Seriously, remember when we were so desperate for information we made up an entire game with in depth lore and characters? We'd bet that a gameplay reveal would happen at every single gaming event? We went insane and then all started to turn hollow at the lack of information, splintering the fan base into multiple subsections? And then the game comes out and blows every expectation out of the water, becomes massively successful selling millions upon millions of copies, AND wins GOTY. Probably one of the biggest success stories in gaming history.

You get to see Marika break the ring while Radagon desperately tries to repair it. Malenia’s popping her arm into place, then with Finlay attacking Radahn. Then Radhan on his knees succumbing to Malenia’s rot following her bloom. It’s so cool to see little glimpses of these moments. Tbh I hope George RR Martin releases his lore book that he gave to FromSoftware.
Watching this trailer while knowing who all these characters are and what they're doing changes everything. There was so much being shown to us, but we couldn't possibly know.

1:42 I find this scene great after finishing the game, the contrast between Marika appreciating how the ring is destroyed and Radagon regretting the decision.
I think what should also be appreaciated is the fissures that appear over their bodies. I once thought them to be tattoos until now when I can clearly see its their body that's breaking from the strain needed to break the Elden Ring.
Re-watching this now after finishing the game and I just realized that the Radagon/Marika twist is right there. This is probably the best game that I have ever played.

Sekiro came out last year. It's literally been A year since their last game. Calm down. It'll probably take three years like most of their stuff does. This trailer actually shows us so much. The constant switching between Marika shattering the elden ring and Radagon trying to repair it. You can also see their body crack with each strike, indicating how both of them are actually the same person and how the elden ring is literally a part of them. Radahn fighting Malena and her cleanrot knights and Godrick grafting limbs to his body.

I'm re-re-re-rewatching, I didn't notice that every time Radagon strikes, his body disintegrates further. I always thought it was the final hit that caused it. The more he 'tries', the more he damages the ring and thus himself. Also, the second Marika reappears, all the ring's fragments that were suspended in the air start to fall as the light dims. Also, we see Radagon's left arm start to crumble away, explaining his glowing arm. I haven't finished SOTE but I guess we'll see even more after that :D

Is that really Finlay? The summon we get in-game has the Halo Scythe while this one has an early version of the Cleanrot Spear that seems to lack the buckler attached to the in-game model.
Are u sure? The spirit ashes say she saved Malenias life by carrying her back to the Haligtree, not by charging Radahn. They also wield different weapons.

Finlay possible grabbed a spear and thrust it at Radahn as Radahn does have many weapons all inside of him on his back and other places.
@@marcus22greene I think the assumption is that after Malenia activated her scarlet bloom, it incapacitated both her and Radahn, which is why the lore tells us there was no victor. So Finlay couldn't have fought off Radahn to save Malenia after this, and I'm pretty sure an incredible feat like that would have been mentioned in her spirit description. Finlay is still the MVP for carrying her and protecting her all the way back tho

@@kingofstrangeness7014 the biggest criticism of the demons souls remake is that it damaged a ton of the atmosphere of the original. The game looks incredible, sure, but all the colors and overall brightness of the game took a lot out of the eeriness of the original. Take boletaria palace for example: the remake is all bright and colorful compared to the washed out original which gives it a certain aura of dread that something is terribly wrong with the whole place, while the remake just feels like an average castle on an average day.

Nah, DS1, DS3 and Blood Borne are definitely better. This game is basically just dark souls 3 but with an Ubisoft style open world sadly… Like it’s not a bad game at all, its just not that revolutionary in its open world design. Couldn’t finish it, got bored of finding a dungeon, it being the same with same enemies and same bosses copy pasted lol. Would rather they go back to the old school way they made it. But people have spoken and they want it to be easier and more accessible. This might possibly be the death of the original Souls formula for sure Hopefully we get more games like Sekiro and Armored Core 6. Or the next open world they make is actually interesting without copy pasting bosses. Would be better if the world was 1/4 of the size and had the interconnectedness of DS1 (thats still the best world design I have played)

Hidetaka Miyazaki reminds me of Satoru Iwata in some ways, a very passionate, dedicated developer and a restless working man, I hope to be astonished for almost another decade by his work! It’s really interesting how you can see what seems to be Marika in many shots, but with more context actually looks much more like Radagon in other shots
You can clearly see, who's who by their hairstyles and body shapes alone, i dont know if you've seen a man and woman's body side by side but they look quite different.
Looking back on this game's trailer is like looking back how beautiful you were when you were younger but remembering you are much more beautiful today
I kinda did tho. It was pretty obvious that both the woman and the man (marika and radagon) were extremely similar in appearance so it was pretty easy to assume they were two halves of the same person.

I'm re-re-re-rewatching, I didn't notice that every time Radagon strikes, his body disintegrates further. I always thought it was the final hit that caused it. The more he 'tries', the more he damages the ring and thus himself. Also, the second Marika reappears, all the ring's fragments that were suspended in the air start to fall as the light dims. Also, we see Radagon's left arm start to crumble away, explaining his glowing arm. I haven't finished SOTE but I guess we'll see even more after that :D

Edit: Most likely it's not Finlay (probably another Cleanrot Knight Hero), but still cool to understand all the lore in these trailers after all that time. (Sorry if i mislead someone)
Is that really Finlay? The summon we get in-game has the Halo Scythe while this one has an early version of the Cleanrot Spear that seems to lack the buckler attached to the in-game model.

Are u sure? The spirit ashes say she saved Malenias life by carrying her back to the Haligtree, not by charging Radahn. They also wield different weapons.
@@AlejandroGonzalez-ft4si she saved her mistress, I mean after she poisoned Radahn do you honestly believed he wouldn't try to kill her? Plus Cleanrot Knight uses sword, spear and halo scythe. Finlay possible grabbed a spear and thrust it at Radahn as Radahn does have many weapons all inside of him on his back and other places.
@@marcus22greene I think the assumption is that after Malenia activated her scarlet bloom, it incapacitated both her and Radahn, which is why the lore tells us there was no victor. So Finlay couldn't have fought off Radahn to save Malenia after this, and I'm pretty sure an incredible feat like that would have been mentioned in her spirit description. Finlay is still the MVP for carrying her and protecting her all the way back tho

@@kingofstrangeness7014 the biggest criticism of the demons souls remake is that it damaged a ton of the atmosphere of the original. The game looks incredible, sure, but all the colors and overall brightness of the game took a lot out of the eeriness of the original. Take boletaria palace for example: the remake is all bright and colorful compared to the washed out original which gives it a certain aura of dread that something is terribly wrong with the whole place, while the remake just feels like an average castle on an average day.

Nah, DS1, DS3 and Blood Borne are definitely better. This game is basically just dark souls 3 but with an Ubisoft style open world sadly… Like it’s not a bad game at all, its just not that revolutionary in its open world design. Couldn’t finish it, got bored of finding a dungeon, it being the same with same enemies and same bosses copy pasted lol.
Would rather they go back to the old school way they made it. But people have spoken and they want it to be easier and more accessible. This might possibly be the death of the original Souls formula for sure
Hopefully we get more games like Sekiro and Armored Core 6. Or the next open world they make is actually interesting without copy pasting bosses.
Would be better if the world was 1/4 of the size and had the interconnectedness of DS1 (thats still the best world design I have played)

I never want to hear anyone say Radahn wasn't going to win this fight against Malenia ever again. Malenia had massive help.

With both demi-gods almost done for, Finlay retreats, dragging Malenia away from the battle and leaving Radahn, howling at the sky.
