Sutton is 100% right about Idah too, his ceiling is probably Championship but he was one of the best off the bench strikers in the league and Norwich let him go just to bring in someone who clearly doesn't train well enough to be given any responsibility.

The last two promotions were unsuccessful partly due to the recruitment policy of signing cheap players from overseas leagues. They'll get you through a cup tie but the model isn't viable for an elite league. If Leeds do go up I hope Farke manages to keep them in the PL.

As a Norwich fan I’m glad we didn’t go up. I can’t imagine what it would’ve been like playing in the PL after fluking the play offs. I want us to be competitive when we do get promoted not cannon fodder.
Having had time to reflect after the four goal mauling at QPR and then missing out on second place, some Leeds fans were starting to think the same, including me. No point going up if you are going to get hammered once or twice a month by the money teams. Not that much fun battling for 17th place in early May either. Last season was awful and the one before was also painful. The fact is, promoted sides need to be built on a sound defence to have a chance of competing, as this season has shown. I hope I am wrong, but I think Ipswich will struggle. They have done really well this season, but they have conceded a lot of goals and relied on outscoring the opposition. Hard to play like that in the Premier League.
Glad that Wagner’s gone now. I know that we have had some good times but it’s been very shaky ever since his takeover from Smith. Sutton is absolutely spot on correct; we need a change of identity. We need to be playing possession based football again, cannot play counter attacking and soaking up pressure football because it would have cost us so much if we fluked the playoffs.

Leeds fan here. For as long as I can remember Norwich have always played the game the right way, good footballing team. Wagner is the complete opposite, he plays negative/defensively, he got Huddersfield promoted through the play off's without scoring a goal, playing for penalties. Wagner is not a good advert for the game. Against Leeds he set his team up to play for penalties. Football fans pay a lot of money to watch the game, I don't want to watch boring football, a team that plays for pens. Get him sacked. Norwich deserve better than him.

I agree with Chris Sutton that Norwich should not have won promotion. Watching Leeds last night made me yearn for the attractive, creative and entertaining football that Daniel Farke got Norwich to produce when he was our head coach in the Championship. David Wagner has had a difficult relationship with Norwich fans but he succeeded in getting the team to the play-offs and I wish him success for his next appointment. Let's hope a re-shape of NCFC produces great results next season,

We have a season ticked waiting list of 22,000 for the past 3 years, so demand is there for a 60,000 stadium. Our owners have said that they don't want to build a new stadium because the aim is to keep the special ER atmosphere. But as ER stands as it is now there aren't many better atmospheres in England when its rocking. Many ex footballers have said that ER is the best that they having experienced playing there for opposition teams.
Any team that finishes 23 & 23 points behind the top 2 is not going to survive the premier league.. Injuries happen to ALL teams not just Norwich but they constantly refer to it as though they are hard done by. Every team, including the top two, could give you a list of players they lost through injury but they used their squads.
that's the point though: we just don't have a squad to fall back on. our manager didnt trust the senior pros on the bench never mind giving the youth a chance. and it wasnt just injuries to anyone it was injuries to key players, key players that carried us through parts of this season.

It’s not nonsense. Norwich have been poor for large parts of the season. We were sitting seventeenth around Christmas and even got spanked senseless by Plymouth. It’s not just one bad performance, we’ve been miles off every time we’ve played Leeds and Leicester and only turned up for the Ipswich games because of the derby factor.

you seen the state of our squad? beyond the fully fit xi (which we rarely had all season) there's bugger all. his style of football didn't suit what we're trying to do and what the fans would get fully behind, but most importantly he just didn't trust the youth and give them a chance and that's our bread & butter; without selling on promising youth for big fees we can't exist

He’s a Norwich fan and worried what would happen to them in the Prem. Sheff Utd have scared a lot of supporters, they went up and couldn’t handle it, they were hammered constantly. The fear is unless a team comes up very strong and signs some good players they won’t be able to cope. The gap between the Prem and Championship seems to be growing. I think Chris was just concerned Norwich would be destroyed in the Prem, his words come from a good place.
