Comments as I watch: INTENTION SETTING DECKS: Seeing TWU makes me so happy. In terms of The Wildwood - I clearly need to know more as it really is such a special deck for you. Arcana of Astrology, I think we've only scratch the surface with that one...bring on 2017! DECKS YOU USE FOR YOURSELF: TWU strikes again (my baby, and so you know I'm always excited to see it pop up, lol). Margaret Petersen, I really do love the powerful softness to it's voice - just did not resonate with me, BUT, I will say - I much prefer your borderless hardbacks vs the copy I had. Dreams of Gaia - SO empowering, agree 100% and I cannot wait to get the Idiotsyncratic Deck - the simplicity is so intriguing! SUPPORTIVE / COMFORT DECKS: Yup, Guardian Angel Tarot BLOWS.ME.AWAY. it's my grandmother, great grandmother and mothers arms wrapped around my being. Breaks every rule I have and I'm just so thankful to have been introduced to it via you AND the copy you sent my mom has been so powerful for her as she continues to recover from surgery. It has not left the top of my desk, just no muss, no fuss. LOL NEUTRAL ENERGY DECKS: Mrs. Stars really does enjoy Linestrider Tarot - she always draws first from that deck, then Ceccoli and TWU due to it's neutral stance. I'm also looking forward to exploring Tarot of the Old Path a bit more. DECKS THAT DIVE DEEP: Mary-El and Dreams of Gaia. YUP YUP YUP. lol. So differently though. Mary-El is so powerful and electric and stimulating. Dreams of Gaia feels profound and healing on a core level. Tarot of the Spirit is attracting me a little....hmmmm. WORKHORSE DECKS: Gorgeous Marsille deck....Druid Craft, love the backs, does feel 'Pentacle' esq :) SURPRISING DECKS: Guardian Angel shocks me too as did Dreams of Gaia, 100% :) Mother Stars would so love the Animal Wisdom Tarot, lol. EMPOWERING DECKS: I totally agree re: Dreams of Gaia, my most empowering deck hands down. VISUAL WOW DECKS: I wondered where the Bohemian Gothic Tarot was, lol - love that you love that deck so much, it does really pick you up and makes you smile, laugh, you really seem to enjoy it, so nice to see :) EXCELLENT video - really enjoyed your break down! NOW...the REALLY big question, if you apartment were on fire and you could only grab one deck...... HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA (sorry I had to)
Great video Kelly! I totally agree with Hidden Realms being an empowering deck, for me it shows the shadow, but shows how to break in and bring it into the light in a loving and empowering way.
Thank you so much! I have been watching your videos for several months and I am so grateful for all your time, patience and knowledge. I also so appreciate your attention to detail and your love of tarot. Happy New Year!
Might it be an idea to do a video about comforting spreads? Because we just had all the comfort-decks videos, maybe this can be very interesting as well? xxx
I am so excited to watch this! I have a few end of the year videos to make this week but I've been looking forward to seeing yours. I have no idea how to message on this app so I just wrote a comment knowing I would edit it. I really love how your edition of the Wild Unknown turned out! This will be one of your videos that will take multiple viewings to get it all in and I'm so glad you put your decks into categories. Thank you for sharing! ❤️
I'm glad you enjoyed it, I'm going to do the same thing with oracles but I think there will be less categories and more how I use different oracles in different ways... which I guess is the same thing :D
Thank you so much! I have been so hesitant in asking for these kinds of video's. I really like hearing 'I use this deck at Litha, and this and this for new moon'
I did some free readings using my crysalys deck right after I got it and man, it really tapped into my intuition. So far I cant seem to read with it for myself. (But the wild unknown is great for reading for myself and so is my Hansen-Roberts. I feel like I really need (want) to get Morgan Greer and/or Aquarian for self reading as well, but you never know how they are gonna play out. (I love how vibrant and up close those two decks are)
I'm glad you enjoyed it, it was actually a fun exercise to think about the ways that I used the different decks and see which ones showed up in multiple categories :D
Hey Kelly! Sorry I've been a little elusive lately; life things happen and Tarot sadly took a brief backseat. I love what you said about Fountain's strength being neutral;I did your energetic check in reading with the deck (thank you for opening that up to us again btw; I know you sell it, but it's a great model for me to just work with on my own). Anyway, two cards I got were the Eight and Nine of Swords, and the Nine was my internal energy, and when I first started relearning RWS in the fall, the nine of swords, especially in that spot, would've really made me feel sad, but it didn't; it made me think of what was causing the illusory stress and try to work with it. The Eight, conversely, showed up in the first triad as the "in balance" card-- and again, before might have been a card to make me a little scared, but I've experienced a lot of emotional catharsis lately: benign sadness or tears if you will, so it told me showing up in that place that I had just done what the card asked me to do, that I had already escaped the trap of the eight swords. The out of balance, incidentally was the four of swords-- need to meditate and get more rest for sure! I just love how doing the check-in with that deck made me get comfortable with uncomfortable cards through its neutrality, and that's a theme over what I've been doing, finally learning to get comfortable with sadness. One more unrelated thought--I know we're both watercolor lovers, doesn't that Linestrider just from an art point of view engage that part of your heart? Gonna be one of my next decks for sure.
Life does happen and I'm glad you move with the ebb and flow of it, tarot will always be there when it's time to come back to it! I love how you were able to read through these cards and hear what you needed to hear, thank you so much for sharing and I'm really glad that spread has helped you!! ::HUGS:: And yes, I am sure that watercolor aspect of the Linestrider does engage that, it's just an all around good reader for me too! :)
This just popped up on suggested as I was watching another of your (way more recent) vids. An hour of Kelly and decks - hell yea. Loved this video in particular to get a personal sense of how you utilise and engage with some of your decks after owning them for a while. The cross overs again really interesting, food for thought when considering how I would categorise my own :D
Another wonderful and very helpful video. I didn't get the name of the Deck you use for birth chart readings for children. It has foxes on the backs. please post name thanks
This is really interesting. I just got The Ravens Prophecy for Christmas, after putting it on my wishlist because of your walk through with it, and I really like it. I was wondering what category you would put that one in. It's comforting to me in the sense that I feel a deep connection to it since it gives me accurate readings already, but it looks like it would be a "darker" deck.
This was wonderful! I found another deck for my wishlist. :-) Not sure that's a good thing but did want a more masculine deck for male clients. I do love that Legacy of the Divine tarot and watching your review on it now. The Druidcraft is definitely my working deck as well and one that wants to manifest with me, but this morning it was my cuddle up n bed with a reading after a difficult night of sleep. Seems it has many sides. :-) So glad you do these reviews Kelly!
I read for myself always on New Moons and Full Moons, and then just whenever I feel like it in between :D Sometimes not a whole lot, and at other times like the last month, ever few days. I nearly always just pull 3 cards unless I am doing a specific New Moon or Moon in Geminii spread or something that I've seen and wanted to try.
Occasionally people will say "I saw this deck on your channel, if it feels right could you use it, but use your own judgement," which I appreciate as usually I am happy to but sometimes I have specific decks that feel right. I also sometimes have people say use any other deck but the RWS lol! For the most part I choose decks based on the question, a deck I'm heavily working with, or based on intuition, probably a combination of those things!
I like the esthetics and colors of your video. :-). I'm wondering if it's best for a first time tarot reader beginner if it's ok to give a tarot deck as a gift or is it best for the person to pick one out for themselves?
I never did the comfort decks video, so maybe I'll do this one... although I have just done my deck collection videos so maybe it's a bit much! Haha all of the decks!
I’d love to see an updated version of this is ever you get the opportunity and inclination 💖
Good idea :D I will try to work it in, though it is a bit of an undertaking lol

Very good idea!! I generally just pull three cards with a "what do I need to hear" :D but there are definitely some options there!

The Truth in the Story: What book(s) do you recommend for novice Tarot readers?

I need to redo this!! :D
That would be AMAZING!
Another wonderful and very helpful video. I didn't get the name of the Deck you use for birth chart readings for children. It has foxes on the backs. please post name thanks
Thank you! That deck is called the The Animal Wisdom Tarot :)
Watching this video really made my day!! Love these kind of videos! Sending you love!!!!
Hello Mr. Chris and I'm so happy you enjoyed it! Love right back to you :D
This is really interesting. I just got The Ravens Prophecy for Christmas, after putting it on my wishlist because of your walk through with it, and I really like it. It's comforting to me in the sense that I feel a deep connection to it since it gives me accurate readings already, but it looks like it would be a "darker" deck.
Raven's Prophecy was instantly comforting to me too. I'm not sure why, just something about it I guess! :)
This was wonderful! I found another deck for my wishlist. :-) Not sure that's a good thing but did want a more masculine deck for male clients. gorgeous decks!
I missed your Christmas chat☹️ I want to wish you a very happy New Year 🎊🎈🎆
Aw I'm sorry you missed the chat but happy new year to you as well!!!! :D
I love your picks!
Loving this Kelly! Watching right now.
How often do you read for yourself? And what kind of readings do you do? :)
Love your decks! The art as well as the back design
I should do a VR with this just because I have too many decks for too many different uses
Do people use for a particular deck before their session? Or do you use your intuition to guide you which deck to use?
Occasionally people will say "I saw this deck on your channel, if it feels right could you use it, but use your own judgement," which I appreciate as usually I am happy to but sometimes I have specific decks that feel right. I also sometimes have people say use any other deck but the RWS lol! For the most part I choose decks based on the question, a deck I'm heavily working with, or based on intuition, probably a combination of those things!
I loved this Kelly! Thank you for sharing. Happy New Year to you :)
Happy New Year to you as well, Kasia!! It was fun to do this and enlightening in how I use my decks, I don't always think about it in the moment!
I like the esthetics and colors of your video. :-). I'm wondering if it's best for a first time tarot reader beginner if it's ok to give a tarot deck as a gift or is it best for the person to pick one out for themselves?
Loved this! Thank you for sharing :)
You're welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it, it was fun and interesting to see myself what decks popped up :)
I never did the comfort decks video, so maybe I'll do this one... although I have just done my deck collection videos so maybe it's a bit much! Haha all of the decks!

In the comforting decks what's the name of the animal deck with the wolves on the back? You show it but never say it's name.
Animal Wisdom Tarot, I believe? With the two wolves head on the back?
The Truth in Story that's the one! Thanks.
What's the name of the deck at 42:16 ? I couldn't understand the name.
Sophie Ras yes, I’d like to know also!
It’s the Japaridze Tarot I believe
too bad, one hears "am, am, am" continuously which is very annoying.
5:57 what is the name of this deck ?
