Trent, you're a great teacher! What about a collection of art with a unifying theme but they don't have itemized 'traits'? Any resources or videos on that? THX!

3:50 you didn't really just compare a PDF of a smiling monkey(that you don't even own the rights) to a piece of art did you? The problem is unlike copying a handmade painting you're just copying code so it is an exact perfect copy unlike a recreation of an art piece. Best of all I can't change every picture to a rug in the Louvre leaving everyone on my project broke holding nothing of value.
NFT's are definitely in a bubble based on how new the tech is but that doesn't mean its worthless or even a bad investment just riskier.
NFT's are not any more trustworthy than traditional crypto its just a new form with a pretty coat of paint on it.
    NFT's are okay.
TL;DR: No reason too excited now.

      Thanks for the reply!
As to your first argument (This isn't art): That's the same thing people have said about Mondrian, Monet, Warhol ... every artist taking on a new style gets that criticism. But art is an expression by the artist. You may not like the art presented, and that's ok. But that doesn't make it not art, and that doesn't invalidate the work of the artist.
Regarding the second argument (it's copying code so therefore not the same thing as forging art) It's actually a very similar problem. All you're talking about is a difference in effort. I can copy / paste a NFT image, sure. The forger of the Mona Lisa had to spend hours recreating it. Picking the right paint, the proper brushstrokes, etc. But at the end of the day there is ONE real NFT. There is ONE real Mona Lisa. I can't show up at the Bored Ape Yacht Club wall with a fake ape and hope to get in. Legitimacy is provided by the blockchain.
Finally, the third argument (That they can be mass-rugged after mint). This isn't 100% accurate. The smart contract code could allow for that, true. But the fact is that the vast majority don't do that, and won't do that. The most you'll get is a rug in the sense that the seller will make a lot of promises that are never fulfilled post-sale. Honestly, this is a question of research and trust, because there are similar problems in any investment throughout the world.
