I carry Vino on my Honda. My ole 1100 Spirit burns anything. I did install some K&N 20W/50 last oil change. I like it in this bike. I think the bike likes it too in our hot / humid SE Looziana, Bug Slappin', weather.
Awesome, thanks! Yeah, can't do better than these two bikes right now. The little Versys does everything and my wife likes riding on the back of the Vaquero, and most bikes she won't go near.

Great looking bike! I have an 09 voyager - basically the same bike but has the rear box. I’m thinking about ivanizing too. Is it a OMG difference or a hmmm difference?
On my 2016 Vaquero the difference was dramatic. The engine is MUCH smoother and the temperature gauge consistently runs 2 bars cooler. I wouldn't buy a Vaquero without investing the $400 for the Ivan's. And to your point, I think the Voyager is essentially the same bike. Good luck.
Nice video, however, not talking to much about the new bike. How do you compare the Vaquero with the Valkyrie?. It is funny but I happen to have a Valkyrie, had a 2002 FJR 1300 and I was thinking that I might change the Valkyrie for the Vaquero but only because of the weather protection and the hard bags. I think that the Valkyrie is better engineered than the Vaquero. Would like to hear your opinion though. Cheers from Qatar.
Main difference between the Valkyrie and Vaquero is the Vaquero is a much more comfortable bike to spend time on. I did get the Ivans ECU tune, which made a vast improvement to the Vaquero. And then I put on a driver's backrest and some Kuryakin highway pegs. They look great and work wonderfully. The Valk is faster but the Vaquero is a much more comfortable long-distance machine.
The stock seat is no good for a passenger. Too small and slopes away--my wife hated it. Constantly felt like she was falling off the bike. I bought a Mustang saddle with a backrest that can go in the driver's seat or the slot for the passenger seat. That works great. She loves it. The bike is plenty big and strong enough for two-up riding. Just needed a better passenger seat.
There was a wobble. My BMW R18 Classic does the same thing. It might be related to tire wear. Leaving one hand on the handlebars solves the problem but there are times when I want to remove both hands briefly to adjust or fix something on the run, and then it’s sketchy.
I do not have it. So maybe you’re getting mine? I traded it in on a Suzuki VStrom 650, then traded that in on a Harley Pan America. A used Vaquero is a nice way to get a good bagger for a third of the price of a Harley or Indian. Thanks!
@@ghostmost2614 maybe? The white one only came up that one year. If it has a single small black mark on the right (I think) saddle bag, it’s probably mine!
They are very different. The Vaquero is more comfortable mostly because of its suspension, or rather the poor suspension on the CTX. The CTX motor is definitely far sweeter, but neither produce arm stretching power. My Vaquero absolutely needed the Ivan’s tune, which was about $400 very well spent dollars. If I had to choose between a free example of either I would definitely pick the Vaquero. Comfort is king, the engine with the tune is fine, the weather protection is very good and I like the looks too, especially from the back.
I’d have enjoyed your video alot more without the terrible music. I had my FJR since 2008 and looking at getting a Vaquero. I’ve had a few Harleys and loved them however not wanting to pay the ridiculous entry fee these days to buy the name

Great video 👍 Good thing a cop wasn't behind you running every stop sign... 🙈😂
I didn’t run them, I did a moving stop. 🤔
keep both bro, when you wrenching one you still have one to ride. Ivans flash is amazing, I have a 2011 Vulcan Vaquero custom!

How’s the Vaquero with a passenger? Prefer the looks of it over the voyager.

Any issue with front tire wobble?

Changing my neck bearing and hoping it fixes it
@@johnderosambeau4820 is your front tire worn? That could be the problem.
Do you still have that bike? I'm about to by a 2016 looks just like yours. Lol

@@ghostmost2614 yes, I had Ivan’s Performance flash the ECU. Made it run much smoother and cooler.
How is this bike with only 80 horsepower and 900 pounds? Seems like it would need at least 130hp to even be road worthy.
It goes nicely. Plenty of low down grunt. Also, The Voyager is in the 900 pound range. The Vaquero is significantly lighter, though still a big bike.
You got the wrong bike.
Been looking at a 2011 vaquero- any thing to lookout for? Still like yours?

Did you raise your bars?
I think I adjusted the angle but I don’t think I added bar risers. Pretty comfortable as it comes.
