Much appreciation for posting this up. I'm in the middle of making some spare bolts for a folding bike and I was completely lost on how to cut these bolts properly. Hacksaw no more😂😂😂
The "wire cutter" crimper tool is mean to cut aluminum or brass screws (used for electrical boxes) - not the stainless or zinc machine screw you are cutting in the vid.
Nice video .the down side of using bolt cutters is it leaves a raggedy end just right to cut ya finger ,then you have to file it down which means putting it in a vice 😊 if so you might as well hack saw it ,in a vice 😂
I had to return a set of 8" bolt cutters to Lowe's a while back, I had to cut through a bolt and could not squeeze the arms together at all! What did I do wrong! Was it the wrong size cutters? If I try again with 14" would I be more successful? Would really appreciate feedback. Thank you. Really interesting video.
Judith, the longer the bolt cutter, the easier it will be to cut because the longer the arms of the cutter allow more leverage to be created and, therefore, more cutting power even if you aren't strong enough to squeeze very hard.
AYYY... Don't get willy nilly with the metal shavings. If that metal shaving from the carpet gets in your eye and you rub it, you will have permanent vision damage.
3:30 - Those nuts served absolutely zero purpose and most certainly did not prevent the screw threads from being damaged when cutting the screw with a bolt cutter. How would they? You are still simply cutting the screw with bolt cutters at whatever point that you choose. Otherwise, great video!
@@pthompson2113 jesus christ phillip youre not that bright. the nut-bolts 'rethread ' the damaged screw . when you cut a machine bolt you will almost always inadvertently damage the screw... this was the purpose for having the bolts on in the first place. she even had 2 hex nuts on to ensure the screw would be properly rethreaded as the hex nuts were removed. analyze your dumb stupid comments before making them phillip!

I feel like such a moron for not thinking to use bolt cutters to cut the damn bolt😭🤦♂️. You did the lords work with this vid
Same here😂😂😂
This was extremely helpful! I had no idea my wire cutters worked on screws. Thank you for this video... my wife thanks you too.
I just went to Lowe's, which is 35 minutes away, and my screws were too long. Thank you for your help with solving my problem!
As a member of the Weak Hands Club, thanks for showing a few different methods.
LOL! I really need to sign up for that club!
I had to use one of those Irwin clamps, the one with 300 pounds of clamping force on the same thin bolt trimmer/wire stripper.
The ASMR in this is immaculate lmao

Would you like to come round to my place and we could perhaps boof some jenkum I have prepared and order some pizza
my exact thoughts
This was the EASIEST thing I've done ALL DAY! Thank you for the genius tip.
Great video, thank you! I have bolt cutters and never thought to use them. Usually it's my Dremel, but this method looks much easier!
The wire cutter trick worked perfectly!
Nice, thanks lady. Glad to see a gal who can teach us all a thing or two when it comes to home improvement.

Ohhh my god WHHHHHY did i not think of this??? You are a bloody LEGEND! Thanks.
Good tip, using a metal file to deburr your bolt end would be be a good idea too.
You are a legend… so simple but worked perfectly!!!
Crazy I never knew those holes on the wire cutters could be used for screws , thanks
I would not recommend
I was about to use a pair of dykes. I'm glad you suggested the bolt cutters!
Thank you so much! I’m using anchors for a dry wall and had to cut the provided chrome screws to fit into the anchor.
I knew there had to be a way!! Thank you for sharing!😊
Nice video, short, sweet and to the point. Thanks!
Very helpful, bought some bolt cutters. Thank you
👍
Wow! Thank you so much - so quick and easy. Will try it now.

Just the help I needed. Thank you!
Great job ma'am! That helped a lot! 🙂
Thank you for sharing this information with us, simple demo of practical gold! ❤
After shortening your bolt with bolt cutters, cleaning up the cut end with a metal file is a good idea - there will be some very sharp burrs there.
Great video, thanks!
thx, i was gonna buy a dremel for this, guess that can wait :)
this was so helpful. thank you!
Thank you for this video!
Thanks good ideas.

Informative 👍🏽
Great work...
can you use a bolt cutter to cut a nail?
yes
I like that the demonstrator is a woman because she has all the same concerns I would have.
What is the sound when you screw it in
It's a ratcheting screwdriver.
Ratcheting screwdrivers think
Great video! What kind of wire cutter was that?
I used a 14 inch bolt cutter. I put a link to a similar but better one in the description box.
@@KYKCreations Thank You!
ty you rock!!!
Me dolió ver cómo intentaba cortarlo con las pela cable, pobres pinzas 😓
TY !
Thank you!
Brilliant!
awesome 😎

I appreciate the word of caution!
Oi Oi Badass. thank you
Honestly didn't expect a woman, but damn this is an informative video

phillip, those nuts are critical because as you screw them off, they actually help re-form the damaged thread.
@@KYKCreations But you're not screwing them off ... You're cutting the screw with bolt cutters. So what you you mean exactly....?
