- Hi, this is a song that was introduced to us when we visited a church and an African children's choir was singing. They sang beautifully! They sang an arrangement to the refrain from the full version of Oh Happy Day.
Oh Happy Day was written in 1755 by Philip Doddridge. Here are the lyrics:

This has always been a favorite song of mine. I actually remember hearing it for the first time when I was just a child way back in the early 1980's, when I was living in Indonesia. A famous musician named Joan Baez graced my parent's music collection, where " Oh Happy Day" was heard often. Since receiving Jesus Christ as my Savior in 1991, this song has a whole lot of meaning to me than before. I'm overjoyed that Christ died for my sins, that He washed my sins away! Praise be to God!
