African American culture itself is wide and diverse from the regions we have so many cultures just like the African Nations within themselves vary as he described with tribal identities
African American have culture that is rich
We have car culture food culture fashion culture our music
I hate when people say that black American steal other people culture in music
We created rock country blues and rap we been rapping since the early 1900
We create movement that is global and learn around the world
Only black American that don't know they history is lost and say we don't have culture
Thank for addressing the stereotypes. I come from a Afro-Caribbean background. This was very informative.
Just to remind you that africa has many cultures, I mean alot!
There is no such thing as a caribbean culture, there are caribbean cultures.

Great video and great topic. There is alot which can be covered in this video. I have been hearing the discussions about African American African and Caribbean and South Americans. This for over 55 years. Yes they had African booty scratcher back then and beyond. I did the African Ancestry DNA test paternal my score was 100% similar match to the AKYEM people of Ghana 🇬🇭 in the Eastern region. Went to Ghana in 2019 year of return. Lady on the plane from New York confronted me in the Airport after we landed and told me my people are from the eastern side of Ghana she knows them and she pointed in the direction. She was first trying to talk to me in Twi. Please talk to the DNA folks at African Ancestry first if you have doubts. Also your friend from Ghana is right Ghanaian are very sweet and welcoming people 😊 much love. As African Americans we have family from all over but you got to look. Start will immediately will closets family members
And last . BLACK PEOPLE in the 🇺🇸 have been wear Dishikis before I was born and that was 62 years ago. So go look at the styles from the 60s , 70's are culture is to big when you start looking for it. So thank peace and one love 💘 and friends ❤ 💕
no Haiti actually did those things in the passed
Also I’ve seen West Africans curious or confused why Black Americans still feel connected to the continent or show more interest than Caribbeans. To that I say do we ask why Caribbeans make dishes very similar to African dishes or why the music is similar? No. That’s how the culture survived and we just accept it. So don’t ask why Black Americans spirits gravitate towards Africa. It’s not about current day Africans or wanting to sit at your table. It’s just how the culture survived in us. Our ancestors live in us too and for many of us our souls are tied to that beautiful continent.
Where is Afro-Latino?
I'm going to do a part 2 of this topic in my upcoming season two... Stay tuned and thanks for the recommendation!
We are all africans
First, let me say that this was a very good and constructive discussion. From my vantage point, Black people in the United States should drop the term 'Black American' and pick an African (Bantu) name for the (collective) group, e.g., Maboma ('many villages' < Kiswahili). If we look at the basic source regions in which the Africans who were forcibly transported as part of TAST (Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade) to the Western Hemisphere (inclusive of what eventually became the United States), they are: Senegambia-DRC-Angola tri-node territory+Mozambique vicinity+Madagascar. This collective space is something I coined as Kijiji Kikubwa ('big village' in KiSwahili). This geography influenced my thinking when I used the word 'maboma' as an example of a possible group name: a mosaic of Africans who originate from a large swath of territory such that they embody rich innovation skills due to diversity of talent and ancestral background.
Getting back to the major focus, the "Black American" term doesn't seem to convey that the associated person is of African origin. In fact, the term "Black American" sounds like someone who is classified as an appendage culturally , ethnically and philosophically to the American, the name that the white colonizers, who founded the eventual United States, gave themselves. Second, develop an Africa linkage/engagement plan. The Caribbean nation nations are already connected via an economic bloc like Caricom and by being sovereign can establish nation-to-nation relationships with Africa. Therefore, the Blacks in the Caribbean will be okay in the long-run. However, what do we think should be the empowerment solution for Africans in the United States: a people at ~50 million with no sovereignty and no place to go ' a group stuck within a white geospace. Just thinking outside the box.
We do not descend from Swahili speakers.
Black Americans go by Soula/African American/Black American/ADOS-American Descendants of Slavery.
how can you compare.. 1 small ethnic group African Americans vs a regions and continents.. its not a fair analysis.. Do you knohow big and diverse Africa is..
They literally just did. Why you sound mad? Nobody said shit negative. Like are you gonna cry because they compared. Boo hoo
I couldn’t finish this video please get the the real root of why no one get along with most African Americans. Get a person that was born in the Caribbean & moved here same for African!!!
Maybe because Africa sold them
@corieydadon You could be the ancestor of a former slave trading tribe who ended up on a slave ship themselves. Have you ever thought of that?
The religion you were talking about but couldn't name is called Santeria 😊
How are we the same?
Tf are you talking about?
@Protect Your Peace
We not the same. Just like the Philippino is different from the Korean. We are the only people who fall for that mama africa nonsense. We have always been in America
@@mikejones-wn1swAt what point was your culture, traditions and practices totally erased and when did you all decide to mimic the culture of African Americans?
Nigerian may have a house an a car. Do he own it
All the Africans end of the day
