It's incredible how many products Caddx has launched for the Avatar system in the last 18 months. Now that they've covered seemingly every sector, I hope they focus on quality rather than quantity from now on.
Yet none of them was a final product😅
This should have been called the pro cam. And the pro cam should have had a name like moonlight since its better with low light

With the moonlight kit is it possible to replace the vtx board with the one from the GT 1 watt vtx
After multiple reassembly attempts, i can't get the sd card to work anymore ... i even bought a dead unit to try with other parts and i still cant get it to work ... at least i got two working/non recording vtx now :/
Hi Mads Tech unfortunatley the moonlight is way way worse than their V2 vtx for GPS. they really mess up and jam GPS and i'm not the only one who got the problem.

he had to move the gps to the front to prevent this problem.
Im sorry Walksnail, but i feel your stuff is rushed to market with too many bugs. Ill wait on this one.

Just jumped into the Walksnail ecosystem, with the Goggles X and a pair of Moonlight Kits. I was not impressed how fast the VTx's get while I wait for GPS lock, forcing me to use the power bank method of getting lock before I plug in my LiPo. On 4S! I'm running the most current firmware on both sides, and have an open Mario 5 frame that my first Moonlight was installed in, and on top of a AtomRC Penguin canopy for the second. Out of fear for the VTx's, I unplug when they reach 97C. I wonder if there will be a firmware miracle that will dampen the thermals of these little guys before they end up melting a hole to the Earth's core? The Goggles X I have has the fatty heatsink, so I'm not particularly concerned with them, but alas I do live in Florida so...
I got it yesterday and it overheats on 25mW. Also, I get OSD but no video. Sometimes the video will show up for some time and then disappear. Since my Caddx Orca I've been getting anything BUT quality with Caddx. I wish I went with another brand.
Can't make SD card work again after disassembly :( Is there any video about connecting that damn cable again?
17:25 Good reminder about voltage spikes. I lost one drone with runcam split without capacitor and the image froze mid sky. The VTX continued transmitting a still image for many minutes until I shutdown the whole thing mid air.
Is it possible to repair It after main voltage regulator got fried ?? . Does anyone has some experience with Caddax Service ??

on the antennas .Do you know what's in the bulb at the end is it a straight wire or a single direction antenna?
I thought I noticed a a difference in thermal compound color between my Goggles X original and the replacement heatsink compound they sent with the new heatsink - but I attributed it to it being new - wonder if it's actually different

Thanks for the info Ian. I have a hypothetical situation..... Say down the road the DVR board dies on me, now theoretically I could separate the internal mipi connection, connect the camera directly to the v2 board and flash it with v2 vtx firmware to access and use the board and it's onboard memory???? Are you interested in testing this out for the community? Or should I wait til I break one of my moonlights and then let you know?
Its just a standard PRO 2 VTX so reflash with SKY img. Did this with a first batch Moonlight with a failed DVR (shorted MIPI cable) removed the DVR PCB & connected Camera directly. Bonus, extra big case seems to keep the VTX cooler🤣
What does it exactly mean: "Not running it directly of a battery?"
Basically putting it on a bec on a flight controller. So directly from battery is Vbat with no filtering or protection. A BEC will not only reduce the voltage but it also offers additional protection for the VTX.

That is how I'm using it, and it works well for me so far.
Very curious to see how the goggles 1.1 do considering I have a set on the way from caddx to replace my original set.
It is very encouraging the amount of new products and variety of avatar hd "air unit" options they have, it's the reason I went with this system and I really like the 1080p dvr footage from the Avatar HD Pro camera. It'd be awesome if Caddx added a flat or log color mode to the moonlight. They already have color profiles on the other cam/vtx setups.
The new firmware allows the moonlight DVR board to upgrade its firmware separately,
No more upgrade cable needed
Weird question I wired mine to the vcc pad and no dice. Never had this happen before any thoughts?

Did the blue vrx led light turn on at the end of update ? Or just blinking red light till the end.

I got my Walksnail 4K vtx in. I bind it to my goggles x and I got video and shows I got to update, the goggle update went good but the vtx didn’t update the red led was solid.
Now it still bind to the goggles but no video and the led is blinking green. Any one has an idea what is wrong?
Similar issue here , I posted on official walksnail group and wait them to reply.
Mine got slow green blinking (indicated as rec board not recognized in the manual).
Now it cannot press button to go bind mode.
Is the cable long enough for a 7”& 8” build ?? With out getting a longer cable

What could be put there instead of thermal compound..Would silicone paste work as well?
The intention is to transfer heat. Silicone paste is an insulator. So no.
Man, these companies need to read some books on thermal design. Or hire some some people to fix the thermal issues.
Its a super tiny compact package intended to be in a flying object in close proximity to propellers spinning very fast moving through the air. It doesn't have any over heating issues in it's intended application.
When gopro and DJI figure out overheating I'll ask caddx to do the same.
