Join us for exclusive highlights from Junior Pope's funeral, where the Actors Guild of Nigeria, led by Chief Emeka Rolas, came together to honor and lay to rest one of their own in his hometown of Ukehe, Enugu State, Nigeria.
In attendance were notable celebrities such as Zubby Michael, Chigozie Atuanya, Piccolo Nnadozie, K-Cee, E-money, Hanks Anuku, Harry B, Onny Michael, Diamond Okechi, Rita Edochie, Chinwe Owoo, Ruby Orjiakor, Destiny Etiko, Queen Wokoma, among many others.
Many attendees shared their experiences and fond memories of the late actor while also honoring his contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
The actor's wife, Jennifer Awele, was overcome with emotions during the service and burial ceremony.
The burial arrangements for Junior Pope commenced on April 23 with a requiem mass at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish in Asaba, Delta State.
A subsequent requiem mass took place on May 13 at Christ the King Catholic Parish in G.R.A , Enugu. On May 14, the actor was honored with an evening of tributes and a candlelight vigil at the Amadeo Event Centre in Enugu.
The wake was held on May 16, and he was finally laid to rest on May 17 at his country home in
Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, a community in the Igbo-etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State. The burial arrangements will conclude with a thanksgiving mass at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Ukehe on Sunday, May 19.
Junior Pope is survived by his wife and three sons.
