getting everything out to do it just seems daunting and discouraging. This one looks like fun, so even if I screw it up I'll probably enjoy the process. I'll try not to over "analisalisalisize". Sounded like a word to me 🤷🏻‍♂️🤓😜

    • @PaulRansonArt
      @PaulRansonArt  11 месяцев назад +1

      hahahaha - yep the over analising is a pain in the butt! Oneday I'll say every line spot on and it won't sound right! Oh well back to the drawing board - now go paint something simple just for the fun of it. If not get a few pencils and sketch what evers in front of you. Any art is good art if it inspired you. 😃😎

      Hi Stephanie - wow so nice to hear how your journey is evolving. I think quite a few folk give up too soon because of the pressure we apply to ourselves. In a world full of instant satification and now AI generated perfection a little hamanity is whats needed. I leave in all my mistakes just to show its OK to have fun and still make a nice painting ! Have a great week Stephanie 😃😍😎

I think it was a complete and humiliating disaster!! Lol 🤣😂 so please Paul keep up your excellent landscape tutorials 👏 👌 they are such a help to a beginner like myself , see you next Sunday 🐈🐈‍⬛🦮

    I'm so glad I found your page. Your voice is so soothing and your paintings are beautiful. I am a new oil painter. I am struggling to use the fan brush for the bushes. In my opinion, it was awful. I tried twice and it was very frustrating. Can you make a video on using the different brushes? This video was quite dark to really see the technique. Thanks.

      Hi Sharon - thanks for dropping by and saying 'hi' I have made some video a while ago that feature the brushes and how I use them. Here's one of them ruclips.net/video/sT5IX0SDcco/видео.html This is all about painting bushes and the some mistakes and fixes. Now, keep in mind some thechniques need a lot more practice. It took me a long time to master my brushes - fans being a pet hate for some time. So give yourself time to learn and experiment. Hope this help - Paul 😃😃🥰🥰😎😎

    Do you use bob ross thinners or zest it, or something different as you paint? Both links are in the video description, but they're never referenced as something that you're using during the video. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

    • @PaulRansonArt
      @PaulRansonArt  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi - great question - I changed to using Zest-it some years ago as I prefered the lemon zest smell. Even though the Bob Ross Odourless thinners is of course odourless when fresh it will start to smell a little in use. I always wash my brushes outdoors under a covered sideway never indoors. Top tip: I rarely use a just washed brush when I'm painting. I have several of each size and switch to clean dry brush to avoid an un-happy accident. Especially when painting with Liquid clear as the thinners causes a reaction that can't be stopped. Hope this helps 😃😎

    • @genericuser9760
      @genericuser9760 11 месяцев назад

      Thanks! I bought your recommended lepro led light and master cleaner! :) I think I'll have to buy the zest it next before I can start my painting journey. How do you clean your bob ross 1 and 2 inch brushes with the master cleaner - does that normally get used after your zest it - and then you let it dry in? I saw I need to use water with the master cleaner to create a lather, but elsewhere some say that the larger bob ross brushes are damaged by water - so now I'm not so sure! 😅

    • @PaulRansonArt
      @PaulRansonArt  11 месяцев назад

      Hi - yes its a little confusion when your just starting out. So here's my round up of things. Yes, my experience id never to wash your bigger (1",2" etc) in water. The bristles absorb water and swell making your brush look more like a flu brush and totally useless for oils. They can be bound with a shop towel and a rubber band and left to dry and reset but they never work as well. Smaller brushes like a liner brush can be washed with oild masters soap and water. They don't absorb water. Also some fans and filberts wash out well too. But I only do this routine when my brushes are really heavily stained and clogged with old paint. Most of the time just use odourless thinners (not white spirits) Hope that clears things up 😃😃😎😎@@genericuser9760

      Thank you! I've followed along with three of your videos now and it's been great 🎉 I've sent you some coffees as a thanks! Unfortunately your affiliation link for zest-it was broken, and there was no links for the individual BR paints or BR gesso - and I wanted to help with the commission there! My throat has hurt in the days after painting and brush cleaning, but it would be super insightful seeing your room's ventilation setup and the cleaning process used in a video to pick up any tricks there 😅 Everything's so tricky when starting out :)

    • @PaulRansonArt
      @PaulRansonArt  10 месяцев назад

      Hi Alan - wow thank you for the coffee cup donations. Its a great help with the purchase of more materials for the channel. I'm self funded so its really appreciated. Thank you also for the heads up on the broken links. Sometimes the stockist change their listings without notice. I'll start finding the new ones for the paints and thinners 😃😃@@genericuser9760 For ventilation I paint near an open window - always cracked a little. I also have a simple extractor fan to flick on if the smell gets too much. I think I need to do a bits and pieces video soon. Then I can do clips of my set up, storage, brush cleaning etc. Its on my list to do now!
