Ryan, I have found the best way to sharpen my McLane mower is backlapping. You will need lapping compound 220 & 400 grits, approx. First make sure bedknife is perfectly straight & sharp. Next apply lapping compound to all blades, run the reel backward, constantly lowering reel to the bedknife as it wears the knife & reel to a perfect mate, you will hear that beautiful ching ching ching sound when complete. Wipe off compound & adjust reel. I converted my mower to elec. using Razor scooter motor.
Had a Toro greens mower! That dam thing use to engage itself into gear when you got off to pull the flagstick!😂😂😂😂 Yup had to jump outta the way one day before I got ahold of the flag. Guess what happened????😂😂😂😂😋😙

You have one of those fancy reel grinders! Ours grinds one blade of the reel at a time.

holy cow 3 or 4 grinds a year!!! we topdress too and only need to grind twice if that

When a reel is ready you should be able to cut strips of paper while turning the reel slowly by hand
