douglass1221 - It’s been over 2 years. Will apologized at least 3 times. He even reached out to Chris to personally apologize but Chris wasn’t ready to talk. Will has gone through a lot of therapy and given a lot to charity. At the end of the day no one is perfect. When you’ve made mistakes or bad choices did people refuse to forgive you? Or are you just so perfect that you’ve never had to ask for forgiveness?
Holding onto grudges is very immature and holding hate in your heart is equally unhealthy.

A life of putting out 85% positivity and 1 slap doesn’t = total cancellation. It = the forever mark of “the slap”, infinite taunting, not knowing if your fans will take u back, fighting the urge to go hide, & mustering the courage to risk failure in front of billions of ppl. “The ppl” have made their judgement, but he’ll live with a “light” sentence for the rest of his life, and I think that’s fair. He’s no P. Diddy by a long shot.

I taught remotely for two years for Stride, TVAH. I went back into the classroom as I prepare to launch the next level of my life and career. My former colleague reported that, Stride was asking them to work through the summer. Stride wants them to pre-record lessons reflecting scope and sequence aligned with software. Stride is a corporate entity. I guarantee you they will then keep and redistribute that data as "courses". They are preparing to make a physical educator obsolete. The current district I am in announced that any positions that were not filled would simply be cut! Umm, what? Sounds like some classes will be over capacity. How will they balance that? Yes, the behavior is ABHORRENT often. Very few consequences for destructive behavior. Excellent comment.

Exactly…physical violence (unfortunately) sometimes leads to death, and we have so-called evolved minds and peoples with a platform making light of violence that thankfully didn’t turn fatal or remove anyone’s freedom from life and liberty (or to capture people’s minds for two hours in a theater being entertained). Lesson here to take everything and everyone with a grain of sand. I do give thanks for those in certain communities to be shields and advocates for one another, because it is very complex and nuanced to not allow someone 50+ years old to be given absolution for being recorded saying they grab women by the privates (because you are old enough to know better), but we have adults making exceptions for someone in that same age range that did something they are too damned old to receive absolution from. What care do I have of how good a young man he was at 20, if at 50 you proved unstable enough and unable to suppress your rage and control your passions to not commit an act that could’ve ended up much more catastrophic without the protection of celebrity and wealth??? Chris Rock can be / is a dumb arse, of course…but put your hands on the right one and it’s going to be a different discussion without the smiles and the nicely crafted podcasts and videos in the comforts of home. Get serious and stop doing what THEY do. We can all get lost in moments of passion, but to have this convo that way some of these comments are playing out IN COLD BLOOD and allegedly unimpaired minds, is concerning at best.

Keep your hands to yourself is something all of us should have learned in kindergarten. We"re talking about how societal standards have slipped and yet Will Smith couldn't control himself enough to adhere to a very minimal standard of behavioral expectations. He's wealthy and will be just fine if he never makes another movie in his life. Likewise, I will be just fine never seeing another Will Smith movie.

For those who don't know, Chris is a comedian. Comedians are literally paid to talk about all people, wives, husbands, sisters, brothers, etc. Will was completely out of order.

@@PENPAL555 Probably an unpopular opinion, but believe it or not I am not a fan of Chris Rock, nor am I a fan of the roasting that passes for comedy. Just not funny to me. My take is that Will should have checked Chris before the show, after the show, or in a one on one meeting. Instead, he lost his temper and behaved like a 50 year old toddler. Nothing cute about grown man throwing a tantrum.

If you listened to Chris Rock's story of abuse in childhood, you will know that Chris could have given Wil crap you would not believe then would you have called Chris out? Where does this crap end? In the grave or jail? Come on have some self respect. We cannot race with people who are quick to get to the bottom

The bar has been lowered due to the mediocrity of those who have appropriated and stolen everything they know then set themselves up as the supreme beings. It takes more than just snatching another's ishnit to be great. We Melanated Aboriginal and/or African descended peoples have had to work 10 times harder for everything we have. That makes us mentally and Spiritually mature and strong.

And sometimes you may not have the energy to think about what you want because of your life being so much different from what you think it should look like. Like we all could have ever imagined Will slapping anyone on the biggest night of his life. He will never live that down it will unfortunately be part of his life but he still persevering.
