    Here's how to clean your memory foam pillow properly.
    I go over how to spot clean the pillow first. For this, I mostly use soapy water and a sponge. I also talk a bit about how to get rid of odor without wetting the pillow entirely, since it does take a long time to dry.
    Lastly, I demonstrate how to clean the entire memory foam pillow properly, as well as how to dry it which is quite the challenge in itself.

    Handy tip, use avery clean rolling pin (when baking you use it for rolling out dough) in the bathtub to roll on the memory foam to get out even more water.

    Thanks!
    I ended up buying a few pillow protector cases that zip up and prevent dirt from getting into the actual pillow. I just change the pillow case every 2 days. Works great!

    I live in AZ, the last time I washed my memory foam pillows, they took 3 days to dry outside, and it was in the summer… in the dry, hot desert. If you do this, make sure you have extra pillows to use in the meantime and that the weather is expected to be a sunny few days outside! Also, some dry cleaners will clean them, if you don’t want you wash them yourself and don’t want to throw them out yet. The dry cleaners by my home charges $25 per pillow, so I would only do that for my husband’s pillows, that he refuses for me to hand wash and refuses to throw away, lol!

    • @Organizing-TV
      @Organizing-TV  Год назад +2

      That sounds about right haha! They take forever to dry, even if you do get out as much liquid as possible. Thanks for sharing the dry cleaner tip! But yikes, $25? That is costly for a pillow!

    I think I'll just buy more memory foam pillows. Seems like those are good recommendations but might compound the problem. No vacuum will remove all microscopic particles of dirt and other yuck, plus the baking soda or soap particles that seep down into the pillows. Thank you. You just convinced me what I should do.

    Also, use anti-bacterial soap, as a lot of the smell you get from fabrics that have been in contact with your body and bodily fluids, like sweat, is from the bacteria that grows and grows afterwards.
    The more bacteria you can kill off, the better!

      That's an interesting idea. I am usually happy with the result from regular soap. But it could be interesting to try anti-bacterial soap to one pillow to compare the results

    It taken me ages to dry! Literally did it on Saturday: stuck it next to a heater and dehumidifier all night and it’s still wet ! The outside it dry but I can feel it’s way heavier than it should be bc it’s retained water in the middle. Any advice ?

    Hi there! How would you suggest I clean memory foam pillows that may have clothes moth eggs in them? I got a free incline back support that’s worth $50, but when I went to pick it up it had clothes moth larvae on it! I threw the cover in the wash, which I’ll need to clean on high heat to kill any eggs or remaining larvae (I brushed off what I saw, I didn’t see any eggs but I’m not taking any chances) but it says online I can’t put the memory foam pillow in the washing machine.
    How do I ensure the memory foam is sanitized/sterilized if I can’t wash it in hot scalding water?

    Forget wasting energy pushing the pillow down in the bath with your hands, do what the French and Italians etc do with their grapes, when making wine and get in there (in the bath) and start treading on it instead. 🍇👣
