Skill 6. Put the damn coins in the customers hand first. Putting them on top of the paper money only increases the chance that the coins slide off onto the FLOOR. AND HAND THE RECEIPT SEPARATELY!!!!!
The problem is men do not have room in their billfolds for receipts so the receipt put in with the bills is annoying. It is hard to get the receipt out of the bills with one hand while you hold the billfold with the other. Separate bills is better and those bills can be put in ones billfold even with the coins in the bottom of the hand but the receipt is in the way. There are some men who don't care if their billfold is cluttered up with worn, wrinkled, unreadable receipts but not organized men. Have a good day!

@@atom9827 honestly it gets easier I feel like I’m not as awkward as a person like small talk comes so naturally. As for cashiers it a lot easier than it looks I will tell you that and it definitely gets easier over time . I do however slip up every now and then but it’s the end of the world

I think it’s also important to note that there r a lot of ppl who r nervous to go up to the cash register and sometimes the cash register machines r paaacked so it’s really important to pay attention to how the customer might be feeling and if they are nervous to not make to much conversation with them because their heads might be very scattered and they might not know what to say because they are nervous
I worked as a Cashier at american store. the first day I got so nervous that my body started trembling. I thought on giving up, but I stand that until I got fired. rude people everyday, but there´r nice people too. to conclude: it´s a very challanging job, but it helps U to grow.
I’m such an introvert but the managers pushed me to do cashier and said I did really good even though I was shy. Ig just speak loud and clearly bc a couple of people where like huh lol.

You don’t need to be good at mental math. The cash register does the math for you, you just got to know how to count money and give change back using the least amount of dollars and coins possible.

If you haven’t already found something you like more, imho all jobs at their core focus on customer service so you have transferable skills! Pharmacy cashier & medical/dental office receptionist come to mind. Anything you are personally interested in probably has an entry level role with your name on it that you can grow into at some point...even while working grocery store or fast food part time at the same time.
Finally, a video I can comment on. Ok, I swear, I'm just about to enter the cashier business and I kid you not, I literally only have one format to greet customers. I can only think of one to speak and that is "How have you been, sir/ma'am?" I'm introverted af and this is literally the only way I speak to strangers. It works every time, but I feel like certain people will judge me if they tend to buy their stuff from me after a few times

Will you be paying w cash or card to know beforehand and always wish them to have a nice day also small compliments like I like your shoes or shirt whatever will make it easier to have small talk and a friendly experience
