*my nemesis puzzle is the 1x1. I have tried every algorithm, I’ve watched tutorials. It’s been 8 years. Definitely a hard puzzle. Give it a shot! Cheers*
James Anderson I came up with a method. If your 1x1 is left-weighted with your color, do U L U' L' Right-weighted, do U R U' R' If it's equal, do U2 D2 U2 D2 For the last layer, turn upside down and repeat.
Congrats! I have one of these too, and consider it the hardest puzzle I own. Interestingly, I didn't have to think of new algorithms either. I solved it layer-by-layer, but learned how to do every algorithm left, right, forwards, and backwards. That increases the flexibility by 4x, helping me circumvent situations with bandages while still attacking whatever piece I want to have move. Each solve still takes hours though, lol
Congrats Kenneth! I've always been too afraid to scramble my latch cube, and this video did NOTHING to alleviate my fears of mine getting scrambled (whether accidentally or intentionally). 😂 😜 🤠
It would be super cool for you to do a livestream for your next nemesis! I get that it would be long, but I think all of us would enjoy watching your solving process in real time. Keep up the good work!
I love your weekly video's. This really looks like a hard solve, great job! My nemesis is the 2x4x6, i am still struggling with it. Just barely managed to keep myself from watching a solve video. Your determination gives me the spirit to keep trying. Thanks for sharing.
Yeeeee! I was so excited to see this video! My phone was out of charge and I literally sat next to it for 30 minutes waiting for it to turn on. I love your vids Red KB! Keep up the good work!!
I bought a ton of cubes and other puzzles of the sort because of you. I have been at them constantly. I am very glad that I found your channel somehow.
The only difference between a regular cube is replacing a clockwise turn with three counter clockwise turns. All algorithms utilized in regular 3x3 methodology should technically work.
That's funny, I've solved it a couple of times in the past, but picked it up last week to figure it out completely and find a solution that makes it easier. My way: 1. edges first, intuitive until maybe the last two have to be reoriented with frf'r' series. 2. Position corners. Once the edges are in position the same color arrows can be grouped by turning the middle layers. Then the corners can be switched more easily. 3. Then the corners are oriented correctly, using the same edge grouping using middle layers. Just started writing this before watching the video, let's see how you did it :)
My nemesis puzzles are definitely my geraniums. I’ve solved the geranium mini but everything beyond that is just so tough. I have a plan for the pocket but I’m having difficulty executing it and beyond that I have no idea. I just ordered an Eliac too which is gonna be nightmarish. Apart from planar puzzles, my bermuda jupiter cube got me for the longest time, but I figured a solution out for it after entirely too long.
I have solved the Latch Cube. It is really hard. My basic strategy was to group all 4 black arrows on the top and bottom. Then I position the white arrows into place. Then I try to make the black arrows actually go where they are supposed to be. Only once I have all the arrows where an arrow of that color should be (regardless of the sticker color) do I try to get the edges into the right place. Once I have the edges, then I work on the corners. If that sounds like I left some steps out, well, that's why I can't solve it reliably. It is very hard for me to do. I've only gotten it once or twice. I have an app with this puzzle on it, btw. I don't have the physical puzzle.
I just got this puzzle, and I solved it in a half hour after the first scramble of it. I was quite disappointed, but the new Maltese Gears Cube is truly ridiculous!
So far I have solved every puzzle I have attempted. I'm not going to promise I didn't look it up for most of them, but I also don't have a big collection and I have never even seen most of the puzzles you have in person. The only puzzle I know of that I have solved without looking it up is a Mefferts gear cube, and I may or may not have brute forced it just a little bit on half of my solves. There are a few others, but I don't know the name, and they aren't even slightly difficult.
has anybody ever told you that you look like jesse plemons in black mirror? dunno, just thought about it. also you have no IDEA how long have i been waiting for this one
Hello RedKB, I am a fairly new cuber and I am trying to get better. All I know is beginners method from your tutorial. I can now solve a 3x3 in 47 seconds, but I want to learn to speed cube. I can't find any good tutorials, and I know that you make very good tutorials, so could you please make a CFOP tutorial. I'm sure it would be helpful to many people like myself. Thank you if you read this.
very nice solve, right now my nemesis cube is the curvy copter plus. It is very challenging for me, and there aren't any great tutorials for help either lol.
Can you do a Y perm on this? Because it might not be that difficult if you use what I think is called the "Old Pochmann Method", If I am wrong correct me on what it's called and/or how to spell it. It's basically solve edges, setup move, Y perm, undo setup move, repeat.
technically, if you look at the cube from a mathematical point of view, it is impossible to tell if it is even solvable. with the normal rubiks cube, it is clear that if you can get the cube from permutation a to permutation b, you can get it from b to a because every move is reversible, but not for the latch cube.
Wow. Great job. Out of curiosity I looked for speed cubers doing latch cubes. They're a bit faster than you. Obviously. They're probably faster than me doing a standard rubix cube. I memorized a basic solution for it.
My Nemeses are the Gear Cube Extreme/Ultimate (for which I'm referring to your old tutorial video), and also the 4x4x2 and 5x5x3 cuboids (for which SuperAntinoVivaldi has some tips), but i wish you could make a tutorial for the shape-shifting cuboids.
Congrats! Does this mean that your current PB for the Latch Cube is 7 years?
no his pb is however old he is or however old the puzzle is just like it was 11 years before I solved a 3x3 so my first solve took 11 years
yes, yes it dose
paperandpasteboard 1 shouldn’t it start once you first get your cube
Yeah. Their logic doesnt work properly :/
Took me like 7 years
*my nemesis puzzle is the 1x1. I have tried every algorithm, I’ve watched tutorials. It’s been 8 years. Definitely a hard puzzle. Give it a shot! Cheers*

I came up with a method.

Right-weighted, do U R U' R'
If it's equal, do U2 D2 U2 D2

Just pick up the cube the place it back to the ground EASY
Edit: got myself r/woooshed goddammit old me
r/woooosh
Oxo Playz r/wooooosh
The real hard thing is scrambling it
The "Day 1, Hour 0" shirt. Very nice. :)
I don't get it

@@enavoid yeah I realised that a little bit afterwards

YES! A THOUSAND TIMES YES! Oh sweet, I made it in a RedKB video. Cheers Kenneth.
King Lex You probably commented the most about the latch cube!
RedKB I knew you could solve it. Congratulations on finally beating it.
RedKB hey I feel like you just went trough the comments and liked every single one because the all have the heart thing by them lol.
😴😴😴😴😡😧😧😧😧😧😧😧😧😧😧😧😧😧😧😧😴😴😴😴😴😡
RedKB hi my name is mike or cade nice to meet you my favorite cube is the shape shifting fisher cube by tony fisher and all the shape shifting cubes

Yay! More Nemesis! Hopefully you make a lot more of these, I really like them.

JUST IMAGINE THE LATCH CUBE WITH THE CHANGING COLOURS STICKERS
That would IMPOSSIBLE
Malcolm Castelino higher order latch cube
And blindfolded
Blindfolded and with one hand and need to solve it under an hour
As well as shape shifting
Lol finally another episode. I thought this was an old one I still hadn’t watched.
YO REDKB FINALLY U SOLVED THE LATCH CUBE YOU ARE THE BEST PERSON EVER
Whoever came up with the concept of this cube is brilliant.
And also stumped most expert cubers....
Happy New Year!
Finally! Nemesis again! Awesome video as always!
So well done! ! Such a challenging puzzle. Mine remains on shelf somewhere getting dusty ;D Love this Series!
Kitslams Art your right
New Nemesis finally! I love this series!
My favourite event is MultiBlind Petaminx Latch Cube with One Foot... underwater.
Also, don't heart so many comments!
+Quality Content You realize you're going to get hearted now, right?
Don't tell me what to do! 😉
+RedKB thanks!
I just got this cube for Christmas. I am to scared to scramble it. My 2x3x4 ghost cube looks easier then this xD and that was a hard puzzle to solve
Love the Mike Boyd shirt :) Great video as always!

I think you should make a ' Room Tour '.
I'm sure that all of your viewers/subscibers will absolutely like it.
I thought I'd be able to solve it when I got it.
I didn't know I could be so wrong.
Lmao hotel mario
I love cubing because of your commentary and I have never solved a cube myself
paulo kabaze Thanks for watching!
You should start

I love the square-1. Parity though, I deal with that in a bad way.

I am more impressed about the fact that this thing is even existing than somebody solving it.
Cool shirt! I have been watching Mike for a couple of years.

RedKB, true, but some non cubes say they took it apart.

Not sure if you have them but my nemeses are the Master Skewb and the Square One.

Would it be possible to mess this puzzle up so that every side is locked and nothing can be done other than take it apart?

I have a 17x17x17 shengshou that came apart and I need help finding someone to put it back together. Is this something you do?
Congrats! If you didn't solve it it could be a new year's resolution
Congratulations on solving it
Good work
Love the Mike Boyd TShirt!
That looks like a beast of a puzzle.
What you should do for the next nemesis episode? How about not almost 6 months frim now, like the last episode.
In love with your day one hour zero shirt
That’s a sweet Mike Boyd shirt dude!
Yes it's back!
The key hole method works really well for me, when it comes to my latch cube.
