Ok so I live in FL and recently got the SunPass pro because I can use it in ny and nj where I spent a lot of time and now I get this info 😂. Can I get the mta easy pass even if my info as far as address is a Florida address?
I got the SunPass Pro at first because of that reasoning too You can get an MTA Easy Pass even though you have a Florida address. I stopped by the Transit Museum in Grand Central Terminal for mine but I know they also sell New York EZ-Passes at AAA Northeast and the New York DMVs. I'm not sure which EZ-Pass gets sent if you order one from www.e-zpassny.com/. If it's the Port Authority EZ-Pass there's a $1 monthly fee, New York State EZ-Passes (MTA & NYS Thruway Authority included) don't charge a monthly fee.
That's a lot of information to absorb, and I'll need a chart or table for visualization. 🤯😂You're a pro at making informative videos and breaking down the details to help people save money, and keep up the good work. 👍 I'm anticipating for driving videos. 😆 Thank you for sharing the helpful tips, AK! 🤗
I live in Manhattan and don’t drive very much anymore. These tolls are a lot. I know that congestion pricing has been put on hold, but I’m guessing that would be in addition to the tolls?? No wonder the whole thing has people losing their minds.
Wait so there is a separate Port Authority EZ Pass? Where can you get it from? Also what is the difference between the MTA EZ Pass and the NY State Thruway EZ Pass? It doesn't seem like there is any. So why brand them differently?
Not correct. I have the Sun Pass Pro. I have and continue to use it in North Carolina, Illinois and Florida and receive all of the discounts affiliated with having an “ez pass” I think this may be just a localized issue
EZ Pass doesn't care where you live to get the "local" EZ Pass prices. I live in Texas, but my EZ Pass is based in Massachusetts, where I drive the most with it, usually flying in. I initially had a NJ EZ Pass, but closed it when I saw the $1/mo fee. Haha. No, the EZ Pass does not work in Texas, at least not yet. I have another tag for that.
When I drove in Texas, my Florida SunPass Pro didn’t work there. I signed up for a TxTag sticker in advance to pay for my tolls in the Houston area. Those $1/mo fees are sneaky!
EZ Pass is incredibly frustrating and feels like a rip-off. They charge various fees even during the most routine times of the day. Whenever you try to get a refund, they always find a way to blame you, claiming your transponder isn’t mounted correctly, isn’t working, or is the wrong one. It’s enough to make anyone scratch their head in confusion. We need to come together and take collective action against the EZ Pass entity!
Wow very informative. I’m in NYC now but I still have and use my Massachusetts EZ-Pass!!! SMH…Guess I’ll be heading to Grand Central (I’m assuming you meant the Transit Museum Store) to pick one up!!! Thanks A K👍🏾
Yup, definitely grab an MTA EZ-Pass from the Transit Museum in Grand Central if that’s the case! Massachusetts EZ-Pass gets charged the full rate for all tolls in the NYC area! At least NY and MA EZ-Passes don’t have any monthly fees.
Get the EZ-Pass which benefits you the most. Each state should give you discounts for toll facilities when using their own EZ-Pass (some require residency to get the discounts - I know the MTA EZ-Pass for NY doesn’t require residency). PA charges a $3 annual fee, DE charges a $15 initial purchase fee (but not any monthly or annual fees), NJ charges a $1 monthly fee, Port Authority EZ-Pass charges a $1 monthly fee, and NY EZ-Passes don’t charge monthly or annual fees.
I would highly recommend it. Many toll plazas don’t have cash lanes anymore and are going all electronic. Otherwise you’ll be charged the higher toll-by-mail rates with expensive administrative fees.
good to know EZ Pass is a brand name and only works on certain tolls not all. Ik in my area they charge $1 a month admin fee regardless if you use it or not. rip off
EZ-Pass wherever EZ-Pass is accepted, but that doesn’t mean the toll rates are the same for everybody. I know the NY and MA EZ-Passes don’t charge any monthly fees. Florida SunPass Pro (which is interoperable with EZ-Pass) doesn’t have one either.
Lol 😂! So many toll enforcement fines coming in the mail lately! Why all the plate readers$$$$ Then your DL gets cancelled for non payment! When you never knew you were being billed $$$!!!

Yup, congestion pricing will be in addition to the tolls
Should I got surpass mini or sun pass pro to use in Florida

NON thruway easy pass has a monthly fee
Interesting and informative, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Good information I had no idea there was any difference.
Glad it was helpful! There’s a big difference depending where you get the transponder from!
@@ActionKidExtra Mine is from the NYS Thruway I thought 💭 they all gave the same discounts. I should have suspected…Thanks AK
Most things nowadays are a con job, which doesn't say much for humanity.

Does anyone know if EZpass website is down or is it just me
Interesting video A K. Thanks for the share.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Do Ez pass work in texas? If not then how to pay tolls in texas.
Thanks in advance

Informative and essential video for the drivers 😎Sounds a rip off🤔Thank you for sharing this comprahensive video A K🙂👍!!!
when governments like indiana sump off the tolls to cover other things and 5 percent only go to the road you are paying for
You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
@actionkidextra --- Which do I need to get full discounts (without fees) for driving in PA, DE, NJ, NY.

@@ActionKidExtra --- So no way to do NJ without monthly fees? Why does NY have three different passes? Does it matter which I get?
Ok since I am in Florida maby I should get into public and get that
Where are you? The wall behind you seems mad cool.
It is a cool wall
Boy, that sounded confusingly expensive 💰💰💰 And wait until congestion pricing takes effect!
They make it confusing on purpose!
For someone who doesn’t have ez pass , and just pays cash when going through tunnels, would you still recommend ez pass?
I would highly recommend it. Many toll plazas don’t have cash lanes anymore and are going all electronic. Otherwise you’ll be charged the higher toll-by-mail rates with expensive administrative fees.
Just get a plate flipper like I did. Flip the plate when you get close to the toll. Works wonders!
Be careful with that!
@@ActionKidExtra I don’t need to be careful with it. You can’t even notice that it flips.
@@RONderluck you could but cops are on the lookout for that type of thing they don’t play no games bro
@@ARCarReviews5 I don’t have one of those noticeable ones. I’ve had a flipper for over 20 years!!!!!

NHDOT (New Hampshire DOT, $6.50 transponder + $30 opening balance) and MeTA (Maine Turnpike Authority, $10.50* transponder + $20 opening balance) also don’t charge monthly fees too.
*includes ME 5.5% sales tax
$15 just to cross a bridge???

It's ridiculous at this point!
You are a public transportation guy. Oh wow, that is nice if you bought a car.
haha
