  • Culture shocked in China as an American. I was shocked to learn about Chinese culture. it is very different from the culture in the states and i share three things that were very interesting and shocking to someone that grew up in good old Michigan, USA.

    One more: women holding hands walking down the street, in China it's just a sign of friendship, in the west people probably think they must be gays in love with each other.

      I love Chinese culture and history but the visa fees for US citizens are CRIMINAL! $200 for 30 days. :(.

    Everyone in the country (國家/ nation family) is a member of the family - hence, the familial titles.

    lol... I dont think its a bf/gf thing to be holding the gf's purse. I used to hold my mom's purse for her too lol.

    How about secretly going to the counter earlier to settle the bill? Would that be rude like looking down that the other party can't afford ?
