Kind of track you had heard many times before, but you considered it mediocre, then in one point in time and space you heard it again and BOOM. Finally it hit you forever.
2019 and we live in hope that someday soon we are blessed with these kind of tunes again. progressive house used to be untouchable. Sasha, digweed, nick warren, sander kleinenberg, hernan cattaneo, satoshi Tommie. Bring back that old school vibe!
Tim (aka Natious) here, just need to correct you about this as I've seen a fair bit about it down the years. Myself and Anthony made the Silk mix together, over a few long days at Steelyard. We met in Ibiza many years before and stayed in touch so I asked him if he could help me with additional production for a B side of a track I'd written. I knew he had a great mixing console and a proper studio, whereas mine was a bed setup. In those days (of analogue) to work in another studio you had to literally take all your equipment there, so I borrowed my mate's car and took all my synths/samplers up there (Now you would just take your laptop 😆). We started reworking the track and it quickly became something much bigger. I wrote new bass parts and the strings and it gradually became an entirely different track. We mixed it around 4am, after a lot of coffee! I certainly couldn't have got that sound without Anthony, but to be clear Silk was just a name we used for the mix. So now you know...
@@timratcliffe3469 that’s really interesting to read. I’ve always wondered, could you remember what synth you used for that really wet bassline that kicks in at 1:38? I’ve never heard anything like it. Cheers
Got the vinyl.. It pairs well with The Generator - Where Are You Now (Moonman Remix).. and about 40 other prog. trance classics. The nostalgia is strong w this one!
unknown track id's in this mix Marko @ La Rocca On Sundays 09-05-1999 ruclips.net/video/OLb1ImVptls/видео.html the tracks i’m looking for are played @ 09min @16min @ 22min @ 53min if someone knows...
2:00 2 minute build up, this is what real trance is about, was about. hell someone make tunes like this. EDM rubbish doesn't feature near this level of energy. (I remember Sasha Global Underground Ibiza) What I like about this song. 2:00 The build up. 3:58 The Break majestic distance sound with stutter vocal. (similar to lost in trance by Plastic Angel) 5:07 The build up and bass chords riding with the pads (this is genius) 6:03 exit last bar.
What a remix by Silk! He did some quality progressive stuff. Check out Deeper Blue by Silk. One of my favourite bits of vinyl. Used to love dropping that back in the day.
Somethings are ment to beeeee.and this is one of them its f ing 2020 and try to compete this track to today's tracks this will kill all. I remember buying this at eight ball records in NYC. Like i say again something's are ment to be and don't change them like everyone in there mother is a DJ now days because of all gadgets and electronics . just simple vinyl and big names hammer out clubs to compete. That's it.
Progressive didn't have the cheesy euphoric buildups that plagued a lot of mainstream trance anthems of the time. It was a darker, more techno-house infused sounds.
Natious - Amber, Atlantis - Fiji, Tilt - I Dream. Three complex masterpieces produced in 1998. Where did it go wrong that we have to listen to those bullshit today?
Kind of track you had heard many times before, but you considered it mediocre, then in one point in time and space you heard it again and BOOM. Finally it hit you forever.
IT HIT ME FIRST TIME I HEARD IT YEARS AGO
Man how could you consider it mediocre... It is truly a gem.
what an atmosphere. if you could tell with one track what progressive music was all about its this one. life anthem
I still remember the day I bought Sasha GU 013- still the best
Christopher Fallon best progressive house mix out there man. I’ve yet to find a better one in over 20 years.
I still cant for the life of me decide if this pitch or the slower version on GU is best. Agree, CD1 is quality
@@adamalada1 The slower pitch for me, but then it's all I had heard until about 5 years ago.
Shut up
Me too! 👍my son is loving GU13 in 2024🔥🔥🔥timeless
What I love most about this song is the wistful, melancholic strings and the nostalgia it invokes for me.
It reminds me of Sasha essential mix

Shivers each time I hear this track. Unbelivable!
Timeless yet somehow underappreciated.

love stumbling upon tracks i've forgotten about. Thx
Love this tune
that breakdown and drop still gets me every single time. If anyone has an orchestra laying around, I reckon this would make a good piece.
The best dance tune if you’re a progressive house head! Fuckin’ brilliant!!! Only know about it thanks to Sasha! Son of God! ☺️
Supertrack, me transports a aquellos dias de los 90s.
this track is timeless !
This Silk mix leaves the original in it's dust by a mile. Big shout out to Anthony at Steelyard Music for the Silk mix.

One half of Origin! Never knew that. Nice one
Silk - Deeper Blue is probably one of my frav proggers of all time.

great closer from Sasha's Global Underground Ibiza, though it was mislabeled on the CD (just listed as "Natious - Amber")

Homelands 99
JSEITSONEN yes! Was there; those Mitsubishi’s 0.0
Now 2020 & still feels fresh as ever better than the soulless tech-house out now
I think I was there...I remember driving there anyway lol
Fucking tune!!!!
Can anyone explain, the diference between trance and progressive? or i should consider this great tune a progressive trance? Such a masterpiece tune.
dont bother at this point. the genres are all screwed up. progressive is basically slower and chunkier beats with less obv melodies
@@chrisschneider850 so you consider this as a progressive, just progressive. Thank you
Progressive didn't have the cheesy euphoric buildups that plagued a lot of mainstream trance anthems of the time. It was a darker, more techno-house infused sounds.
Housier vs ethereal
To me this is the perfect balance of prog house and trance. Euphoric but not cheesy.
😍😍😍😍
sasha used to hammer the shit out of this track. PLURtastic
Take it or leave it one of a sort.
Pouncy!
